This is a lovely store. The clothes are simple but styling and sexy. Their recent open house was a blast. I love the fact that they have a unique designer and that there togs are made here. You should check it out.

Vancouver may have voted this store "runner up for Best Local Designer Clothing Shop" but what lets it down in my opinion are the prices; it's a shame they're so incredibly steep. I saw some gorgeous black pants, which fit like a dream and the material was great quality, but at $180 I just couldn't bring myself to purchase them. I have however, day dreamed about them ever since.
This is not a very large store but there is a nice selection of clothing in varying styles and the fact that they are eco-friendly is a huge plus in my book.
I really only liked their cotton pieces though, as the quality of the material was fabulous (maybe worth the hefty price tag?). But it's a shame the prices turned me away, and I left empty handed. -

Independent label, Narcissist Design, was created over 12 years ago by Canadian designer Sarah Robinson Francoeur, whose emphasis on fresh yet classic dresses has elevated day and evening wear for the savvy woman. Narcissist can be found all over Canada and in the United States at select boutiques and this select retail location carries some truly beautiful designs. Along with the Narcissist label, the boutique also carries a selection of independent designer labels and sells wholesale and bridesmaids dresses that you could actually wear again...seriously! Prices are steep but again, these are investment pieces and special occasion wears, absolutely worth your hard-earned coin.

Designs here are elegant, classic and simple. The drapery is clean and fluid. With all the trendy shops that haunt Main Street, Narcissist invests in the quality design of simplicity over stitching on seasonal favours that will fall out of style by next week.

I agree that Narcissist Design Co. prices may not be the cheapest on the block, and affordability is something that a lot of us have to take into account right now, but I still consider them affordable as a designer label. Dresses start around $150 and I don't think any top $300. Also, their clothes are made in Vancouver, not overseas. It's good to know that they are keeping people employed in Canada. If you sign up for their monthly newsletter you will get a heads up on many of their sales and monthly promotions which really help out with the price points and I've picked up many a dress for around the $100 mark. You also get a discount during your birthday month! I agree that $180 may be pricey for a pair of pants but I've admired those pants myself in brown. They are of great quality with some impressive classic detailing which I'm sure take time and money to make. I was shopping at their warehouse sale recently and was talking to someone who had Narcissist dresses in her closet that were 8 years old that she still wore and got compliments on. If a Narcissist dress can be worn for 8 years, it's worth $200 to invest in a classic stylish piece that you don't have to replace every year or two.
