When I need a slam dunk slice I head to Nats.  As a new Yorker at heart Nats is as good as it gets west of the Hudson. The dough is the right crunch, the sauce just the right amount of zing and the cheese the right tang.  Not too heavy and and  remarkably consistent pizza.   My kids never tire of the NY wall scene and staff are always chill.

I love thin crust pizza from Nat's. Their salads and pastas are also fresh and tasty.

I'd go there more often but I watch how much dairy I eat. That said, when I think pizza, I think about Nat's pizza, and have been going there for over a decade. Also lots of varieties if someone does not eat meat.

I am drooling just thinking about the next time I get to go to Nat's (from Coquitlam... and yes, its worth the trip)

My husband and I go once in awhile, and the food is amazeballs. If we're starving, we will each get a slice of pizza and gnaw on that while they prepare our orgasmic chicken parmesan sandwich, which we share. I dont know if the pizza is "real new york pizza" cause hey, never been to new york... but its damn good none the less. For the love of god get the chicken parm sandwich at some point before you die. It is the absolute, mother of all cats asses! ohh babyyy.

while i have had real new york pizza and absolutely love it.  Nats pizzeria is gonna be the closest to it in this city.  I love all pizza but Nats sets it's pizza style far apart from the others thats why i like it so much.  Toppings are awesome and seems fresh.  Pizza is thin and light tasting.  Some ppl commented on the blandness i believe it's the sauce which isn't too salty or overwhelming.
All in all great pizza better than the crap around this city i would go and enjoy a slice anytime.  where can you get a chorizo topped pizza around here?  Recommend.

La la la la... Love it !!

It is hard to find a proper east coast style pizza in a West Coast city and my Standards regarding pizza have been lowered to a sad state already that I consider a pizza edible if the pie not by default soaked in a mess of oily hell.

Not so here at Nat's... I deal with coming all the way over here just for the pizza, I deal with the price and also with the slightly smaller size of the slices (this probably wouldn't fly back in NY) but it's an overall joy to get a hot, fresh slice of Nat's pizza.

    Enjoy people!!

Too bad these guys don't deliver to me, but they are tied for the best pie in town next to Ragazzi. Been eating pesto/artichoke and spicy mushroom since 1992. This place had always been consistent, they also have the best Greek Salad in town--lots of olives and feta. The veal Parmesan/eggplant Heros with banana peppers are to die for, but over the years, my metabolism has slowed down quite a bit and I have only gotten as far as a couple bites before Having to call in the scrawny Chinese hubby with wokthefok style super metabolism to come help me finish it off.

This place isn't bad but it doesn't bet Me and Ed's in Burnaby. It wasn't so bad for being on this side of town. I wasn't gonna drive all the way to Burnaby for some OK Canadian pizza.

Pizza was not bad. The pizza feta didn't melt the way it was suppose to. booo.. but hey what can you do with OK pizza. Buuut my husband and nephew loved it. I guess that's all it counts right. It was a little pricey but ehh it's Canada.

FYI: Vancouver you got nothing on L.A. pizza

We have ordered this pizza twice. My boyfriend likes it more than me.

PROS - great toppings and lots of them, Interesting flavour.

CONS - like another reviewer said, the crust isn't NYstyle in the sense that you can't fold it, it is very hard and has a slight burned taste to it.  It is very expensive (23$ for a xlarge).  It is not very filling - 2 people eat an extra large, but we do have a pizza addiction. There are no dipping sauces, so if you like dipping sauce run to safeway and pick some up, otherwise you can have a 1/4 oz ranch.

In conclusion, I didn't realize until I wrote this that there were so many cons.  Perhaps I will try to convince by boyfriend to go somewhere else next time.

My very first visit to Nat's was after arriving in Vancouver.  I ordered a regular slice, and honestly enjoyed it.  On that very first visit, Nat came over to my table and asked me if I was from NY.

I asked why, and he said people on the West coast don't order a "regular slice" and he could also tell from the way I folded my pizza to eat it.  Sharp eye!

Little did I know that my non-accented English would still give me away because of my pizza vocabulary and folding technique (who knew that people don't fold pizza the same way on the West coast?!?!?!!?)!

Excuse me, I would like a slice of "margarita" please and I promise not to do a tri-fold.  Ok, I can now hide safely on the West coast again.

Nat and Franco Bastone offer up the closest thing to a NY slice you will find in Vancouver.  They visited their extended family's pizzeria in Yonkers for a while back in the early 90's and picked up all the secrets of how to get the crust thin and crispy enough, and how important it is to always serve a slice extremely hot (unlike most of the bulk of 99 cent "pizza" places in Vancouver).

Their pizza will give you pizza roof in your mouth if you bite in too quickly - as it should!

It is just like the pizza back in NY.  They offer plenty of different flavour shakers (oregano, chili flakes, garlic powder, etc.) so you can customize it to your tastes.  They also have given a bit of a nod to West coast markets by offering some heavily topped versions as well (I steer clear of those).  I stick only to the regular slice and occasionally the pepperoni when I'm in the mood for a taste of NY.

The only thing that is a bit odd for me is when Nat or Franco try to kibbitz as if they are from NY to give the place what they perceive as a NY feel.  But they do it with such a heavy Canadian accent instead of a NY Italian accent that it just sounds funny to me.  I guess the local high school kids that crowd the place around lunch time like the "NY Experience" though!

Perhaps it just sounds forced and odd to me because I'm a folder still!

Random side note:  The location on Denman street is a franchise and the pies are a bit better at the Broadway location.

Steve Sachs. What does Steve have to do with Nat's New York Pizzeria, you ask? IMO, everything. You see, Steve is the guy who took me on my very first date ever. It was a sweltering summer between the sixth and seventh grades. We took the #9 bus to West Broadway Avenue and Macdonald Street. I ordered a slice of plain cheese; Steve had the meat lover's. After, he tried to get to second base, but I had wisely worn several layers of clothing that day, despite the heat. It was magic.

In all honesty, the pizza at Nat's was really, really good, and it didn't cost Steve an arm and a leg to take me there, even if he didn't get the big payoff in the end. Not only was the pie to die for, Nat's Pizzeria is filled with New York memorabilia, as well as photos of some of Nat's famous patrons.

So, gentlemen -- especially those of you in mid-puberty -- if you're racking your brain for the perfect place to take your date, try Nat's. May you have better luck after the pizza than Steve did.

So disappointing! I trekked this far into Kits just for a slice and was really let down. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that they were just having an off day, but I wouldn't bother going back for another try.

My regular (cheese) slice, did indeed have a thin crust, but I certainly couldn't fold it up like Marc D. because it was as hard as a cracker and had a bad, slightly burnt, flavour. The thin layer of sauce with a poor ratio of cheese topping wasn't thick or flavourful enough to cover up the singed crust either.

Sigh, I had been so looking forward to it too - and now my hundredth review is negative.

Probably the best and closest to authentic NYC thin crust pizza that you can find in the city at a great price.

This location provides far more seating than the Denman street location and it certainly doesn't seem as crowded which is what gives it this nice little extra boost.

Be sure to try the pesto slice!

Glad we moved into a new neighborhood = Nat's delivery area!  The delivery took a while (45+ minutes), but yum!  Best pizza we've had in Vancouver so far.

Nice & chewy thin crust, not overdone with cheese or tomato sauce, and the flavors are super rich.

Nat's Pizza is the place to go for a quick slice of thin crust pizza.
Nat and Frank run a very customer friendly business and a very busy take out service.

They are very customer oriented and often give back to the community via supporting fundraisers etc.

I take kids from our sports teams to Nats and its quality and affordable.

I've never been to New York and I don't really eat a lot of New York style pizza, but this place certainly evokes that city in my mind. It's not just the decor plastered to the walls and under glass on all the counters and tables. It's also the fact that the pizza is exactly what I imagine the Ninja Turtles and Peter Parker slurping down when they aren't cleaning up the streets of the Big Apple. It's probably worth it to walk in here and take a look around. It's pretty distinctive.

That said, the pizza is nothing very special. The sauce is tangy, and not too sweet, and the cheese is extra greasy, just like you'd expect. The crust is the only thin crust I've ever actually encountered in this city, but it's otherwise pretty non-notable. Go for the decor, the price, and the fact that it's a great place to hang out with some buddies and chow.

IMO thin crust should be firm and crispy not soggy and soft.

Nat's disappointed me. My friends had one slice and never went back for more. Fortunately, I had lot of appies and snacks to compensate. My rating of one star was due the delivery man who was (very personable.)

The closest to New York style pizza on the West Coast.

Thin crust lovers should be aware of this yummy "New York" style pizza joint. But you probably are aware of it already because it cleans up with all the awards from local newspapers and magazines. What I love about Nat's (besides the basic must-haves of tasty crust and flavourful sauce) is some of the creative topping combinations offered.

For example, the "Fifth Avenue" pizza has spinach, fresh tomatoes, feta and sweet onions. They have chorizo sausage, hot bell peppers, hot capicollo, bocconcini, pesto ... the list goes on.  It does seem a bit pricey, with 14-inch pies costing between $14-$19.50 and 16-inch pies at $16-$23, but it's worth the extra cash for a satisfying Za experience.

They have take out and delivery or you can eat at the location. There's a fair selection of pizza by-the-slice to choose from that makes a great walk-by snack.

Go to Nat's and watch as the pizza guys stretch out the dough by hand for each whole pizza order that comes in. Then, taste that quality of the dough in the flavor of the finished product.

Nat's has a busy feel with crammed memorabilia on the walls and more than ample references to the Big Apple.

Perfect for vegetarians, there are just as many pizzas without meat available by the slice as there are with meat. Think spicy mushroom, artichoke, or pesto. Then, when that perfectly crisp slice comes mouth-burningly hot out of the oven you can sprinkle it with roasted garlic or oregano in addition to the classic toppings.

The only thing holding Nat's back from five stars is the sauce. For my personal tastes it's lacking the punch of oregano. But hey - whadda ya gonna do?

Overall though, Nat's is perfect for a quick, tasty slice for $3-$4. The other downfall of this thin crust pizza is it takes at least two slice to fill you up!

    Nat's Pizza on Denman Street.
A great place for a slice of Pizza.
Large thin crust pizza - just how you find it in New York.
Good Variety of Slices. I heard they make great sandwiches too.
Not a place for the gourmet pizza connoisseur - just plain great eats!

I really like Nat's Pizza but today I let my slices go cold before eating them and realized that it doesn't hold up as well as some other pizzas do.  The crust gets too hard. So hot, Nat's would receive four stars but cold only three.

Called in my order for an XL Fifth Avenue pizza on a hungover Sunday.  They told me it would be 45mins.  Hadn't eaten anything and it was 5PM. Coulda filled my gut with anything by that point but I was looking for some ooey-gooey goodness. What we got was a decent feta, spinach, tomato pizza but really nothing special.  I like the thin crust style but found their crust kinda hard to chew.

Their pizzas are pretty tasty but they're overpriced. Small slices and very thin.  You'll have to spend over 15 dollars for lunch with 4-5 slices in order to be fairly well fed. Their chicken parmesan hero sandwiches are disgustingly plain - very dry, chicken has NO flavour, the bread is so dry, tasteless; did they buy the buns at Real Canadian Superstore?  They're worst than homemade chicken parmesan hero sandwiches.  Overall, this place is a decent place if you want a snack, but skip it if you want a pizza meal because it'll cost you an arm and a leg. THIS PLACE IS SO OVERRATED!!!

So the pizza took forever to get here. Then when it did they didn't even know that I  wanted to pay with my Visa card. Once I had the pizza inside I found it to be a big let down. Super suggie in the middle, like some one poured water in the middle of the pizza. Then the hero sandwich I order was not that good also. Ordering from here was a big let down. Maybe it was just the location?

I have been a customer for about 3 years. First 2-3 times was fabulous...although service was always a bit rude. Then...a hair in my pizza, followed by a staple in my lasagna! Obviously didn't order for a long time. Desperate last night I ordered Pizza & a salad...the girl who answered the phone (the manager I later found out) let out a huge sigh when I asked what the total would be & put me on hold fpor 5 minutes. The wrong salad arrived along with a hair in the pizza.... Game over. Back to Martinis where they may be a bit further away, but pleasant service & no hair or staples!
