I was visiting Ottawa and a coworker recommended this place. I'd never been to a "hot pot" style place before and now I am a fan.
You are seated at a table with kid-safe stove top/burners on it. The waiter brings you a bowl of broth, filled with lots of spices and vegetables. Think pho, but with much more stuff in it. I got the spicy bowl. You take a plate to go get ingredients buffet style. They have thin strips of pork, lam, beef, etc. There is a good assortment of Asian style vegetables also.
You boil them in the pot, mostly one by one, for the allotted time, which is usually pretty short, like 30 seconds. There is a guide on how long to cook each item.
Over time, the broth reduces and the pot gets refilled with broth. So, it becomes dense with the original seasonings, plus the bits of stuff you have been cooking in it. So, the food gets better over time.
Good stuff!
The only bad thing I can say is that the deserts on the buffet sucked. But, honestly, you should be busy stuffing yourself with the hot pot food anyway. The deserts are irrelevant. -

Sigh, this place could have had so much potential. From thier food handling to the upkeep, the place lacks the added care.
Soup base was good and mongolie spices were clearly tasted. Warning, the spicy base is layered in dried chillis and watch out for the bok choi (not cleaned well).
Food selection at the buffet and sauce station seemed a mess. Sharp contrast to other places where they regularily have staff dedicated to cleaning the drips and spills between the buffet dishes during dinner service.
Not recommended. So very not worth the money. -

After a long, hard day of ziplining in La Fleche, this was the best reward a girl could ask for! Fresh, healthy, full of nutrition and I get to play with my food (yippee!)
Its amazing to find how the broth changes the taste and texture of so many different veggies I thought I would never try. All in all, a great bang for your buck, esp if you are into healthy food choices. -

This is a really great restaurant that offers a very different dining experience. If you want to eat some really good food that's healthy and fun to prepare then you'll have a great time here! Especially if you can get a group together. If you don't want to cook your own food or are in a hurry then hot pot probably isn't the best choice. We went on a Wednesday night and got the $17.99 all you can eat deal which includes drinks (soda, water, and juice) and deserts. We all left full, relaxed, and happy. Try new things or stay with the ingredients you know, but however you do it you'll have some good eats!
PS. the spicy broth is VERY SPICY. The non-spicy one is very flavourful and what I recommend. You can also get half and half, which is a bowl that is split down the middle and includes both types. -

Everything was mostly fresh and fairly clean. Food was just OK. I went on a Friday and it was buffet night. I'm not a fan of buffet style, especially when I have to pay $20 for it THEN COOK IT MYSELF. I found the atmosphere stressful and they couldn't grasp the fact that I wanted to drink water and not juice.
