Ahh first car shopping. I live very close to the Northshore Automall and it only made perfect sense that I would come to this oasis of automobiles to purchase my first brand new car!
I was looking at several dealerships - Toyota, Honda, VW, and Mazda.
Let me preface this review by saying the Northshore Automall is great, everything in one spot, tucked away by the water. It is pretty much always deserted so its nice for a claustrophobic shopper such as myself. Only gripe with this Automall is that there is no Kia or Mitsubishi which I would have liked to consider also.
I was mostly interested in Honda, however, every time I went there, the sales staff did not seem knowledgable and weren't really interested in getting into the nitty gritty negotiation which I was looking forward to.
I am an avid consumer review reader and I felt like I knew more about their vehicles than they did - not good. Despite the fact that I was really keen on that shiny new 2010 Honda Fit, the lack of knowledge at Honda (as well as the astronomical 5.9% finance rate) pushed me elsewhere.
I then went to Toyota where I was greeted by a friendly enough sales memeber but couldn't shake the feeling that he was just trying to push a quick sale without giving me any detail. I sat inside a Yaris and instantly knew that was not the car for me. Next.
Mazda was really not something I was considering. No sub-compact hatchback in their line-up, but a rather snazzy looking re-design of the Mazda 3 in that amazing celestial blue colour had me curious. Out in the lot I was greeted by a very friendly salesman who asked me my name right off the bat (his name was Jamie). Jamie right away showed me everything about the car that had caught my eye, sat me down, went over pricing, and began to learn what my financial situation was at the time. All the employees at Mazda seemed to be very friendly with each other, a nice family atmosphere. Jamie introduced me to his manager aswell and had such a great way about him that I knew I wanted to buy my car here. Mazda definitely had the best deal going at the time (0% finance, no pay for 90 days) and after test driving, I didn't even want to go to VW because I had found my car and dealership.
All throughout the purchasing process, Jamie and the staff at Morrey Mazda treated me so well and were very helpful. The negotiation on price was not a battle, but a mature and well constructed business practice. I didn't leave feel cheated, or like I got swindled. After the sale I felt like the transaction could not have gone smoother and I am very happy to bring my car there for servicing in the future (which reminds me...)
I highly reccommend Morrey Mazda on the Northshore if you are looking to work with a great sales team in a positive environment. A+! -

Horrible experience. I bought my car at the Hastings location but since they moved I have had to go to the NorthShore. This place is such a rip off. Every time I would go in for a oil change they would try to charge be for other things. This place is not honest and is a waste of time. I do not recommend it.
