Amazing scenery, food, wine, and service! We will be visiting this little winery/bistro whenever we come to Victoria next!

We went here for a Saturday lunch. The day was beautiful and we got a table just next to the vineyards. We had four of the wines for tastings (tastings are $2-3 each for ~2 oz of wine). We then each got a glass of wine we liked. Our server was very knowledgeable about the wines (and also pleasant and helpful in general).

To eat, we had the prawn cocktail for the appetizer. It was good and came with a slightly strong dipping sauce. We then had sandwiches with the Muse salad: The salad was great - fresh greens, sprouts, chickpeas and a great vinaigrette. I had the veggie panini, which was fresh and warm. My fiance had the grilled chicken sandwich - also flavorful; it was on a really good cranberry sourdough bread. For dessert, we shared a berry crumble with vanilla ice cream. The crumble wasn't too sweet and had just the right amount of seasoning/spice in it. The ice cream went really well with it.

The service was pleasant, courteous, and prompt. The ambiance was great too, quiet, scenic, peaceful. There was an eagle whose nest is behind the vineyard so we saw it fly overhead a few times.

This is where to go for an amazing, nice lunch outside of Victoria.

Unbelievably beautiful surroundings, to die for food, and beautiful local wine - this is Muse Winery in the Saanich Peninsula in beautiful British Columbia.

Muse, formerly known as Chalet Estates Winery, is a small award winning winery not far from Victoria, BC.  My guyfriend and I drove out during our do-it-yourself birthday wine tour.  It was our second last stop and perfect timing for a bite to eat.  We were seating on the stone patio amongst grape vines and flowers.  Our server was quick and offered us a bowl of the special soup, a Corn Bisque, as well as a glass of Pinot Gris to compliment.  We took her up on both.  The soup was unbelievable.  It was smooth but rich with hinds of bacon and crunchy sweet corn.  What followed was a tasting plate from heaven featuring three local cheeses, local meets and two jellies with crackers and pita chips.  The local goat cheese and spicy meats were rich and perfect with a cool glass of Pinot.  We tried to savor it but it still disappeared too quickly!  We made our way inside afterwards for a tasting.  5$ will get you 5 generous pours of their local wines.  We stuck with all whites and bought a bottle of the Pinot Gris before we left.  This is a beautiful spot for a bite to eat and some unique wine!  I HIGHLY recommend it if you're in the area.  Total price for food, wine tasting and a bottle of wine: $55.
