Review from John M.
OMG... the apricot almond scone, when toasted with a smidge of butter was THE BEST breakfast bread Ive had in years!!! Im not kidding, it was that good. I grabbed a cup of coffee and took a seat on the upper deck of the food court and just watched the world pass by. Ill be back as soon as I can for a return visit!!!
BTW, the crepes look awesome as well... great to watch as well. -

Meh. It's alright. I think I am spoiled from my crepe in Breck. We got the ham, cheese, egg and mushroom crepe as well as the Nutella and banana crepe. The ham and cheese crepe was nothing special. Aside from having enough mushrooms to fill a forest, the crepe lacked a ton of seasoning and was super bland. This could be my American taste buds talking, but I was underwhelmed. Now, the banana and Nutella crepe... that was something else entirely! It was wonderful! But how can you go wrong with banana and Nutella? Now the question is; did Muffin Granny do something special to make the banana/Nutella combo even better? Or is this just good on it's own? The answer is: this combo is delicious on anything - lefse, chapati - it's probably good on spinach. So Muffin Granny did not take my breath away with some amazing new take on this classic. All in all, it was an okay experience. If you find yourself on Granville Island, do yourself a favor and check out one of the many other food stalls that perhaps offer up something more inventive.

This humble food stand in the Granville Island Public Market makes some pretty good crepes. You can have them in both sweet and savoury varieties, watch them being made on the hot disks behind the counter, and they're cheaper than Cafe Crepe, too.
The stand is down near the end of the food fair hall, near the big atrium with the two levels of seating. It is also near the big "back porch" of the market, where you can eat al fresco, but mind the seagulls. They're ruthless!
For about $6 we got a sweet crepe stuffed with strawberries and topped with loads of whipped creme. The presentation is simple, but when I'm that hungry, I don't care. However, I do get all eco-guilty about the styrofoam plates and plastic forks, but that's take-out for you. It was a delicious crepe, light and filling, the perfect afternoon snack. -

Had an emmental, spinach and ham crêpe. The ham was forgotten the first time and I had to get them to remake it but when it was all sorted out I had a pleasant experience. My only real complaint is also kind of a compliment: The actual crêpe is so tasty itself that I wanted to be able to enjoy it more without being overpowered by the toppings - especially the spinach which I suspect is the frozen kind, some fresh stuff would have been much appreciated. However, I'd probably consider returning but just asking for "easy" on the toppings.

My numerous trips to Vancouver, this is the place I make sure to visit every single time. You get to pick what ingedients you want in your crepe to make it savory or sweet. Just watch the magic happens in front of you as the batter is dripped on the hot disk and slowly pushed into shape and heats up as the ingredients you picked get added to it until it is finally folded and sizzling on the plate for you. It just doesn't get much better than seeing the crepe being made in front of you and walking out to the open dock area to enjoy a nice afternoon (or morning).

This unsuspecting pastry vendor at the Granville market was a great surprise. We were looking for some breakfast and stumbled upon this place. I ordered a blueberry muffin and my boyfriend ordered a different type of bluberry pastry. Scone maybe? He had his toasted with butter. With our JJ Bean in hand,we ate our pastries outside. The muffin was so soft and chock full of blueberries. Maybe even more than the bread itself! The scone was also delicious and makes you wanting more! Two thumbs up!

Had great crepes on our trip to Vancouver. They are not inexpensive but are very tasty. The daily special was apple and cinnamon and the crepe batter itself is excellent. I had a spinach, feta and egg crepe - very good! An enjoyable breakfast sitting in the sun in the dining area of the food court with organic coffee from another vendor nearby!
