OMG. MyService is a life saver!
I had taken my computer to TechRoom back in 2010, and they offered to replace my LCD screen with a non Apple screen that cost $425. Mind you, this screen was a. not Apple, b. HAD DEFECTS, c. their technicians had applied pressure and the screen was not fully working to Apple standards, but just enough to use. Also, they had forgotten to replace the screws on my bezel, which SEVERELY damaged my computer. I don't see why I would have taken the screws out myself since my computer was fixed, but whatever. The past is pass.
Regardless, MyService has done wonders on my computer at a cheap price with NEW APPLE PARTS. The screen was $249!!!
THANK YOU MYSERVICE! -

They did a great job refurbishing a MacBook Pro of mine which I was able to then send to my niece as a birthday gift for about a quarter of the price of a new one -- and with the brand new hard drive, she should get three or four years out of this before she needs an upgrade!

Small company of super mac specialists! I had them upgrade components a 6+ year old powerbook, and for a few hundred dollars it was running way better. They also upgraded the RAM in an iMac in less than $10 minutes while I waited and paid. They're great at small and large repairs alike, I'd trust them with my mac repairs any day.

Quick & Dirty: MyService has to be the EASIEST way to get your Mac fixed!! These guys are fantastic.
Long & Fixed:
My Mac Book hard drive recently took a big steaming dump and I needed to get a new one. I looked locally and read reviews on Yelp for nearby businesses but they all were wishy-washy, which left me a little concerned. I found that most places required a "Diagnostic Fee" and others took too long to get the job done or had poor customer service. I decided to see if there was anything else online and POOF, there was MyService.
From the start it couldn't have been any easier. They send you a box to ship your computer off in and you buy what you need online. Once your computer gets there they do a FREE diagnostic to see what's wrong and then call you to tell you what they found. In addition to me needing a HD my hinge was bent and the case scratched. They offered to fix these cosmetic issues but I decided it wasn't necessary. Did they pressure me like a used car salesman? Nope. Do I now LOVE them for that? YES.
Should you use them? Yes.
Would I use them again? Hopefully I won't need to use MyService again any time soon but if I do I will definitely be back!
Shutting Down,
Sam -

Super fast, highly professional, very competent service. Recommended.
My Macbook Pro hard drive crashed: MyService diagnosed the problem, replaced the hard drive with a new one, and restored all my applications and data perfectly from a Time Machine backup that I supplied, all in about 36 hours.
MyService turned what could have been a nightmare into a routine fix with no hassles. Great customer service as well, very friendly and helpful folks. -

I've sent my laptop to myservice 3 times, the first time for some water damage on my keyboard and had that replaced. second time for my hard drive going out and the third time for a DOA optical drive. Every time my laptop arrived working and in EVEN BETTER condition than i sent it to them in. It seems like they clean your laptop whenever you send it in, which i really dig. They even gave me a discount when i had a few things done at once!
okay yes there prices are a little high but are you gonna work on your mac your self? i'm A+ certified and i hate digging around on the inside of my laptop, cause apple laptops are SUPER hard to work on, i always feel like i'm gonna break something, i'd rather pay extra and get the peace of mind. especially for something like a keyboard replacement on a MBP.
What makes myservice the best company freggin ever is after i had my optical drive and my HD flex cable replaced the laptop arrived without the optical drive working still, it was a new hard drive but it simply didn't work. i urgently needed it fixed because i needed to do a bootcamp install on my laptop for school this semester, not to mention i'm taking mostly online classes and they comp'd me free 2 day shipping so i could get my laptop bask asap. 6 days later and i have it back and everything is working great. -

I've had great luck with MyService. It performed a tricky repair to the case of my MacBook Pro very quickly and at a competitive price. Later, when I needed a new battery, MyService was the first place I thought to patronize; the battery was in stock and I had it in my unit in two minutes flat, before I even left the shop. They're great on the phone, too; I've never had a sense of "hide the ball" that one gets from some shops that want to discourage freeloader tech support questions. All told, my experiences have been great and I recommend (and actually have recommended) MyService to any Mac owner.

I've used MyService several times to repair laptops and perform upgrades. They are prompt, communicative and provide quotes over the phone.
Another bonus is they are an official Apple service provider. They can fix your laptops that are still under warranty. I hate going into local Apple stores in the malls, as they are over crowded and under staffed during the weekday lunch rushes.
I can't comment on mail order service as I've only used their walkup service at the physical store. Also I wish they were open on the weekends but that is minor gripe. -

I'd give these guys NO stars if the system would allow.
I work with an elite crew of techs for one of those well-known-Silicon Valley-uber-corporations, and one of my cohorts took our VP's laptop in for nothing more than a simple hard drive upgrade since we generally don't do Mac hardware support in house.
MacService gave the laptop back to us with a broken track pad. When it was pointed out to them that the track pad was working just fine before they touched it, they insisted that the logic board needed to be replaced, and of course, want to charge us a pretty penny for the repair. They also said something about broken pins. What broken pins??? Naturally we disputed all this, and despite the fact that their Web site claims "100% customer satisfaction is our goal," they insisted they weren't responsible, and refused to work with us.
Turns out, they aren't even an Apple Authorized Service Provider.
It looks like we're not alone in our experience:

The Apple Store wanted to replace the logic board on my daughter's laptop after a Pepsi Syndrome incident. Turns out that wasn't the problem. Just some water damage to the battery cable and hard drive. MacService swapped out a new hard drive and cable, transferred the data from the old HD at no additional charge, and had it back to us within a day. Nice.
Speaking of nice, the folks on the phone were extremely gracious. And in person they were just as pleasant. These days it's great to see a company that appreciates their customers.
The only downside is they can be a bit pricey, but then again, it's not like I'm letting the goons at Fry's work on my laptop. -
Review from Rishi G.
I always laughed silently at people who spilled a drink on their laptops. Who would be so clumsy, I thought to myself?
After 6 years of using a laptop as my primary computer, I finally obtained my answer - me! I spilled some Pepsi Max over my keyboard one day after not enough sleep. Quick action saved my MacBook Pro from an untimely demise, but unfortunately the left command key's contact got shorted out with the fluid. As any Mac user knows, losing the command key really sucks, since you can't use the keyboard shortcuts anymore.
MyService's website is professional looking, and has a comprehensive price list. Keyboard replacement would be $200 including parts & labor. Well, that sucks - but it's much cheaper than buying a new computer. I dropped my computer off at 10 am, they called me at 2 pm saying that they did a free diagnostic to make sure there were no other damage due to the spill, and replaced the keyboard. I picked it up and it works perfectly.
They were quick, charged a reasonable price (keep in mind the MacBook Pro has a lighted keyboard and replacing it isn't simple), and were communicative. You'll be lucky to find a computer repair shop that fits one of these criteria, let alone all 3.
I highly recommend them for any computer repair needs you have. -

I have used MacService's service once and they have been such a great help. An Apple employee recommended them to me because I needed a new hard drive but didn't want to pay Apple's prices for it (haha). They were very nice and straightforward with the service, I received an educational discount (fabulous!), and by the same time the following day, my laptop was ready to go (local drop-off/pickup).
They may seem to good to be true, but they're not! I have a 5 year old laptop going strong thanks to MacService, and I'll continue to go back to them as long as I own a Mac (for life!)
If you own a Mac and have a problem with it, this is the place to go, hands down. -

MyService AKA MacService
I use MyService for Apple Computer laptop repairs via mail in service.
I call in, they send out a box to send the laptop in for repair.
I send in the laptop for diagnose and repair cost.
They provide the cost. I OK it and fax in a purchase order.
Repaired computer returned with 2-3 days.
MyService offers free diagnosis and repair estimates. -

I took a chance and mailed them my macbook pro to have the screen replaced. I haven't been this impressed with a business in a long time. Very efficient and easy. Communication was wonderful, the turn around time was much quicker than I expected, and the price was very competitive. Don't hesitate to use this company!

Awesome Service, friendly staff - just great people. highly recommend! -

I can't speak for repair services, but I did get my data recovered. My beloved Macbook's hard drive died unexpectedly the day after Christmas without giving me the chance to back up my data. Since a friend could replace the hard drive for me, I needed someone to recover my files. I dropped it off last Thursday and picked it up on Tuesday.
The store itself is pretty small. There is a waiting "lobby" when you walk in, so there is usually nobody upfront at the register. There is a button you can push in order to summon someone out to help you, and a leather couch or wooden stools for you to wait on. My first encounter with the receptionist was okay, she left me feeling kind of nervous because she was almost dissuading me from their data recovery services (she said she didn't know much about it to begin with...so maybe that was why), but because the price was in my range I took a leap. Plus, I know there aren't many places that DON'T charge an arm and a leg for data recovery :(
Overall, I was satisfied... $250 rather than $500+ is well worth it. The only real problem I had with them is that they said they were going to call me to let me know to pick it up, but two days went by from when they finished and I didn't hear a peep. I ended up looking at the website account to find out it was done. They said they got "most" of my data, and from what I can tell that's true (I can't tell what is missing). I kind of wish I knew what was missing though . . . -

STAY AWAY!!!
for your wallet/computer sake!!
Seriously people! My computer crashed and got stuck on a blank screen and the mac service people tried to smuggle me around 200$ FOR A TOTALLY UNNECESSARY HD REPLACEMENT!!
outraged? wait ...there's more!
Plus an extra 250 to recover my data..that would be all really fair...if that was true.
But I went to another place to get a second opinion, for my surprise they advised me to try to restart using the installation cds....
and now

I am so grateful for MyService! My computer crashed a bit ago and I needed to replace the hard drive. My apple extra care plan was still in effect so I went to the Apple store in hopes of having them replace it at a reasonable price. Instead the apple store informed me that I'd simply have to buy another Macbook at the full price. Not excited about this, I looked into other options and someone mentioned MyService. Under the extra care plan they were able to replace my hard drive (and even cleaned off the keyboard to make it look brand new--a nice touch) for free! I am so thankful for this place!

My 17" laptop was dropped by the bellhop at the ski resort we visited last month and completely damaged the top and bottom pan plus the display casing in such a way that it wouldn't shut. I called MacService and have been glad since.
Their customer service is sharp and the person who I worked with on the phone guided me through the best possible fix for the situation and even consulted me in making sure that I resolve the issue with the ski resort positively by providing me with all the expense rates and estimates for the product fix to funnel through them. MacService was prompt and gave me all the information I needed. The computer casing was fixed the best possible way and they even gave me a 10% discount to make the rates most competitive for the ski resort, which afforded the matter in resolution in good faith.
The only glitch was that there was a slight mishap with the shipping and I received a computer that wasn't mine. I called them right away and they fixed the situation immediately. I received my laptop the next day and had a final conversation with their rep that left me satisfied. For that, I still give them kudos.
I definitely recommend them for Mac fixes and will use them as my Mac Hospital from now on. -

Review from Nancy C.
We've all been there, and some more often than others...it's the night before a HUGE term paper or take-home exam is due, and of course, the computer chooses that time to crash. Well, this time, my computer didn't crash; the screen just cracked in such a way that gray vertical lines ran throughout the entire screen. I was able to finish the paper on another computer, but I was just heartbroken that my beloved MacBook suffered such an injury. Like a mother trying to find a suitable MD to help her baby, I checked out various places, including the Apple Store, the Geek Squad, and Dino's in Pasadena. The first one basically told me that it would cost over $1000 to replace the screen since cracked screens aren't covered in the warranty. The second one just laughed at me and told me I was better off buying a brand new computer. Um...thanks? Dino's in Pasadena was more helpful. They said they could replace the screen for around $600, but told me that I should probably think about looking for the screen on e-bay and bringing it in for them to fix for me. They did, however, warn me that there was a possibility that my computer may not survive the repair. Sounded too risky for my liking.
Running out of options, I decided to google my problem and came upon MacService, which is not Apple-certified, but it didn't matter at that point. After I placed my order, an empty box came within two days. Took another two days for my computer to arrive at MacService. When it did, I got an e-mail notification letting me know it was safe in the hands of the experts at MacService. I got an e-mail notification that SAME day that my computer was fixed and on its way back to me. It arrived exactly two days from that day. That's six days from when I sent my computer out to the day it came back to me. Granted, I live in the same state as MacService, so the shipping is a bit faster than if I was living on the other coast. Nevertheless, I think I found my go-to computer should I ever need another computer repair. The prices were cheaper than anything else I have found so far, and I could not believe the fast turn-around.
MacService, you guys are awesome! -

I had a great experience with MacService. My machine hadn't worked right for over a year and I was having a keyboard problem. Apple's solution (for an 18 month old machine): Buy a new one. Instead, I tried Macservice. I picked the free ground shipping option because I wasn't currently using my machine. When they got the machine, they called me, made two suggestions, repaired the machine the same day and mailed it back to me. It works great now. Thanks, MacService!

If you simply ignore their claims of transferring your existing data I'd give them a few extra stars.
If you depend on them to actually restore your system to where it was when you gave it to them - it didn't happen for me. (Yes I have a backup but one of the reasons I picked MacService was so I didn't have to restore 120gb of data.)
They claimed they couldn't open my user account (I gave them the password) so instead of calling or emailing and asking what I'd prefer, they dumped the data into a random account. Now I can't find any of my apps and my data are in inaccessible user accounts.
Feels like a hardware upgrade company with no software QA. -

I would give them more stars if the system allowed it. Fast, reliable, friendly, communication is always above where it needs to be. I work for a school and we have sent in countless systems for broken screens, logic boards, dead CRT's on eMacs, etc... you name it we've probly sent them it, and not one bad experience to date with these guys. If you have had a bad experience, you are one of the very very few rare exceptions and not the norm. I would take my own personally owned systems to them if I needed to.

My apple ibook is old and the screen went blank. It would start up, you could here it ring, but nothing visual on the screen. So I dreaded the Apple store because of the dumb attitude of snobbiness. I tried MacService and was extremely pleased. They sent me the box in one day, I mailed and got it replaced in 4 days. The turnover time was amazing, because logicboards can be tricky they were giving me 1 to 3 weeks on extreme cases. The service was unbelieveable and no pressure. Absolutely do it again.

I had an exceptional experience with My Service when the hard drive failed on my MacBook Pro. I had heard very few good things about any local repair shops, and when I went to the Apple store I was advised to just replace the computer with a new one.
Then I found My Service on Yelp. I was reluctant to mail my computer anywhere for service, and found out they're right around the corner from the office - bonus!
I gave them five stars for the following reasons:
-When I called at 4:15, they told me to come on over, even though they close at 5. Already a big difference from the other place I'd called.
-When I arrived, the intake process took less than 10 minutes and the guy who helped me was really nice and knowledgeable - wish I had gotten his name!
-The diagnosis of my machine was free.
-They told me it would be done by the next day, and it was.
-Finally, it cost exactly what they quoted me.
I had such a great experience that I'm bringing them my sick PC to check out, too! -

San Diego, CA
The repair was because I dropped my laptop in the parking lot. It wasn't in a sleeve or a pouch. Brand new 13" White MacBook unibody. Most of the damage was to the case (and a PCB inside). The Apple store in Mission Valley, San Diego estimated $775 (I was pissed). I found MyService on the web. I called. Stellar service. Very impressed. Everything was as professional as it gets. UPS came to my biz with the shipping box, I inserted my laptop, off it shipped to MyService. MyService troubleshot, called me. I authorized, they repaired, return shipped. Excellent. Primo customer service. The bill at MyService: $395.00. I'm very satisfied. Highly recommend.

This is my first ever review on Yelp and I really hate to start off with a bad review but my experience with MyService really prompted me to post.
I'm sorry but I really wanted to like these guys. They came highly recommended by someone I knew who used their service for upgrading a MacBook hard drive. I looked to them to upgrade my iMac's hard drive. I dropped it off early one morning and they were able to have it to me that same afternoon. It was something I truly appreciated but that's as far as we got with any high marks.
Upon getting home, I checked to see how much space I had in my new hard drive. It showed that of the new 1.5TB space I had in my new HD, almost all of it was already taken up. I called them back to clarify and it turned out that for some reason the cloning process cloned more than one copy of my original 250GB of data from my original hd. Instead of being advised to bring it back I was first advised to purchase an enclosure for my original hard drive and transfer the data myself. I then had to take the initiative to request that I bring it back for them to do the transfer themselves.
I brought the hd back the next day and they then proceed to take days to work on transferring my data. I left the iMac with them for a week as I was out of town. They told me that they found some corrupt files that could not be transferred and were the cause of the cloning which didn't sound right. They then emailed me to let me know it was ready and to have it picked up. They didn't tell me anything about whether or not the transfer was successful, if I was missing data, or anything.
I come home only to find out that of the approximately 245GB of data that was on my original hd, only approximately 60GB was transferred!!!! I had to ask them directly about what happened and they simply told me they could not retrieve all the data. Mind you it wasn't like a few files were missing. It was about 190GB worth of music, pictures, word docs, pdfs, adobe CS files and projects!
I just purchased an enclosure for my original drive to see for myself if there truly is no way for me to retrieve the data myself. If I can't do that I may be stuck possibly looking to a data recovery company to recover my data.
I'm going to work to see how much of my data was backed up from my last TimeMachine back-up.
In any event, this was truly a nightmare!! -

An oasis of caring competence and friendliness in the desert of what passes for our service economy. What a company! Theresa asked good questions and made great suggestions Monday afternoon. Packed up my MacBook and delivered it to the local UPS pickup at 4:30. Calls and emails kept me informed of the progress Tuesday. I was back working with it Wednesday. Local service, if it existed, could not have done the same. And I live in Ohio! And oh, Edward, thanks for the memory upgrade suggestion. It is ever so much faster now. What a company!

These guys were great! I'm a graduate student and I had cracked my screen. I looked around online and I thought that I would have to pay about twice as much as they charged me for the replacement of my screen. I needed a quick repair because I study English literature and I do a lot of writing. I initially had some problems shipping it out (my fault) but they stayed in contact with me via email and phone to make sure I got it there. I did expedited shipping and had my computer back in 2 days after they received it (I think it was gone for a total of 4). My macbook came back with the new screen AND they noticed that this one section of the keyboard was wearing away (I'm not tech-savvy enough to know what it is), but they offered to replace it free of charge (didn't charge for the part, didn't charge for the service either). Definitely use these guys!
