Ever wonder why your lady has a monthly "I WANT CHOCOLATE" phase? No it's not because of that! It's because they've been to Muscoreil's! As soon as you walk in the drooling begins. The desserts are beautifully displayed and I guarantee you will have a hard time deciding what you want. Let me help you... look slightly to the left...a little lower... ah there it is - the BEST tiramisu you will ever eat in your life. In fact most of their desserts will have that effect on you. You don't have to wait for the Italian Festival to get your Cannoli's - they have homemade ones here and they are delish! The cakes that I've seen in the display cases look really nice - elegant and modern. The desserts can be a little on the pricey side - but this isn't that Hershey's pie you buy in the freezer section at your local grocery store.

If you want to make an impression at a dinner party and you're in charge of desserts (for those of us who have a bit fat FAIL under the baking section) give Muscoreil's a try. It's worth the trip to the 'burbs.

Note : They are also a bistro - serving breakfast, lunch and dinner - but who can make it past the bakery?????

I STILL get compliments on my wedding cake and I owe it all to Muscoreil's. Absolutely delicious. We settled on 2 flavors- the chocolate with raspberry ganache and raspberry mousse and the white almond with raspberry ganache and raspberry mousse.  It was perfect.

We met with the designer only once and he completely understood our vision. I was in love with a difficult design that I saw on an episode of Cake Boss and thought it was totally out of my price range. But they modified it ever so slightly to make it within our budget. SO grateful for that! The cake was delivered to our venue and it was perfection. I was stunned at how exact it was to my vision.

The bakery also told us that they never freeze their cakes therefore they don't expect us to. On our 1 year anniversary the bakery offers to re-bake the top tier of your cake so you can enjoy the deliciousness in all it's flavorful (FRESH) glory. This is such a nice touch. Who wants to eat year old frozen cake? Yuck.

I do agree with Heather S. below though- they do oversell a bit. We had a 4 tier cake along with a sheet cake (for about 140 guests) and we had the entire sheet cake and our top tier leftover. Not that anyone was sad about eating it for dessert for the rest of the week. ;)

You'll want to make an appointment with them asap for your wedding date. They have limited slots for certain dates so you'll want to lock them down early in your planning process.

Muscoreil's is a super cake bakery ... they have fantastic flavors of cakes, great filling choices and yummy, sugary, sweet and delicious frosting.  I have purchased several birthday cakes, both special ordered and not, and they have always been moist and delicious.  Both my sister and my wedding cakes came from Muscoreil's and they were able to create my perfect, beautiful wedding cake in the exact design that I had in my head.  The wedding cake specialists are uber-talented.  I would definitely, definitely recommend them for your wedding cake - so completely awesome!

Their other desserts are very good too, I always find their italian cookies a bit on the dry side but it seems like that is status quo for some italian cookies, so I just dunk them in my coffee and let it slide.  :)

Their bistro, on the other hand, would only be rated as "fair" in my book.  The service is quite lousy - dinner for 3 took nearly 2 hours tonight and all that we had were salads and sandwiches.  It seems like there is 1 waitress who handles all of the tables and also acts as the hostess.  The food is ok - nothing special and nothing to write home about.

You gotta try the cakes though.... you will not be disappointed.

YUM! I decided to try someplace different for my birthday cake this year and ended up here. Believe me- I wasn't disappointed!

I always heard people talking about this place saying how amazing it was, how delicious the cakes were, but also how pricey they.  I actually thought the cakes were very reasonably priced. It was only $25 for a cake that serves about 8-10 people, and it was fully customizable. I got the raspberry almond cake with pretty pink polka dots all over it. It was so cute! Plus, it tasted amazing. It was almost like eating marzipan with a hint of raspberry-ish flavors in there. I think I'm going to start coming here for birthdays now!

    Yuk!

A short notice invite to a dinner party, a pie being my requested contribution, found me at Muscoreil's. Their new digs at 3960 Niagara Falls Blvd. are a welcome upgrade from the old place. The large lot was semi-full and the counter business steady.

I opted for the only remaining pie in the display case - a great-looking apple caramel concoction. Grabbed a third of a pound of Italian cookies as well, settled the $24.00 tab and on my way I went. My host smiled as I presented the large pie box sporting a gold Muscoreil's label, the smaller cookie box and two chilled bottles of Pinot Grigio.

The Pinot was praised, the cookies elicited "yum yums", the pie drew silence. A tasteless,  gloppy ending to an otherwise plesant meal. I remembered the cashier commenting to me - "Try this pie warmed, it's wonderful". I suppose she knew more than she told me.
Next visit I will suggest she warm it for me - between her knees.

My first experience with Muscoreil's was for my wedding cake.  We had a great meeting where we got suggestions & awesome samples.  We went with a 5 tier cake, half with marble cake , a chocolate ganache & chocolate chip mousse filling.  The other half was a white cake with a raspberry ganache & a raspberry mousse filling.  The cake tasted amazing!  Everyone "oohed" & "ahhed".  I only had two complaints- the design was slightly off & they over-sell on the cake.  They tried to put that on the venue but honestly, they cut generous portions & we were left with 3 out of 5 huge layers left in my freezer.

My sister decided to get her wedding cake there as well.  Now, she is extremely particular but she was right about the fact that her cake didn't have the exact details she asked for even though she met with the baker two times & phoned to make sure everything would be "just so".  Even so her cake was beautiful & amazingly delicious as well.

We had dinner there once.  It was good but unmemorable.  We've also been back to enjoy some of their desserts numerous times.  Of course they're a bit pricey (but much lower in price than a close-by competitor) but well worth it.  I highly recommend the italian fig cookies & the sesame cookies.  The bear claw is big enough for two as are the cinnamon rolls.  If you're a big fan of pecans, don't miss the pecan cinnamon rolls.  They're big enough to share & mounded with pecans.
