Review from Karen M.
This casual upscale restaurant is located on the Morgan Creek Golf Course and is a short 15min drive from White Rock. The whole family went here last night for a "nicer" dinner and all enjoyed their meals with gusto. Service is unfailingly polite and pleasant and the whole restaurant boasts calming wood tones and large windows overlooking the natural beauty of the area.
We started with a couple of appetizers and a soup: the Morgan Creek roll (crab, avocado, and cucumber with wasabi, soy, and pickled ginger - $10), the fried calamari with acidulated onions and a crème fraîche tzatziki ($12), and the soup du jour (roasted butternut squash, $7). Portions were large and everything was fresh and well-balanced.
Our mains: seared rare ahi tuna/panko crusted tempura roll/lobster spring roll ($18), chili chicken ($19), pasta bolognese ($15), tagliatelle with pan seared scallops ($22), pan seared wild salmon ($25), and fish and chips (halibut: 1 piece $14.50, 2 pieces $19.50). Everything was very tasty and portions were generous without being ridiculously gargantuan. Seafood was not overcooked and pasta was housemade and perfect. Presentation focused on the bright colours of the different elements of each dish; sadly, the dim lighting resulted in awful photos, so no pics for this review! -

Went for lunch 10 of us.. I ordered seafood salad, main entree $18.00. Consisted of one small handful of mixed greens, I large prawn 1 large scallop, tiny piece of salmon just slightly bigger than a loonie, crab cake the size of a loony.that is it, not a tomato, avocado anything else.
WOW, need to check out salad mains at say cactus club, absolutely much more interesting than this. And gee, I was wondering why the place was so empty........
