  7.5 shoes in the front (all other shoes in the back, and plenty of them), racks labeled with S, M, L, Maternity, Dresses, Evening Gowns etc... I can't think of anything I don't like here!
  
  No musty smell. No "rifling." This is how I was meant to second-hand shop. The racks aren't over stuffed, but there's plenty to peruse. The organization somehow works with the way my brain operates and everything feels clean and almost new like. If I wasn't looking for something specific, I may have just spent a bit longer browsing and trying on pieces.... especially since the prices were so reasonable! I walked away with the perfect hat for $13!
  
  The owner is super friendly and knowledgeable! She even gave me some hints on where around town to look for vintage jewelry.
  
  The low down on how to consign here: It's 60/40 and after the first 4 weeks they reserve the right to mark down the item by 20%. If your piece doesn't sell, you have the option to take it back, or to donate it to Mis'cel'la'ny Finds: http://www.yelp.ca/biz....

  This is a message for the owner, Christine S., in response to her response to my review of her store:
  
  I stand by everything I wrote, especially the bit about no apology being offered.  And I am not going to waste my time responding to your factual inaccuracies and absurd sense of indignation. The purpose of this review was to warn prospective consignors of your unsound business practices and how there is no clause in contract regarding "lost" items and how customers are not informed if anything does go missing. I would have been legally entitled to take you to small claims court instead of writing a fair and accurate review of my experience at your store.  I think the fact that there are now "Going out of Business" signs in your store windows is testament to your lack of professional skill.  There are reasons why some consignment stores in this city do not last.

  Ruby, I am the owner of the store, Christine. I have just now come across your complaint, as you didn't these points to me personally.  To address your point about receiving "only" 40% of the original value of your bag.  I paid you what you would have received had the bag been sold, rather that stolen.  Surely that's fair? And please note: That was 40% as if the bag was sold in the first four weeks we had the bag, not after the possible 20% or 40% discount it may have been subject to had it been sold at the end of the consignment period as agreed.  Second, I had two people on shift at all times in a 1500 sq ft store.  I believe that is adequate staffing.  Even the largest dept stores often don't have that much staff available!  And all stores have problems with shoplifting, whether they have security systems or not.  It is a problem with retail, no matter what type.  People steal - it's a fact of life.  I did apologize to you, profusely as a matter of fact.  What I did not do is give you the full value of a brand new bag.  You may have received different answers from my staff as they searched the store from top to bottom, trying to find your missing articles out of the thousands  in the shop and couldn't give you a definitive answer until we knew for sure the bag was gone. The matter was not brought to my attention until it was confirmed that the bag was, in fact, missing.  We have changed our procedures so that any "name brand" bag is kept in our showcase, rather than put out with the bags of lesser value.  
  
  We did our best to accommodate you and to treat you fairly. At the point that I dealt with you, I do not think anything I could have done or said would have retained you as a consignor or a customer, short of buying you a new bag, which I was not willing to do.  The least you could do was to write a fair review of your experience with our shop.
  
  And BTW, we've never had a consignor named "Ruby".  You also should have had the courage to use your real name.
