I was looking for a place to get Shellac nails done and behold, I walk into Nail Sense thanks to the amazing reviews by Yelpers. Everywhere I read, I could not get over how clean everyone spoke of this place and I think when it comes to mani/pedis, the cleanliness of a place is KEY.

I booked an appointment and a little hesitant on the service I was going to get, but was a woman on a mission to get pretty nails for her big day! It's not really close to the subway station - you can always jump on the ttc and ride along yonge but I decided to walk. Trust me, it is much longer than you think.

The interior was very simple, very white. There were two others in there getting their nails and toes done. I wasn't sure what was the best colour for my skin tone so I asked ther ladies for their recommdenaton and at that time there were only two pink shades In shellac but they gave mood reasoning that one colour was more romantic. I really trusted their expertise.

While my nails were getting done, 27 dresses, the movie, was being played on their tv. The girl helping me was really nice, her english was not that great, with a very strong view accent. She would chat with her colleague from time to time in Vietnamese and I was hoping she was not talking about me. I was really curious about how to take care of my nails and she was very patient with giving me proper instruction.

After just over an hour, I walked out with nails that I was in love with and would stay on for two weeks without chipping or scraping off... Thank goodness.

I think it cost about 40 dollars to get the nails done, and I know you can probably get it for a much cheaper price elsewhere with suc stiff competition. But I would definitely go back to this place for their service cleanliness and the many many colours that were stockpiled on the shelves.

    Review for Brazilian wax only*:

Sorry to bring down the ratings because I liked my waxer very much. I just wasn't  impressed by this salon's atmosphere or, more importantly, its waxing products.

Intake was super friendly and fairly efficient. The place itself, yeah: sterile clean. But I don't really want "sterile". When I get intimate waxing, I want clean and cozy. The room I was brought into was NOT cozy. It was a little converted closet with fluorescent lighting; it had no personality. It was a room the type in which you could get a gyn exam. ick

The staff person who performed my Brazilian had good technique, was very competent and had stilted conversational abilities. Despite her waxing skills, compared to the wax quality I was used to, I found the final outcome WAY less than desired, especially afterward.

Wow, I figured, if this was the BEST Toronto had to offer in intimate waxing, I'd better find an alternative. Luckily, I found Sugar Moon and started to get sugared there. So much better.  A bazillion times better.

My feeling is that this place skimps on the wax quality which masks and/or has to be overcompensated by the skills of their waxers. Too bad.

    * Creepers: don't bother sending me weird va-jay-jay messages, please. Thanks.

    This place can't be beat.

I tried the place even if it was a bit far for me (any place not within the immediate vicinity of a TTC station is 'far' for me :P), and it was 900 m away from TTC Lawrence Station (walking southbound).

It was clean, spotless, very hygienic, organized and the girls were very pleasant and quiet (sometimes those nail salons can be VERY loud).

I had my nail polish put on by one girl (very sweet but inexperienced), and the others came by to check her work. It wasn't perfect (she's still learning!) so the other girl cleaned it all off and re-did it all over again, showing the other girl how to do it properly.

They are PROS. The owner is a very conscientious man who obviously wants to run a good business to have repeat and happy clients.

They are also the most advanced, IT-wise. You can book the appointments online!!!!! Score.

    I will definitely come back.

3 words - THIS PLACE ROCKS!  This was my first visit to Nailsense, and you can bet your sweet ass that I'll be a repeat customer.

Super clean, very modern nail salon. Plenty of comfortable seating (I think I counted 8 pedicure stations), complete with obligatory massaging chair.  Staff is fantastic, the owner is incredibly nice and so professional.

It's worth mentioning that all of their equipment/tools have been sterilized.  I saw them using the autoclave and pulling sealed instruments out of that thing the entire time we were there...so yay for that as well!

We booked a group of 9 or 10 Yelpers for a mani/pedi on a recent Sunday evening.  Not only were they able to accommodate us, they actually stayed late do do so.  We were booked at 5pm and by the time we left it was close to 7pm.

When we arrived, a few minutes before 5pm, the owner let us know immediately that they were running a few minutes behind schedule. Not a big deal for me personally, because it took me forevevah to pick a shade...they have so many nail colours it almost did my head in.  I selected a dark, purplish black colour for both my hands and feet.  Something I don't normally do because once the polish chips, the manicure looks like shit.  However, it's now 3 days later both my mani/pedi are still looking flawless!

The girl who gave me my mani/pedi was fantastic.  She did an excellent job, even  took the time to wrap my feet in saran wrap before putting my socks on so that my pedi wouldn't smudge on the way home!  The owner even took an extra 25% of of our invoice because they started a few minutes late!

    Simpling amazing!

My first experience at Nailsense this weekend!  It was my pamper day finale after a morning at the Iyashi Bedrock Spa. It'd been a long time she coming since I don't live in the area, but it's something I would definitely I would make the trip up.

I love the new appointment booking online. It's efficient and I can do it from the comfort of my desk at work.

The nice clean salon was inviting, and tons of colours (not just OPI) to choose from.
Pedicure stations line the wall, with feet soakers and massage chairs.
They face a large flat screen, which was playing [insert chick flick here]

I got a mani/pedi ($35 - great value! and don't forget to use the yelp promo code when you book online). She did my pedi, and another girl was doing my mani at the same time when I was sitting there. I like the good use of time, but I felt bad she was standing the whole time.

There was not one thing I can complain about here. They are friendly, quick and my nails look great.

They have a custom designed drying table which I put my digits into. Okay, one thing to complain, that table was too tall for me to read my magazine.

The owner also has a program for kids, if they get good grades, they get a free pedicure! WOOOOW.

I've already booked in my Bridal Party for the eve before, but I'm sure I'll be back before then.

Free parking after 6pm and Sundays on Lytton, one street south. (1 hr otherwise)

Although this place is a bit far for me, I decided to give it a try based on the great reviews here on Yelp. Wax job by Amanda was quick...unfortunately I can't say painless b/c I am a whus. NO double-dipping which is huge for me. She also sounded very knowledgable about hair growth and waxing.
You get a discount with yelp however you have to book online through yelp as a yelp member, which I couldn't find so they told me I can apply it to my next one. Regardless it was more than half the price I was paying in Houston! Which is a big bonus for me!
Clean, great prices and friendly employees definitely make this a great place to come back to.

Took my mom for a birthday mani-pedi here after seeing the excellent reviews.  Definitely happy to add another!

I love nail polish and own over 220 bottles, and I was really impressed with their colour selection.  They had some really nice colours I've been unable to find at other salons, so for once I got to pick colours unlike anything in my own collection.  Nice bonus!

Service was great, they listened when I said I didn't want my nails cut too short and really made the shape nice.  My mom is also really picky and she left thrilled with how her nails looked.

    We'll definitely be back!

Went here yesterday for waxing (booked it with Thuy after reading all the great reviews on here). Def. one of the best waxing experiences I've had!

Thuy was very knowledgeable as many other yelpers mentioned. Liked how she gave really good tips to avoid ingrown hairs. Asked if I was doing okay and was very friendly.

The location is a bit out of the way for me to go to as I live more downtown but well worth the trip! I am def. going to go back at least once more before I go back to Waterloo in Jan. Also might get a shellac manicure done next week since I hear the nail services are just as good.

Wow. I confirm all the good ratings. This place is by far the best for price and quality. $25 for pedicure, with soak, nail shaping, buffing, cuticle care, scrub, callus removal, hot towel, lotion, massage, polish application............. yup you heard it right. Can't really complain. Just don't expect all the other complimentary things like coffee/tea and whatnot. The place is clean for the most part... except when the pedicurist tried to help me take out the remote control for the massage chair, a nail from who knows whose foot came flying out of the side of the chair 0_o yikes. The chairs are all massage chairs which you can turn on so that's nice. But they aren't too comfortable and are rather weak in massaging my back so eh. Polish selection is decent.. mostly OPI and China Glaze. My feet turned out pampered and beautiful. I don't think it's ever looked so nice! But then when I went home, the polish on my large toe on both feet were moved. I guess because she put a protective undercoat, two layers of polish and a clear overcoat on it so it's pretty thick and she didn't allow each coat to dry properly before putting the next on. Pretty much the only reason why I didn't give this place a 5 star. I'm still a fan though.

I've only written about the mani+pedi services of NailSense so decided to give their waxing services some lovin' too.

Brazilians - I would highly recommend ! Kim did an awesome job at explaining the 'procedure' (sounds so hospital'ish); she was quick and chatted throughout the entire time, which resulted in v v v v little pain. ($30 + taxes)

Brow Waxing - Amanda did a good job (I hope anyway... no one has said that I look repulsive w my brows yet). She chooses a shape and thickness of brows that goes well with your face. ($10 + taxes)

Full-lef Waxing - Like the other two ladies, Thuy is super quick and makes the waxing experience not painful at all. In spite of being quick, she's super thorough too. ($40 + taxes)

NS maintains a five star rating in my books ~

Undoubtedly the best mani-pedi I have ever had.
Excellent attention to detail - from taking your coat as you come in for an appointment, to cuticle work, polish application, making sure your nails are totally dry before letting you step out. They even help you put on your coat and shoes.
This may sound weird and I haven't seen this done elsewhere but, they even put extra cuticle moisturizer and wrap up your feet with some cling wrap if you are wearing close toed shoes (under your socks) to make your feet extra soft!
Also, they "wrap" the tips  (http://bit.ly/bxbKSD) while painting your nails to make your manicure last. Mine lasted 6 full days without a chip, despite the fact that I shower with extra hot water, and do my dishes without gloves.
AND you get all this for a really reasonable price. I would be here way more often if it was closer to my place.

    Great place!

Amanda did a great job waxing my eyebrows!! she was not wax happy so i actually had well groomed eyebrows when I was done! (I had my eyebrows waxed elsewhere and they ended up being almost non-existant ... yes! try explaining that to all your university friends! hardly a desirable outcome) Amanda was great!

Trizzie did my nails, I got a Gel French Manicure. ... its been 5 days and they are still in mint condition ... although I do like theb io-gel nails better (a bit thicker and therefore a bit more durable) these are light and more natural looking. I love them!

I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a great experience and appreciates cleanliness!

Thanks Nailsense! I have already booked my return appointments!! :)

I went here specifically because of the hype on Yelp, and because I'd yet to find a really good, affordable and CLEAN spa in Toronto. I can't say I was disappointed.

The beginning of my experience at Nailsense was a little shaky. I had Shellac removal on my toes first and they left it on for 15 mins as they attended to other customers (I had an appointment). I was on lunch and so this was a little annoying for me. I saw they did the same to another customer getting Shellac removed from her nails - she had it on for well over 15 mins.

BUT, they pulled it together in the end, and they get five stars because compared to all the other spas I've been to in TO, the bang for your buck was unbelievable. Fantastic pedi... they weren't shy with the scrubbing and scraping, but still gentle. They're more than happy to use razor if you want it, and great dryers at the end so you don't ruin your pedi five minutes after you get it. And the place was CLEAN. People were continously cleaning the whole time I was there. All that for $25 + the shellac removal? I'll be back for sure.

    OK so I'm reviewing again.
Why? Because I was totally heard. After my negative experience I was approached and asked about my experience. I was able to express what went wrong and why I felt so disappointed... I had such high expectations after my first visit, which let a mediocre experience feel that much worse. I work in hospitality and know how hard it is to have an employee who doesn't commit and come in to work ready to give it their all. I discussed this with the management, and they've expressed they're going to work on more training and keeping an eye out.

I was back with my mom on Saturday and had a great experience. This place is always SO busy but it's a well-oiled machine, and we didn't have to wait for long, got to sit together, etc. I got a colour called Breathe Life on my fingers that is SO pretty - in the bottle it looks like a mermaidy shimmer that is kind of green, but on it's more purple and lovely. I also remember sales from this colour helped with lung cancer research. I'm such an opi/nail nerd!  Regardless, totes recommend it and Nailsense!

All right ladies, keep it down. It's time for a MAN to deliver his two cents on this Lawrence Park nail salon. Or at least, someone fairly close to a man. A man-boy really. Whatever, shush. I came here for my first mani/pedi experience with a group of fine lady yelpers on a Sunday afternoon, and I was blown away.

Now, I've seen the inside of a few nail salons in my day and none are quite as shiny and clean as this one. The staff walk around decked in white smocks and wear name tags in Swiss type. It's very Bauhaus. There are eight (8) pedicure stations that look like they cost about a million bucks each, and when I arrived the girls were already getting their soak on. I plopped in and joined these yelpettes.

These are incredible chairs. There are probably 1,000 vibrating massage permutations, though I liked the lower-back one best. As we got pampered we watched a DVD of the Reese Witherspoon classic* "How Do You Know." I was secretly hoping for more Girl Talk (i.e., discussions of dreamy man-yelpers, juicy gossip, "omigawds" tossed around hither and thither, etc.) but the plasma screen kept us pretty captivated.

There was discussing of me getting lime green toes, but in the end I opted for a clear coat on both my hands and feet. I must say, it was a pretty relaxing experience, and the massages felt nice. Afterwards my fingernails felt very clean and strangely almost lighter. Does that make sense -- nailsense? Now at $35 per service, it's more than I would spend on the regular but a) there is a solid discount for yelpers and b) it definitely feels like a luxury experience. A treat.

A note on the customer service: it's out of this world. This place could be flipping stolen automatic firearms, but their attention to detail shows tremendous respect and care for their customers. An example: the owner gives free manicures to youngsters in the area who perform well in school. I saw a stack of book reports, math tests, and essays slathered in As and A plusses. (I even saw a 103%!) If that isn't incentive for a teenage girl (or sophisticated young lad) to keep up the grades, I don't know what is. I didn't just leave with great nails, I left with the warm fuzzies. (Though I'm sure Reese helped.)

Obligatory Title Pun: It only makes SENSE.

Menu Readability: Your best bet is to check out the website. There is a pretty clear listing of their services.

Need to mention: I did the math and it's 850m from Lawrence subway station and 1230m from Eglinton. Yer welcome.

What this place teaches me about myself: Sometimes you have to look fabulous. Also: how can you not insta-love Reese Witherspoon?

Yet another 5 star review for Thuy! She is awesome! I went for my first appointment there yesterday. The salon is bright, sleek and spotlessly clean. Thuy is nice, and my Brazilian & underarm waxes were very thorough and painless. She is very meticulous, so she doesn't have to go over the same area twice. The atmosphere is very serene and Thuy will make even the most shy/nervous girl feel at ease. No need for numbing spray (does that even work?!) or Advil.

Thuy takes the time to instruct you how to avoid ingrowns, and as mentioned, you can book online using their very simple system.

I've been to Nail Sense for pedicures before and have always been impressed with the atmosphere and cleanliness, so it seemed the obvious choice when I decided to get a brazilian. I've always avoided brazilians in Toronto (I'm from a smaller town originally) mostly because they are so expensive here, but Nail Sense charges $35 which seems totally reasonable.

The woman who did my wax was Amanda and she was fantastic! Totally professional, friendly and so meticulous (after the wax, she checked everything over and tweezed any strays!). The result was a totally comfortable experience and a super smooth finish!

Both waxing estheticians do a great job. Both ladies are very friendly and do a good Brazilian wax. Very clean place.

Unfortunately the man, who appears to run the shop (manager, owner?) is somewhat rude and condescending. I had some problems even though I was getting two services done from them that day. I expected to be treated a bit better than I was but whatever. Still, the place shines because of the ladies that do great services.

I got a pedicure here and the polish chipped off within the week. I've had a better pedicure elsewhere. Maybe it's the polish used but based on my pedicure, I cannot recommend getting one done here. I had one done recently somewhere else at the same price and the lady paid more attention to detail and it lasted for much longer.

My previous review was a 5-star just for the waxing but because of the not-so-friendly owner/manager and disappointing pedicure, I'd say my experience has gone down to 3.5-stars.

Overall, this is a great shop to get a Brazilian wax. Waxing estheticians are friendly, courteous and do a great job while minimizing pain. See my previous review if you want more details about the waxing experience.. cuz I know you do!

Ok - I won't go into too much detail here but I know a good Brazilian wax when I get one.. LOL!

I gotta give props to Thuy - she knows her shiz, and after running across town so many times using Groupon-type vouchers to score what appears to be a "deal" on Brazilian waxes, no amazing price can come in between the trust one has with their waxer.

After months of going to Thuy for my brows and other non-female parts, I figured, what the heck, she's pretty much seen it all, I might as well show her my yoohoo too (yay it rhymed!).

I won't elaborate here, but I will just say one thing: GET your Brazilian done by Thuy.

She uses a great technique - doesn't do majorly big parts all at once, but takes her time, rips it off quick and applies pressure right away to minimize the pain. I swear, this is the first Brazilian I've ever gotten where I didn't have to wipe away any sweat generated by this seemingly tortuous process.

I'm sold! I told her, even if she moves to Sarnia, I will drive through snowstorms see her every month.

My pedicurist (didn't catch her name) was extremely attentive, cheerful and very nice. I had probably the best experience I've ever had from a pedicurist...she took notice of the UGGs i wore for my appt (eeeks) and wrapped my toes in cellophane to prevent ruining it. My manicurist was quiet but efficient.

GO. TO. THUY. FOR YOUR FIRST BRAZILIAN. shes just amazing and doesnt make you feel uncomfortable at all, explaining what shes doing throughout the whole procedure. shes very thorough, going over with the twizzer (ouch!!) for the hair that didnt get pulled out. all this and i didnt feel uncomfortable. she was so professional about everything. on top of that, as a cherry on top, they only charged me $30 instead of the regular price of $35 for first time brazilian! ive already decided that i'm going to be a regular here. :)

I've been religiously going to Nailsense for the past year and absolutely love this place! This place offers nail and waxing services, facials, spa parties, tinting's, and massages.

Nailsense is calm, modern, extremely clean, shiny, and has a super- friendly staff that are excellent at what they do and make you feel amazing. Tien, the owner of this place truly cares about his customers and is completely professional.

    Brazilian wax: ($30)-
This is the best place to get a Brazilian wax! I've received my brazilians from both aestheticians at Nailsense (Thuy & Kim) and they both do a quick and extremely thorough job without having you go into very awkward positions. They are gentle and help you get through the entire procedure while offering breaks if you need them. Both aestheticians wear gloves and never double-dip into the wax to ensure cleanliness. I have absolutely no pain tolerance and getting brazilians from here is not that scary since both Kim and Thuy are amazing at what they do and really know how to ease most of the discomfort by using their techniques.

    Manicure: ($15)-
Getting a manicure here is so relaxing. You're placed in front of a huge flat screen TV playing cute movies while your nails are being done. The manicurist opens a new and clean package in front of you that contain the utensils that are used on your nails. Each nail is done with extreme care and precision, the hand massage will make you melt, and the hot scented towel used to wrap your hands feel amazing and help your hands absorb the moisturizer better to make them look soft and supple. I love their nail drying station and the overall results- so pretty!

Overall, Nailsense is a great place to get pampered by a caring and friendly staff for a reasonable price. Highly recommended!

I have been going to Nailsense for a couple of years now and I will never go anywhere else. I even took my wedding party here for a spa day before my wedding. They do excellent manicures, pedicure and waxing. Highly recommended!

When I moved to the neighborhood I was looking for a new great nail salon - and thanks to Yelp found Nailsense! Unfortunately, my first experience wasn't great (got cut a few times) but returned numerous times since and it's been nothing but great. I had the best pedicure of my life (helped with a lovely in-grown nail problem) and as someone mentioned they aren't shy about "getting in there". Excited I found this place!

I know a lot of people on this site love this place BUT I had a not so good experience here. I went on Dec 31st at 10 am. I wanted the Opium Axxium nail polish done on my hands with my manicure and a pedicure. The pedicure was good but when they were trimming my cuticles, they cut a bit too much on one of my fingers and it started a bleeding a little bit. Also, after the polish was complete I had black marks on my finger nails the next day just under my fingers. Not sure if it was because I wore dark clothes the day of and the day after but my nails looked really dirty. I had to pay $40 at another salon to remove them.

I will not be going back.

Still looking for an awesome nail salon place in Toronto close to TTC (subway).

Well I did it, I made the schlep!  I actually found a much better route then Avenue Rd.  I arrived just over half an hour early for my appointment this time and Thuy was available to take me in early.  Thankfully because as a newbie it took a little more time than I imagine a maintenance session would.

Does it hurt?  For a second there's the usual waxing rip of pain but gone a second later.  I did take two aspirin an hour before the appointment as Tien recommended and I can't be sure if that was necessary.  I'd like to think I could handle the discomfort unmanaged but won't know better till next time.

Yes, the place is immaculately clean.  Thuy is experienced and enjoys her work.  She told me how to maintain my wax to prevent ingrown hairs and definitely what not to do.

I would highly recommend this place and am glad to have it in my bag of tricks.  Every girl needs one you know ;)

nice clean place + great service + great prices= WOW...!
Just had my first brazilian wax this morning...
I got to admit, i was terrified before my appointment (my friends told me their bad experiences at other places), but she made me feel comfortable and explained every thing she was going to do plus gave me some tips on how to maintain.
In the end...it didn't hurt as much as i thought it was going to..no where close
THANKS THUY! i'll be back in a month =)

"NO PAIN NO GAME!!"  as Thuy says..haha

....and i'll be sure to bring my friend before that so we can both get a mani and pedi =D

A bit out of my way - but it was worth it.

Because I had had a previous unsatisfactory experience at another Toronto nail spa, I did a lot of research on yelp and on the web in general to find another place to get my UV gel refill.  It had been three weeks since I had gone to my old nail spa in Vancouver (was back for Thanksgiving!) and my nails were looking pretty ick.

My Vancouver nail technician had recommended that I ask a lot of questions about products and technique, in order to avoid another nail disaster.  Noticing the email booking option for Nailsense, and having read their detailed descriptions of their services on their website, I went ahead and emailed Tien my questions and even sent her a picture of my nails, hoping it would clarify what I was looking for (I'm ridiculous, I know!)

Tien was so helpful!  She consulted with her nail technician and emailed me back the same day with some suggestions that they came up with.  I booked an appointment for that very weekend to see Kim.

Kim was great!  She answered all my uv gel related questions, and explained what she would be doing and why it would look nice/like I wanted.  Her technique was excellent, and my nails are looking fabulous - I can't stop looking at them!  Thank you!

    General notes:
    - spa has a great atmosphere; it's relaxed and modern
    - tv plays chick flicks with closed captioning on, and relaxing "spa" music plays
    - very clean and sanitary - sanitizing equipment is prominently displayed (I like it when this happens)

Is a bit far for me, but they have really accommodating hours so I should be able to come after work!

A question has always popped my mind: How come celebrities, with their millions of dollars, are always 'papped' at seedy nail salons? I was always under the impression that the nicer joints and spas must be extremely pricey. Nailsense seems to be an anomaly in that respect, -the prices are fantastic.

Nailsense has an incredibly modern look and is not of the 'ladies who lunch' ambiance. Despite the location, it's very much a place one would expect a busy, interesting, cultured woman to pop-in, get their nails done while using free wifi, get an eyebrow shaping or a leg wax at their convenience.

I don't get professional mani/pedis done all that often(maybe a few times in the summer), but I do have more experience with salons for hair removal and brow shaping. Nailsense has to be the most efficient and well-managed salon by far. You can drop in, or make an appointment by phone or email, to which you'll get a prompt reply.

On my visit with fellow yelpers, I noticed their ample selection of nail polish colours from the get go. Their newest lines of OPI were placed on the front desk, and I picked up two colours from the 'Shrek' line that caught my eye immediately; Rumple's Wiggin'(lilac) for my fingers and What's With The Cattitude?(pale blue) for my toes. My mani/pedi-curist, Thuy, was most careful and attentive. She gave me a heavenly hand and leg massage which I wish was endless.

Everyone was so courteous and professional here, -I felt completely taken care of and at ease. There was no banter amongst the staff during the mani-pedis, just short whispers if a tool or polish was needed.

Is this the best nail salon in Toronto?

my first time writing a review, but I HAD to. This place really is as good as it gets in terms of mani-pedi. It has now been 10 days since I had my appointment and my hands are still in perfect condition! After TEN whole days of doing normal things! That is the first time ever in my life, and I'm starting to get bored of the color, but just want to see how long they can last.
In any case, I HIGHLY recommend this place. And for 35$ you won't find better.

The owner, Tien, emailed me due to my review.   Five stars for caring about his customers!

He obviously takes customer reviews seriously!  Tien explained to me that they are "testing a special portable nail salon fume extractor that is placed at the manicure table to capture and remove the fumes and dust before they become airborne."

I appreciated his reply and may go back one day and give them another chance.

I'm not usually one to review a nail salon, but THIS PLACE IS THE BOMB!

Went here today with a group of yelpers. You can book a group of people and everyone gets a spa pedi and mani done at the same time for a great price.

Nailsense was the cleanest nail salon I have ever seen. I mentioned to Janna S that it actually reminded me somewhat of a dentist's office, simply because it was so sterile looking (in a good way!)

For our "party" they have 8 beautiful spa pedicure chairs set up in a row and enough staff present that we could all get our nails done at the same time. We got a movie of our choice playing on a big flat screen mounted onto the opposite wall.

The manager stands by and keeps everyone organized, plus handed out free bottles of Perrier and a tray of macaroon treats!

The whole thing was brilliantly orchestrated. I highly recommend this place if you fancy a girls night, bachelorette or birthday event of some sort.

The staff was awesome and the decor is simple yet very posh.

I had heard a lot of this place, and though I live a little of a ways from here, I was dying to try it out and see how good it really was.

I made an appointment for me and my friend, and when we arrived we were warmly greeted by the owner, who confirmed our names and asked us to pick out our colours. So many choices! All OPI and Chinese Glaze. :)

The name of the girl that did my pedicure was Doung, and she was amazing! It was the best and most thorough pedi my poor, tired feet have ever gotten. I was left with baby-smooth feet and bright coloured tootsies!

We then had our mani's done while our toes dried, and the girl who did all the prep work on my hands ( cuticle cutting, nail filing) was also great. She had to leave ( it was almost 9:00pm, their closing time) and so another girl took over to apply the colour. Again, flawless!

Coincidentally I also bumped into a school mate of mine who works there, and as a courtesy for being her friend, both my friend and I were given a 10% discount on our mani pedis. So sweet of the owner to do this!

I have to remark that the place is spotless. The cleanest and most organized nail salon I have ever been to, A new package is opened right in front of you before your pedi is started, and this really made me feel safe and satisfied that everything is safe and hygienic. I saw the tubs be thoroughly disinfected after every single client, and the floors were swifered constantly.

I think my friend ended up getting a girl that was new, and so her pedi wasn't as good (some dry skin was not pumiced enough) and when she mentioned this to the owner he immediately apologized and booked her in for a redo. How professional of him! This really speaks volumes of his standards and desire to please his clientele.

I will definitely return here, again, and again, and again. actually, I don't think I will ever go anywhere else for a mani-pedi. They are defiantly worth the trip for me. :)

Thank-you NAILSENSE for the best mani-pedi service of my life!

Went here in the summer (July - I believe) because of the reviews here on Yelp.
    Pros:
*Wasn't busy and took my girlfriend and I as walk-ins.
    *Clean establishment.
    *Attentiveness
    *Sterile equipment.

    What we didn't like:

*We were BOTH nipped and bled by our individual assistants whilst they were removing dead tissue from the sides of our toes!  Although they apologized profusely, it didn't take the pain away.
*We received a 2 minute foot massage that was highly ineffective.
*I don't have a calloused and hardened heel, so I don't know why my healthy heel was being scrubbed to death until I said something.
*The nail polish was applied in a way that looked like I had already had one weeks growth of nail.  I didn't bother saying anything.
*After all of that they almost refused to honor the Yelp promo, because I had not emailed ahead on that particular date ( I had already emailed and cancelled two previous bookings).

We haven't been back, because there are too many other establishments that give all around better service.  Yes they cost more, but I don't mind paying to be pampered.

Everytime I come here it's a pleasant relaxing experience. This is like my restorative yoga ;) Service was excellent as always. Enjoyed watching Confessions of a Shopaholic whilst getting my french mani & pedi ^^

I had to wait 10 mins in the beginning as one of the estheticians had come in late. Thien was extremely apologetic but honestly it wasn't a big deal. He even gave me 10% off in the end! Really nice of him.

I'm going to come back regularly... & also going to treat my bms here before the big day next yr ^^

I went here after reading all these reviews on yelp and decided to go since there was a 10% discount for yelp-ers.

What impressed me what that it was super clean! overall the colour choices weren't bad but i personally like Essie and they did not have that many options for Essie. I also like to try the new colours that come out every season from OPI and Essie when getting my nails done because it helps me decide which ones to buy, but they didn't have the newest collections.

The staff were friendly but overall i felt kind of awkward being there. No one was talking.. it was almost dead silent and whenever i did speak it felt strange to.

Overall, it was nice and clean but I'm going to stick to my usual place because I've developed relationships with the staff there. Being able to talk to one another gives the place a more welcoming atmosphere.

I have been to Nailsense several times now and I would have to say that this salon stands out in Toronto.  First of all, you can book your appointment through email and they provide very prompt response.  The nail salon is covered with spotless white floor.  At one of my pedicure appointments, the owner mopped the floor 5 times and wiped the counter twice.  I was told that every year during the Christmas holidays, the owner will scrub the place top to bottom and repaint it.

Their services such as manicure and pedicure are very thorough.  I had a regular manicure done by Khanh and it lasted me over 2 weeks considering I was doing lots of cooking, dishes and sports every day.  If a regular manicure can last me over 2 weeks, I wonder how long a Shellac manicure will last me.  I love their nice and clean packaged sterilized tools that they open right in front of you.  It really reassures their cleanliness.

Their Brazilian wax is the best in town.  Both Kim and Thuy are very gentle.  They wax small areas at a time and use as many strips as required.  They do not double dip.  They explain the procedure very well and even provide after care tips.  If you have any specific questions or concerns, the owner will research the answers for you or even have the esthetician call you directly.  The pain level for their Brazilian wax is next to none.  Also, if you listen carefully, the owner doesn't use the term Brazilian wax at the cash register.  He would just say waxing which I find very professional.  I personally don't have a problem if he was to use the actual term, but to alleviate embarrassment his choice of word is perfect just like his staffs and services!

This is probably the BEST NAILS SALON I'VE EVER BEEN IN MY WHOLE LIFE OMG AWESOME BBQ!!!111

It's beautiful, the staff treats you like you're a member from the Royal Family, the girls are so cute it hurts.

And what about the mani/pedi? First, they have the best pedicure spa chairs in the worldddddd.  Now seat back and relax.... You'll be lead into the zen world of the magic pedicure.  Astonishing massages, whirlpool colourful spas, delightful smells. Everything is planned to make you feel like paradise.

Obviously you'll end up walking in clouds.

The mani unfortunately doesn't offer any mini-spa, but I'm sure you'll fall asleep as soon as your manicurist start to massage your hands. You're only waking up after having them wrapped in hot towels.

Obviously they offer the basics: lots of OPI colours, drying station, etc.

Make yourself a favor and go to Nailsense, is almost an escape to nirvana.

Every girl needs a good place to get waxed... I've been on the hunt for a good place to get a brazilian wax in Toronto for a while and I'm so glad I stumbled upon Nail Sense (I was recommended by a good friend of mine who comes here religiously for her mani/pedi/wax for 5+ years) I've had bad waxes before and they leave you dreading the next wax appointment. It was different with Nail Sense... I was pretty relaxed throughout the entire session and it was relatively painless. Thuy did an amazing job talking me through the entire process and she was extremely thorough which I really appreciate!

So here are the reasons why I highly recommend this place (at least for a brazilian wax):
CLEANLINESS - this place sparkles! It's clean which is important for hygienic reasons!
PRICE - a brazilian wax is only $30 which is much cheaper than other spas or nail salons!
LOCATION - it's midtown and relatively close to the Lawrence TTC subway station
PROFESSIONALISM - Thuy was so thorough and friendly. The wax job took about 30 minutes but she's quick at pulling off the wax which made it pretty painless

Honestly, I'm not going anywhere else for a brazilian wax. This place is cheap, clean and gets the job done very well. And I can even book appointments with them on my Blackberry! They respond to your e-mails to confirm your appointment within minutes!
