After experiencing some fairly decent veggie burritos here over the last few months, I finally decided to try their meat. The barbacoa called my name, and boy oh boy, I'm glad it did.
A generous portion of tender, juicy and perfectly-seasoned beef with beans, peppers, onions, tomatillo salsa, corn, cilantro and burrito sauce.
My veggie burritos had been OK here, but now I realize how much I was missing out by denying myself that sweet, sweet cow flesh.
Super filling, super beefy, super yummy. I'm a fan.Listed in: Davie Street - the best (and…, Mexican, Mexi-Cali, Tex-Mex,…

The salad bowl was decent/good, but the extras kind of sucked. Don't get the combo, and that was the worst cookie I've ever had...
The chicken was nothing special, but the guacamole and chipotle dressing were both pretty good. -

This is as good as it gets for your standard North-of-the-borderS Mexican fast food.
See, we have a few different types of Mexican food. We have authentic. You know, the stuff you get IN Mexico. It runs the gamut, but you won't find anything that compares to Mexican food outside of Mexico because we have health codes here. There is an expectation of cleanliness that is not necessary in Mexico, and sorry, but the cleanliness does something to the taste and experience. It's relative, so you have to expect what is available or you will be disappointed.
Then you have your blablaberto's 24 hr drive-up/walk-up that you frequent after a night of heavy drinking in the border states. You just point at the picture and nothing costs over $5. Never saw anything like that in Vancouver while I was there.
Among other Mexican fare, like bona fide restaurants, there is the Mucho Burrito as a faster food option. I'm guessing this chain is loosely based on the Chipotle or Baja Fresh brands. All three have their pros and cons.
Mucho Burrito IS GOOD! I couldn't believe the complaining I've seen going on here. I don't know about you, but when I'm in Canada, and I see well-lit, professional signage and a menu written in English with correct spelling, mind you, and not painted or drawn on a painted piece of drywall, I don't expect an authentic Mexican meal.
And I lived in AZ for years. I know all about Mexican food. You want authentic Mexican food in Vancouver, BC? Get on the phone and ask whomever answers in Spanish, if they have lard in their beans. You want lard in your beans? I don't. Only when I'm in Mexico and they don't have anything else.
They had Corona with lime, and the best, yummiest soup concoction I have had in a long time. Not Mexican. Tasty and creative, though. It was pretty cheap too. It was right by my hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. Hockey on the big screens! Yay!
They could have done a couple things better. I didn't see a salsa bar, which is a deal breaker if they want to compete with Chipotle, Baja Fresh or Rubio's. But it was good, healthy, fast, and relatively cheap.
P.S. I'm a solid Taco Time fan here in Utah, but don't bother with them in Canada. Bleh. -

Why is it a struggle to find a decent burrito in Vancouver?? Had high hopes for this place and was duly disappointed. The tortilla was very ordinary and so was the beef. Also order a tostada salad, and was it shabby.
It's about time we get a Chipotle here! -

The 2 of us had 2 XL burritos for $11 each. The chicken was pretty average but the pork was significantly better.
Other than that, the service is pretty shocking. Half way through making our burrito, our server yelled "What do you want?" to a guy came up to ask for napkins. After going back to making our burritos he then decides to fry up more vegetables and proceeds to look for a frying pan, then heats the oil up and starts frying vegetables (which we didn't order). By the end, he was so rough with the burritos that he had punctured the burrito till the fillings were popping out. He simply ignored it and wrapped it all up. We sat down quietly in a corner looking forward to dinner as we were very hungry, only we had another server who was busy cleaning the floors, sweeping under our legs and the atmosphere was filled with only screeching noises while he dragged every single chair out and in.
The floors might have been swept but we're definitely not coming back. -

Change the name from Mucho Burrito to Mucho RIPOFF Burrito. This place and the manager is a joke. For starters don't expect your Groupon certificates to be honoured but this was only part of the bullshit they pulled.
I should have walked out and given my certificate to a homeless person but its not like they would have gotten much to eat out of it anyway.
At first glance I seen dried out unappetizing meat selections and bare minimum rice and beans. At the prices they charge, close to ten dollars for a burrito you would think they might have had the containers at least half full at 6 pm, or what we like to call here in Canada, suppertime. I asked the counterperson if I could see the steak which was kept in a closed container and it looked a little more palatable. She put the burrito together and asked me if I was interested in addition, chips and guacamole or salsa to make it a combo. The groupon was for $10 worth of food for 50% or $5. Being rather simple math, I had no idea this would turn into the fiasco it did. The putz at the cash and I say that for a reason rang up my purchase and I proceeded to give him my groupon. After inspecting it like it was funny money or something he said the best I can do with this is $5. I immediately wanted to say are you f**ken kidding me but instead said, what's the problem. He said the coupon expired. I then pointed at the "extended date" to him. Working hard for his $8 an hour he said to me there is nothing I can do about this. I then told him not to waste my time and to get the manager. He immediately proceeded to grab the tray and hold onto it for dear life like I might lunge over the counter for it. I really wasn't that hungry or hard up.
While waiting for the manager to take his leisurely time, two rather drunk guys walked in and proceeded to go to the over-exuberant cashier and managed to blurt out...."I know this is an unusual request but could we buy two limes from you?" Tripping over himself putz grabbed two whole limes and put both of them in their hands and said, no charge." After I picked my jaw up off the floor I looked at him and said you have a lot of nerve giving away goods in front of me yet you are giving me a hard time for a Groupon I paid for in good faith. I then said, last time ever and can't wait to get home and write a review on Yelp. No reaction.
The manager finally strolled over like he was on Mexican time and looked at the coupon and said the best I can do is $5 plus I will have to charge you 99 cents for the guacamole. I looked at him in disbelief and said what guacamole?????
I pointed out to him the Groupon was good for $10 worth of food and I had only ordered a shriveled up burrito for 6.99$. He then point blank said ok, $5 off and you owe me 2.99 plus tax, around $3.20. Infuriated by this point with how much time I had wasted, which was probably worth double the coupon I said to him LAST TIME EVER and look out for the review I am going to write about this place. As a last ditch effort he then haphazardly said, here just take it I won't charge you (like I was some kind of a beggar or something) I don't want you to write a review about me. It was a little too late for that. I looked at him dead in the eye and said, just charge me the balance so I can get the hell out of here.
What a poor taste in my mouth and I'm not talking about the shriveled up burrito. LIke I said NEVER AGAIN. -

i actually like this place even though i avoided it for quite a while despite living very close .... el taco usually satisfies my mexican food cravings ... but the other day i was in the mood for some nachos and for only 6 dollars i had great vegetarian nachos ... tasty chips, yummy cheese sauce, fresh salsa, fresh guac, sour cream, fresh cilantro, it was very fresh and very delicious ... person who served me was pleasant and helpful ... i will definitely go back and try a burrito next time ... but for six dollars, those nachos were super delicious ...

The 3 tacos mixed in 3 kinds for $10 is my fav. burritios are good to but not as good as the tacos.

This place is legit.
I was a bit skeptical because for a Mexican restaurant, there are no Mexicans to be seen anywhere. But the people cooking there know what they're doing. It's basically like a 'subway' You just line up and pick what you want in the Burrito/Quasadilla or whatever.
Everything tastes pretty much the same, but it's damn good. -

I live just around the corner so I'm there every now and then. The guys behind the counter are usually really nice. The burritos are pretty good - nothing to write home about. Standard mexican fast food. No complaints other than it's a bit pricey but hey...

* Assembly line fast food "Mexican" *
Oy......I'm not even sure why I bothered trying this place. I could tell from the outside it wasn't going to be satisfying. But I'm a sucker for trying new spots.
I ordered the barbacoa burrito and wandered through the burrito assembly line. The tortilla was pre-made and then they went through the motions of steaming it, but only for about 1 second so it didn't do much and the edges were crumbly and hard. Meh. The rice was mushy, the black beans overly salty, the spicy salsa was bland, and the barbacoa was not flavourful at all. Meh.
Oh, and overpriced - over $10 for a low quality burrito?!?!?! Hello?!?!?! Ugh.

Not a lot of lunch options in the immediate few blocks, so it's not bad, esp if you need food that's fast but not fast food.
Agree with Marc P., the food was just ok, and IMO mostly b/c the meat (carne asada) was oddly spongy. And it's true, they do nickel & dime you for everything "extra" like extra salsa or guac, which is totally annoying. Just charge more and have it be included.
If you're in the mood for some Mexican, this place will do. The hot salsa is made with habanero, so it's wildly hot and really tasty. What girl doesn't want that every once in a while, right? -

Yes yes yes!
Coming from California, I find I am always on the prowl for what I like to call "California Mexican Food." It is really hard to find in this city, as most of the burrito places are... not great.
To be clear, mexican food are the small tacos you get at La Taqueria on Hastings. California mexican food are giant burritos with options for meat like carnitas.
This restaurant is very similar to Chipotle. It's got the assembly line style of burrito making, but has ingredients that make a Californian proud (Carnitas, barbarcoa, pico de gallo to spicy green salsa, tons of cilantro in everything). Also, you get a huge burrito for a reasonable price.
This place definitely deserves a way higher rating, not only because it's an awesome burrito place, but also because it's one of the best food places in the neighborhood. -
Review from Nick C.
Pretty much like a Chipolte or Qdoba in just about every way. The order probably goes Chipolte, then Qdoba, and followed by Mucho Burrito, but the differences are so slight that list could vary by any given experience. Six in one and half a dozen in the other. 3.5 stars is spot on here.

My sister and I had supper at Mucho Burrito this evening.
The fella making our burritos was great. He was very helpful and friendly.
I got a pork burrito with rice, beans, pork, cheese, medium salsa, green pepper and burrito sauce.
I love burritos and am particular about them. This was delicious! My sister enjoyed her burrito too.
Part of my combo was dessert. I chose cinnamon roll. It was made in-house and was okay.
Sister Sarah got cookies for her dessert and said they were good.
I looked online and see there are locations in downtown Toronto ... yay! -

This place deserves a better rating! I am a sucker for any place that serves burritos so I had to try this one out as it's so close to where I work.
Upon arrival I was greeted by several friendly staff, which caught me a little off-guard, but was pleasant. The menu was pretty easy to understand and the assembly-line system of getting your order made worked well. I ordered the 12" chicken burrito. The chicken was quite flavourful. I also got the hot salsa, which was, to my pleasure, very spicy. The person making my burrito made me try it on a tortilla chip beforehand in case it was too hot for me. It probably would be for people looking for a more medium-hot flavour.
I didn't find the extra costs for cheese or guac (which I never get anyway) to be annoying or uncalled-for. The burrito itself is fairly priced, on par with other local burrito places. There is actually a larger size, up from 12" that is a little more.
All in all, this place is decent. Lots of seating and large windows. The one negative I really could have done without was the loud mariachi style music. -

I'm from Kansas City and we got some nice greasy burrito joints there. This place is a bit nicer, but not greasy enough in my opinion. Yet, everything else is phenomenal. I have to sit with my top button undone after eating a smothered burrito. The shredded beef or pork is awesomeness. Haven't done much else, honestly.
if one were looking to put on a few pounds, this is the place. Unfortunately, a lil expensive for my KCMO taste, but heck.. this is vancouver. Not the cheapest place on earth. -

The food was okay ... As far as fast food American-Mexican goes. Servings are adequate, and the prices seem reasonable until the bill comes and you get nickel-and-dimed for every extra. Definitely not a traditional Mexican experience!

First I have to Say how Clean this Restaurant was... Everything was sparkling and bathrooms well kept. The staff was super friendly and even came and cleared my plate away and asked how everything was. I would come back to this place if they weren't so stingy in the ingredients... I ordered the chicken Quesdilla and Im pretty sure the guy counted the pieces of meat he put in it and I barley got a sprinkle of cheese... Arent Quesdilla suppose to be gooey with a cheese centre? I mean if they are going to charge those prices ($10.49) for just a Quesdilla they should fill it up... With HST these days there are definitly other options to get your bang for your buck!!!
