A very strong three star indeed! Newly refreshed and reopened, Naked Chili's white and red decor trumps the Casablanca that was there before (but for now, they are still giving out Casablanca's business cards and haven't changed over the awning, so it is a little confusing)
A short and sweet menu with tacos (beef, chicken, pork, chorizo), burritos, quesadillas, and sopes, a couple of salads and soups and you have yourself a great little take away or quick eat in spot.
On my quest to find a hortchata that meets my "perfection" criteria: not overly sweet and rich, Naked Chili fell short. It was a generous serving size but it was a bit to watery for my taste. I like mine to the have consistency of homo milk rather than skim.
My sopes though were splendid! They came in a trio that was beautifully presented and were everything I was wanting: loaded up with pork, cheese and nicely flavoured beans! I swear, I could taste a hint of pineapple but perhaps it was just the sweet/sourness in the pork seasoning.
Naked Chili would have my five sexy stars if they would add Lime Soup (my favourite) to the menu and serve up a better salsa with the store bought tortilla chips.Listed in: Vancouver's Spicy Foods
