* Turkish cafe *
This little cafe was a welcome surprise. They offer a small selection of freshly baked Turkish items such as baklava, and böreks.
I had the beef börek for lunch, which was served with a side of a nice thick Turkish yogurt. The pastry itself was nice and flaky, and the beef filling was well seasoned. Pairing the yogurt with the flaky pastry and beef made for a nice combination. My only "beef" with the börek was that they reheated it in a way that made parts of it slightly soggy (I'm guessing microwave?). That was a shame, as it was a nice one which got just a little rubbery in parts because of the reheating process. I wish they would reheat in an oven and take a little longer (it would be worth the wait). So a minus 1 on what would have been a 4 star lunch otherwise. Priced fairly at $7 (tax inclusive). Service was extremely friendly, although with almost zero English skills.
I think I prefer the burek at Bernie's Balkan Kitchen not too far away where it maintains its crispness: http://www.yelp.ca/biz...
P.S. Free wifi for you, if that matters.....
