Review from Denise S.
Best Thai food in Hamilton, no contest! I have been coming here regularly with my friends for the past 7 years. I even took my uncle from Manhattan here, and he was quite impressed. There are locations in Dundas and Burlington, but I like the downtown one the best.
The ambiance, like most restaurants in Hamilton, leaves much to be desired. The furniture is more church-basement style than anything. BUT the food more than makes up for it. We don't bother looking at the menu anymore. Our usual dinner is: veggie cold rolls, mango salad, emerald chicken curry, pad thai, and eggplant delight (eggplants stir fried with peppers and tofu). Always fresh and delicious with sizable portions. I branched out recently, ordering delivery, with a glass noddle dish, which was also very good.
Service is generally prompt. They are very accommodating of allergies and big groups. There is an upstairs room that is perfect for groups.
Entrees run $8-12 roughly. There is a great selection of lunch combos, all under $10 and include rice and a spring roll with your dish. -

Extremely generic and mediocre. Green curry lunch special was lacking in flavour, and the spring roll was just plopped in the container on top of the curry, leaving it a soggy mess. My friend's dish was super-greasy, and he left it half-eaten, which is highly unusual for him.
All in all, definitely not worth a second visit. -

Heard a lot about My Thai before trying it, and I'm afraid that it didn't live up to our expectations. I would choose Lemongrass or Pho Dau Bo over this place any day. The restaurant itself was nice enough but nothing fancy, on par with the other places. The food was just a step above mall food court quality.
The Pad Thai was too sweet, and the fried rice had no real flavour to it. The springrolls were OK, but nothing special.
Price wise, given the quality of food, and the low rent neighbourhood, I would say, overpriced.
