The vibe: Ultra modern, clean, French patisserie that looks like it could be Willy Wonka's science lab. Look inside the glass counter and your eyes will marvel at all the wonderful colours of the pastries, macarons and cakes. The people behind Nadege are artists as much as they are magicians in the kitchen.

The food: The macarons are absolutely delicious. So many flavours. They make a great gift. If you're stopping in for lunch grab some soup and a sandwich. I love the goat cheese and fig croissant. Another little treat I like to grab is the canelé, baked custard bites of delight.

The drinks: Delicious espresso and lattes.

My go-to meal: The breakfast croissant. Scrambled eggs, bacon and tomato. Yes, it sounds simple. But man, is it ever mighty.

Secret: If you're crushing on a lady, buy her a box of macarons.

Spring is the time for pastels and pretty-ness - like high tea, scones, cupcakes, and macarons.

I've been wanting to try Nadège, and I finally made it down to Queen West.  It only took a few months.  I'm lazy.

Their displays are really eye-catching.  Mostly because it's simply all laid out.  Colourful and inviting.

I didn't get to try their sandwiches because I went for the macarons.  But based on looks alone - because sometimes that's all that matters - their fig sandwich looked amazing.

I read that their croissants and macarons are perhaps in 'the best of the city'.
I'll be the judge of that.  I had the salted caramel, and she was precious.  Delicious, great flavour, not too sweet, but a bit too chewy.

I liked that Nadège has a wide assortment and that they're not sloppy.  But would I say it's the best macaron in Toronto?  No, but it made the "better" list.

Better is always better than bad.

I'll keep it short and simple: La Bamboche is better. MUCH better.

Oh, Nadege, you vixen. Your croissants make me quiver in a way that makes blush.  I remember the first time, and certainly, it was not going to be my last.
I love, love, love this place.  Granted, it is a bit on the pricey side, however, a girl like me doesn't mind throwing down a few bucks for an experience of the truly divine.  Located in the corner just adjacent to Trinity Bellwoods Park, this little white shop dazzles with a magic array of pastries, macaroons, cookies, sandwiches, and of course, coffee, lattes, and tea.   And, it's all very pretty.  Even the tea bags are pretty.  Pretty, pretty, pretty.  I do recommend.  Yes, indeed, I do.

This is a top knotch MACARON review!
I've seen the photos of this clean white interior. I was really excited to come into this store with rows and rows of macarons but was actually surprised that there were only 6 or 7 flavours. One would call me greedy but I just had another perception in my mind.
These five stars goes to the 5 amazing bites of my macaron..nothing else. I look for the following things:

    1. Appearance..is the shape round, are there legs, is it evenly shaped
    2. Texture...is it as soft cake like texture, is there a hollow hole in the middle
    3. Filling...what is used to make the filling.. Buttercream, jams, other and is it heavy tasting
    4. True to its word....does the macaron actually taste like the flavor it claims to be
    5. Satisfaction...am I overall pleased with my experience.

Two macarons were ordered.. Salted caramel and cassis. They were both out of this world burst with the ultimate flavor. Although the caramel one did not taste salted, the richness of the caramel blew me away. The cassis was so evident that I was actually surprised with its taste.

The colors of purple and yellow always brightens my day and the taste definitely exceeded my expectation. The buttercream was not heavy and I was not left parched...but instead wanting another macaron.

If you suck at making decisions like I do, then you'll be standing at the counter 4-ever.

I finally decided on the salted caramel tart, I'm sure the choices don't stay the same.  It was ah-mazing.

I had just had a birthday lunch with a friend and we came here for dessert and coffee.

I picked up some cookies and chocolates for my husband as a bit of a Christmas treat, next time I want to grab some marshmallows.  Everything was delicious.

They had some pretty tasty looking sandwiches.

They are famous for the macaroons, which I  can live without, although I did not try them at Nadege.

As a side note, Nadege herself made my latte!

Small cute seating area, nice take home packaging.

The word is orgasmic. If Tuna Melt at Fran's will make you forget your mother's name... Nadege will make you forget your name. I ordered cafe americano and Nadege's is one of the best. There's a bunch of mini dessert  you can choose from - everything is delicious.

The ambience is heaven-like... literally. The all white concept provides an aura of cleanliness and of huge halls. Looks like a MOMA installation. Is this Toronto? Yes it is!

The service is also impeccable. Once you place your order and after paying at the cash, they bring your order to the table ... on a plate. Servers are all friendly.

    I will definitely come back.

I walked past Nadege one day and marked it on my "places to go list" for a future visit (Ok, I don't really have a list - I just told someone to remind me) - and finally made it there for a Saturday lunch.

Immediately we were greeted and asked what we want. We ordered two sandwiches - one a turkey with home made cranberry sauce, one a salami with brie cheese, and luckily found a seat. The first "hm, maybe this place is too expensive for me" moment came with our sandwiches came to $20 - but luckily they were totally delicious (though teeny tiny).

We then went up for a "dessert round" and had 4 macarons (pistachio, rose, cappuccino and the strange one, chestnuts and cranberry) - which were quite attractive and well made. However, since having macarons in Paris, I've become a bit of a snob and really don't think the flavors stood out as much as I would have hoped, especially considering these four tiny desserts cost an additional $10.

One big flaw about the ordering system is that everything is extremely rushed - I didn't even know they had soup until the person seated next to me got their order. I was especially disappointed because the soup looked absolutely amazing! I just feel like it would be extremely helpful to have a menu listed somewhere, or at least give people a little more time to decide before rushing them through.

Another note of annoyance was the "no pictures" rule. They couldn't prevent me taking pictures of my own food though! (HA!).

Overall, I'm happy I came here to try what seems to be a delicious sandwich shop for rich Torontonians, however, I doubt I'll be back. I'm not opposed to spending on food, but I want the price to match the experience, quality and quantity of food, which Nadege didn't quite achieve!

Seated at a shaded picnic table in Trinity Bellwoods on a beautiful sunny day this summer, Jeff D and I set out to determine who makes the best chocolate almond croissant. The contenders: Clafouti vs Nadege.

Being largely biased toward Clafouti for it's cozy charm over Nadege's stark white and seemingly impersonal interior, I did my best to keep an open mind.

Price-wise, I think the difference was only 5 cents or so - nothing that tipped the scales in favour of one or the other.

Nadege ultimately won by a nose for texture (the perfect ratio of crispy exterior to flakey and then gooey interior) and for having perhaps just a little bit more almond paste than Clafouti's offering.

It was a VERY close race, but ultimately (after what seemed like WAY too much deliberation over a pastry) we both agreed: Nadege has the edge.

I had THE yummiest almond chocolate croissant, EVER.  The Smoked salmon and cream cheese croissant is delicious although considering the caliber and price point of this place, they should be using wild smoked salmon rather than farmed/atlantic.

My latte was the perfect temperature and was super yum.  What a difference from the meh starbucks lattes I typically drink.

Lovely little spot- I HIGHLY recommend.

Absolutely loved the perfectly made, delicious, and flavorful macarons. They're not too expensive, and my kids loved picking out a few for themselves. We tried some of the pastries and found them very good, and beautifully designed & decorated. Almost too pretty to eat. The croissants and pains au chocolat are as good as it gets.

Sweet tooth, prepare to meet your match.
These macaroons melt in your mouth. Heaven!
There are TONS of flavours. They are all eyeroll-inducing.
Plus I have a slight obsession with all things French...which includes this place.

There are cute tables where you can sit and enjoy your dessert, sandwich, drink (?), etc. I just got a box of macaroons to go.
    2.10 each, 24 for a dozen.

I brought them to a party.
They were so good, we went back after the party to get more.

Future boyfriend: BRING ME HERE, and I will ask nothing else of you.

Quite the amazing macaron. We walked by Saturday night, and couldn't help but go in. A simple white decor only made the candy colored macarons and pastries stand out even more.

Next question: what flavour to get? We decided on cassis and salted caramel.

Verdict: super awesome flavours. The cassis was true to flavour, the filling was just right. Then the salted caramel: one small bite and it was bursting with a strong sweet caramel flavour. A perfect light crisp shell; the layer of buttercream was so good. I didn't really taste the salted part, but nevertheless, it was caramel amazingness.

I can't believe it's taken me this long to review Nadege considering I got a croissant here every weekend in the summer. All the variations are delicious, but I especially enjoy the chocolate almond variety. Plus the macaroons are equally good.

I would say the plain croissants are better across the street, but the flavoured ones are better here and you're more likely to find the place well stocked.

While roaming Queen Street toward the twilight hours, it was time to find a place to take a break, and Nadege presented itself as an appealing option, its corner storefront with big windows looking into a huge counter of colorful pastries.  Inside, this bright, streamlined store of whites and woods has about 10 small tables, some bar seats in front of the windows and shelves with packaged goods, opposite the long counter encasing a neat, uncrowded, and beautiful display of pastries, lined up like little soldiers.

The single serving pastry offerings are interesting (I wanted to try the Earl Grey & Grapefruit Tart).  They have a big selection of macarons, lined up in a rainbow of colors.  Also saw various croissants on offer, apparently a specialty of theirs, including cute little croissant sandwiches.  Coffees and teas for drinking.  Plenty of staff behind the counter, attentive and helpful.

We tried a few macarons and one of the pastries.  The chocolate pastry was tasty, not too sweet, nice creamy interior.  My friend gave the macarons a thumbs up.

Nice place.  Undeniably on the expensive side, but the products are beautiful and well-made.

Yes, the macarons here are very good. I tried the vanilla and capuccino; both were excellent in taste and texture.

Yes, the employees seem a little...cold. Is it because all the sugar goes into the baked goods? Can they not spare a little bit of sweetness?

Finally, yes, the space is really clean and beautiful, but almost...too clean. This isn't the kind of place I want to hang out with a cup of coffee and a book. In fact, I felt a little nervous to spill a crumb for fear of disturbing the pristine whiteness of everything. Next time, I'll go buy a dozen macarons and eat them one by one on my bed.

Mmmmmmacarons!!! Although I enjoy them, I usually find macarons overly sweet but these ones were just perfect in sweetness. They were delicious and perfect and the salty caramel flavour was amazing and creamy and honestly the best macaron I've ever had.

The croissants were also excellent; flaky but substantial, with a nice buttery flavour.  And even though I bought them at the end of the day and then walked 3 km in the rain (uphill!!) then left them in the bag for a few hours, they were still fresh and delicious. I'm sure they're even better if you get them earlier and not at the end of the day like me.

The espresso was high quality; what you would expect from a good bistro or bakery but not a dedicated coffee shop like dark horse or sense appeal which would be serving something complex and ordered exactly to taste.

The person who helped me was friendly and helpful, giving me recommendations where I asked and not making me feel stupid for asking basic questions about the food and prices.

This bakery is very modern and cute. I split a dozen macarons with my friend. What I learn about macarons is that I love the chewy-like texture macarons but for some reason only certain flavours have that texture. The macarons here are very nice and almost as  nice as Ladurée. My friend and I made the mistake of eating our macarons throughout the day. Since the macarons were chilled at the bakery, it didn't taste as good close to the end of the day. I would suggest that you eat the macarons as soon as possible because it tastes a lot better chilled than warm.

The price here is obviously very expensive, but it's "cheap" compared to other bakeries. I would come back here if it wasn't so far. As well, my friend "got in trouble" for taking pictures of the bakery for her blog so that also put me off from going to their bakery (after all, it's word of mouth that probably popularized their bakery).

The first time I dropped by Nadege, I had no idea what it was... I was just intrigued by this white and pristine-looking spot located on my usual shopping strip (aka Queen West).

The pastries were all beautifully displayed against the sterile looking white tops. I thought the macarons looked especially gorgeous and couldn't resist getting a few (which quickly turned into a dozen). At $2.10 per macaron (or $24 for a dozen), they're pretty pricey for this bite-sized sweet. But oh-so-delicious for a once-in-a-while treat! I've tried the vanilla, chocolate orange, salted caramel, cappuccino, pure chocolate, mojito, cassis, hazelnut cranberry and the blackberry chocolate. My favourite is definitely the salted caramel. Amazing!

Nadege also has a variety of croissants. I've tried the chocolate one which I can't really judge since I ate it several hours after purchasing it and it was quite humid during the day. However, I did have the plain croissant immediately and although it was a solid croissant, I didn't find it to be flakey or buttery enough.

I've always been tempted by the dessert display, but have never tried them yet. At up to $8 for a small tart, I would hope they're pretty damn amazing. If you're looking for great value, you definitely won't find it here, that's for sure.

Overall, I enjoyed what I've had here so far. Just wish the servers were a bit more warm and friendly. I found them to be a bit cold and intimidating...like the decor.

    I was underwhelmed.

I had two macaroons, which came to almost $5? Thats pricey! But I thought, maybe these are super tasty macaroons, and worth every penny. I had a pistachio, and something coffee flavoured. Both had a beautiful elegant taste, a light tasting cookie (if such a things exists) with distinct flavour. But then the cookie was gone, and I was left feeling still rather hungry, and wondering what I had spent $5 on.

I'm going to be honest, there was a slight 'stale' taste to my cookies. Very slight. But again, if you can imagine paying the extra price for nice cookies, they should be tasting extra-nice!

The actual store is very cool, and I did enjoy looking at display of treats.

I would really like to give this place a 3.5 instead of a four. My go-to place in my neighbourhood is Aroma, and their chocolate croissants are amazing. I saw something similar at Nadege and had to try it. They served it cold and the chocolate wasn't as sweet. I would have to give the edge to Aroma.

It seemed the macarons were the most popular item, and rightfully so. They had a lot of varieties. They didn't taste too sweet, kind of like a cookie sandwich. I'm not really sure what they're supposed to taste like, or how much they should cost, but I had to resist eating more than a couple. They are $2.10 each or $24 for a dozen.

For some reason I did find the staff a little standoffish. Maybe it was because I was there at the end of the day and they were just tired. They just didn't seem happy. I always assumed bakeries and pastry shops had the most cheerful employees for some reason.

I came here after hearing the hype and for my love of French macarons. I sat down on a Saturday afternoon and ordered three - salted caramel, cappuccino and pitachio. All were delicious thgh my salted caramel was hollow shell .. not something u want with a good macaron. I think they would have also been better had I come in the morning when they were fresher.

I will say service was a tad slow imo. Do I rly have to wait around so three macarons and bottled soda can be brought to me ? Waitress seemed quite disorganized.

Asides from that its a great place to sit down and relax on an afternoon.

This place looks like it was designed by someone who's obsessed with 2001: A Space Odyssey

Totally sterile, totally clean - the only elements of color in the room come from the tiny macaroons behind the glass.

It's a pricey joint, but it's right beside the park, has a nice selection of teas, and is a good place to get into an argument with HAL 9000.

Neat freaks, rejoice. This is the spot for you. This spotless, colour-less, white cube of a coffee shop is the cleanest, most organized, most WHITE bakery I have ever visited. The walls are white, the tables are white, the china is white, and the enclosed bakery with large glass allows customers to watch the white-garbed bakers prepare more macarons and croissants while you sip and snack.

I stopped by for a post-dinner coffee; but we actually both had tea. They sell a huge variety of Kusmi Tea (which is a Russian/Parisian company) that sells very pricey, but very delicious tea. They have every flavour you could want, and more.. We both selected teas from their more colourful "wellness" line called Sweet Love with liquorice roots and guarana seeds  and Be Cool with peppermint and liquorice- - both were very enjoyable, and served in little white tea pots with a tea cup and saucer.

Since I gave up baked goods for Lent, this place was the ultimate tease - everything looks and smells delicious. The rows of colourful macarons seem popular - the tables next to us were sampling a few, but they also have delicous looking tarts and cakes, as well as large fluffy croissants. I also didn't realize they sell sandwiches (served on the delicous-looking croissants). It would be a great place for a quick bite (although seating is limited - a few tables and a row of bar stools). I will definitley have to return to sample the treats.

Also - great service! Very friendly girls at the cash.

I finally made it out to Nadege.  Although it felt like I had to walk through the Bronx to arrive here (as walking along various intersections of Queen Street West can be nerve-wracking with all the "ecclectic" people that hang out on its curbs)... I made it!  Here's my verdict...

Macarons:  I got the Vanilla, Pistachio, Salted Caramel and Chestnut flavoured macarons.  I personally had the salted caramel and chestnut ones.  Texture-wise, 5 stars, taste-wise, 4 stars because I found the macarons to be too sweet.  As a result, it wouldn't have mattered what the flavours of the Macarons were, the sugar would've overpowered their key/signature ingredient.  I have only had Macarons from Petite Thuet, McEwan's @ Don Mills, and now, Nadege.  Hands down, Nadege has been the best among the 3.

Croissants: I bought plain butter and almond croissants, as well as a pain au chocolat. I personally had the almond croissant. Unfortunately, I bought it towards the end of the day, and didn't actually eat it until this morning... But it was still really yummy!

I think I preferred the croissant over the macarons and can't wait to try the other varieties.  I walked out $20 poorer.  While the goodies at Nadege are not cheap, its a pastry shop that is worth indulging in every now and then.  I probably wouldn't go out of my way to visit Nadege, but if I'm in the area I'd definitely stop by.

I will agree with other Yelpers that the overall experience would be more pleasant if only the owner could somehow get its staff to smile, or maybe s/he is the reason they don't smile?  Maybe someone should botox the right muscles to make sure they have a permanent smile.

Finally got to try this place!  The interior is bright, clean, modern, with a great view of Trinity-Bellwoods Park.  Service was mediocre, I was served by two very snotty girls.

I ordered several macarons (chestnut, mojito, blackberry, salted caramel).  The flavours and textures were quite good, however, one was rock hard stale.  I also ordered three mini canele, which also had a stale one in the bunch.  The canele flavour was right up my alley though: rich, eggy, vanilla-beany, like a chewy creme brulee the size of a thimble.

I find for the price though, the level of freshness was inconsistent.  I would visit again only if I was in the area, but it's not worth a drive in from the surrounding GTA.

Having sometime on my hands while on a Queen Street  West stroll, I was stopped in my tracks by the curious plain white walled establishment with the big window.  With the reflection, I couldn't really see inside and spent a few seconds trying to figure out what it was.  A closer look revealed the glimpse of a croissant on display inside and I serendipitously decided to walk in.

Absolute yum!  The macarons were recommended as the specialty and I choose a $2.10 cassis and chocolate one (could be wrong with the combination, can't remember!) and a cappuccino.  The macaron was very pretty and packed a delicious and flavourful punch.  It's a bit pricey for something so small, but really, one shouldn't be having more than one or two at a time anyway.

The austere, clean and white interior decoration really isn't all that welcoming.  It's definitely not a place that you would call 'charming', but the bright white decor with the sunny view of Trinity Bellwoods park does what it needs to do - showcase the delicious and colourful artistry of the pastries on hand.

Finally stopped here to try their macarons.  With its white, sterile-feel interior it's a place where you do not want to have any crumbs left after eating.   Service was adequate but not particularly warm.
I tried the salted caramel and chocolate blackberry macaron.  While macarons are usually sweet, the salted caramel was really, really sweet.   It's probably best paired with a unsweetened tea or coffee.  I preferred the chocolate blackberry macaron.  It had a dense dark chocolate layer that went very well with the blackberry. Yummeh.  I'll have to come back to try their pastries/desserts.

Looking for some of the yummiest macarons in the city! Look no further!

I convinced my husband to make a detour to this place after reading some of the reviews of other fellow yelpers and HAD TO hit this place up.  A couple of weeks after visiting Montreal's awesome Point G I soon found myself needing my macaron fix.

We bought 12 macarons (I wish I could have bought a dozen more), but the salted caramel was the best that I've had so far. I did like Point G's salted caramel which was a little more subtle, but Nadege's had that real intense sweet and salty flavour. They even had a mojito flavour that was bang on! Pistachio was also a favourite and they had the standard fare of chocolate and vanilla which you just can't go wrong with.

    Nadege..Nadege..Nadege. oh sigh.

Thank you! Thank you! Those macarons were absolute heaven!

I love this place and visit whenever in in Toronto. All the macarons are top notch and the tarts are great too.

    Go on...have another.

A visit to Nadege Patisserie is not complete unless you try more than one delectable. That's my belief for any Patisserie. In order to grasp the chef's true talents you have to try it all - or maybe this is my excuse to not feel guilty, while indulging in three baked goods. Oh well!

I've walked in a few times but didn't order anything until this past weekend. I was a little intimidated by the delicate looking patisserie and the starkness of the place. When I think of Patisserie I equate it to warmth so I guess I was scared off at first by the 'whiteness' of the place...seemed a bit too sterile. I shouldn't have judged because the pastries are anything but!

The chef is a fourth generation baker from Lyon. I have to say, she's one of the few people who have managed to capture the essence found in French Patisserie. Not many places in Toronto have mastered this.

I decided to indulge in three buttery baked goods.

PAIN AU CHOCOLAT: Impressed! I've had a few in Toronto and she's the only one who puts two chocolate strips inside - the French way! I don't know how long it was sitting there but it still had that flaky buttery freshness. Only complaint - could have been more buttery. Disgusting I know, but you've found a good croissant/pain au chocolat when the bag goes translucent.

COCONUT BANANA: Very good! This one was my favorite. I've never had a French baked pastry quite like this. Perfect balance of the two main ingredients. A must try.

PISTACHIO: Very good too. I didn't really get a big enough bite because my family pounced on it. From the small bite, I can say, Pistachio was the star and that made me happy.

Take a trip to Nadege. Even if its just to stare at the beautiful delicate creations. Worth the calories!

SIDENOTE: Get ready to spend...the little ones don't come cheap.

Here is a tip for all my Enemies out there.  Dust your Pastries with Powder Sugar overload and I'm sure I will eventually choke to death on one of them.  If I don't choke, then it's unfortunate for you because I will cough right in your face with all the Almond Croissant residue with it.  I wonder if my Friend got this Pastry to share on purpose or not?!?

My spray of Almond Croissant would of been a beautiful backdrop to anywhere in this WHITE clean setting with perfect product placement and organization of each Pastry much like how Eye Glasses are displayed in Optical Shops.  I could probably put a $300 label on my spray which would include some TAN Coffee & Clafouti Croissant as a bonus, anyone interested?

Almond Croissant($3.00{?}) had it's share of Almond nuttiness after the initial bite into the Almond slivers.  There is no doubt there was Almond as the highlight that is if you don't spew from the Powder Sugar clumps rather than light dusting.  The exterior shell was Crispy and the interior seemed to have a Cakey mixture which makes this a Dessert as it is intended.

I do give them that every Pastry simply looked like a piece of Art, however they do charge Masterpiece prices as I look at the Marshmallows($5.00{wtf}) which was good but shouldn't demand that price considering the portion size and the simple inexpensive ingredients.   2.5 *Star*

Does this place still look immaculate during rain or snow?

Love the location, looking right into Trinity Bellwoods Park. It's always packed on the weekends. Luckily, i managed to venture there on a Monday afternoon and snagged a table right outside and hung out for an hour with my ice latte and salted caramel tart, both of which were great.
When I have another day-off during the weekday, i'll be sure to come back here.

I'd definitely go back if I am in the area.  Probably wouldn't drive across town to go there.

A beautiful store, crisp minimalism decor, uncluttered and elegant.  Outdoor seating area or the long table facing the window provides a great view of the Trinity Bellwoods Park across the street.

Croissants are not very buttery or flaky, a tad on the dry side.  I've never gone first thing in the morning, hopefully the fresh ones are better?

Macarons are okay, once I got a really dense and cakey one and pointed out to them, they didn't offer any explanation other than "oh, that's strange" but promptly deducted it from the bill.  I would have preferred thicker fillings and less sweet, but overall not bad macarons.

Cakes/tarts/tortes look very nice.  Will be happy to try them when in the area again.
