We came here for the Canadian Tire Nascar race over the Canada Day long weekend.

We weren't sure what to expect since this was our first Nascar type event ever, but considering it's a great racing series and all the way out in this small town of Vernon, we had to check it out.  Besides, my boss got us these awesome VIP tickets.

If you come here to watch the races you need to bring a few things.  Good camera, some money for souvenier stands and food stands, flashlight to get you back to your car at the end of the event and most importantly, earplugs.  You need to have earplugs!

Ok, for us up in the VIP room, they had food at the end of the room.  The food I have to admit was very very tasty.  Although I couldn't figure out if my salmon was salmon or chicken.  (it was kinda dark).  I thought, wow!  this is amazing salmon! LOL. No stupid, it's chicken.  Doh!  I guess all that noise from the crazy Nascar dulled my senses a bit.  But really the food was good, if you are up in the VIP room.  Outside, downstairs, there was a burger concesion which I did try out a burger and bottle of water. You don't get much. Two warm hamburger buns and a meat patty inbetween.  I had to make it tasty with the mustard, piled with sauerkraut and banana peppers.  Now it's yummy.

The race was spectacular and it came complete with the typical Nascar crashes.  I was hoping for a bit more, but it was still great.  We also got to go down to pit lane and see the cars, get to meet the drivers and it got me wondering.  Hmmmmmm I wonder what it would be like to race in this series. Nah,,,, I have more fun doing what I do as it is.

Thanks to our good friend GC for spotting us the ticks  It was a great weekend for all of us.

**BTW there are other venues here besides car racing.  Music concerts are quite popular here it seems.
