I used to go to Menchie's all the time for my froyo but I decided to broaden my horizon one day and headed into this spacious cafe with mr. boyfriend. Boy, I was not disappointed- it is a lot cheaper??!!? and you pay for a small, medium or large froyo (fixed price) and you get unlimited toppings! Mind you, they don't have the gazillion toppings as they do at Menchie's, but I still felt overwhelmed with the selection.

What is a huge plus with this froyo joint is that they have a huge patio outlooking Bloor W, great for a cool evening and for people-watching. I'd go here to avoid the crowd and enjoy some reasonably priced froyo in a spacious setting.

I haven't been here in a while but my first trip was very memorable. It was a sunny Saturday afternoon and I had made the purposeful trip here to try this new froyo place. It wasn't long after they had first opened. I came early in the day about a half hour after they unlocked the doors. There were a couple people that were enjoying their orders at one of the tables. I could hear someone rummaging around in the back, most likely finishing up the morning routine. I looked at my watch, scoped out the menu to figure out what I wanted, and waited for a staff member to come out of the back.

    I waited...

    And waited...

    And waited...

    Then waited some more.

At the 5 minute mark I wondered if I should pop my head into the back but thought, nah they'll be out in a second. When 10 minutes had gone by I wondered what would happen if I were just to go behind the counter and make my own order. But at that moment a guy came out of the back to take my order.

The froyo was fine. Nothing better or worse than any other place really. The decor of the shop sticks with every other frozen yogurt server with shiny surfaces and modern looking walls and furniture.

I'll probably come back here sometime but I'm not making any special trips like I did for the first one.

I just finished my very first Monberri froyo and boy was that a satisfying experience! After my gigantic-sized medium Peach Froyo with Mochi and Lychee, I'm still feeling pretty guilt-free! It was such a clean but satisfying snack, om nom nom nom nom!  My mochi didn't taste hard, it was chewy, the way it should be, and I wanted to try the taro but they didn't have it today. The froyo definitely wasn't as thick and creamy as Menchies further down the street but it was still good in its own clean/light/refreshing way.  The only downside? It's not self-serve, and there aren't as many toppings and froyo flavors to chose from as Menchies but they have flavors and toppings that Menchies doesn't carry, like taro and Lychee, anddd they have bubble tea, that's enough to make me want to come back.

Located right next to The Bata Shoe Museum, it's just a few steps away from Robarts Library and St. George Station, a very convenient place for students to hang out or get their snack on (which probably explains why it's empty today... ).  They even serve: Cupcakes, Crepes, Waffles, Coffee, Hot Chocolate, Cafe Lattes, Cappuccino,  Espresso, Americano, and etc... so there's plenty of other choices if Froyo is not your thing

The décor is very clean and modern, I really like the colorful light display, it gives the place a cool vibe and makes it look more lively. The music is great, none of that overplayed radio junk and it's not too loud, which I very much appreciate because I'm supposed to be "studying" right now and I'm the only person in here... The service was really great/friendly!! The dude even wrote down their WiFi password for me when I pulled out my laptop. Oh and their random deals of the day are pretty awesome too. I got a discount just for wearing jeans today, me likes!!  My total came up to $5.50 for a medium with three toppings (I got 2 lychee toppings), which admittedly is a bit pricey but pretty standard if you've been to any other ice cream or Froyo place in the area.

Considerably larger space than Greg's a few doors down, so as we saw a few young one's gather next to one another enjoying their Froyo and looking up on a Laptop in this Chic Futuristic/Cute environment.

I can't imagine Children coming here over Greg's but it's more for the established University students on a low budget needing a different space to gather and discuss their next assignment.  Typical Froyo counter setup manned by 1 person seems like deja-vu to me.

Yam Froyo w/Toppings(Mochi, Strawberry, Corn Pop)($4.50/small) was more of a Soft-Serve than Frozen Yogurt.  It has more CREAMINESS than freshness in comparison, so if it wasn't stated as Frozen Yogurt I would of thought it as a Soft-Serve from the Ice Cream Truck.

The Yam flavour wasn't as distinct for my preference while I've had better but that was an Ice Cream rather than Froyo.  I'm not a local in the area so in terms of flavour, it won't bring me back however I am happy to consume such a HEALTHY treat.

Mon Berri is very decent. It's too bad this place is badly located, if it were in a busier area I reckon it would have a lot more customers. It's big inside and also has a huge patio out front.

You take your pick of 4 different soft serve ice cream flavours (vanilla, strawberry, chocolate or cookies n' cream) and they have about 30 different toppings you can add on top. Toppings range from fresh fruits (blackberries, blueberries, kiwi slices) to crushed cookies (oreos, pirate cookies, graham crackers). A small one with 3 toppings sets you back $4.50, which seems reasonable.

They also did a few dessert crepe options, but otherwise there is not much else on the menu.

This place looks like the business lovechild of Luke Skywalker and Hello Kitty - decidedly futuristic overall; accented with bright red and pastel highlights. Without the tried-and-true tradition of Italian gelato charm or French patisserie panache, frozen yogurt is fairly open to interpretation and reinvention, which Mon Berri takes full advantage of. It's definitely a conversation starter.

The menu here seems to offer a variety of tempting options, and the toppings available for your froyo experience are diverse. I think the "healthy" tag attached to the general menu is a bit misleading albeit somewhat amusing. I am not really thinking "healthy" when I'm on a mission for dessert.  Still, you could do worse if you set out to sugarbomb your way into a carb coma.  I only had a small frozen yogurt with fruit toppings, but I'm ready to come back for more. The yogurt is sweet but tart, and the toppings were fresh (some unique choices here too, (like mochi), if you're used to the usual at Yogen Fruz).

    Worth another trip!

Great customer service! I'd come back here just to talk to the guy. What a sweetheart, giving me samples and talking to me like we're old buds.

I  wanted mango but unfortunately they were out (popularity or seasonal, forgot to ask). I had the cookies and cream flavour and I tried the peach too.

The guy behind the counter was nice enough to let me taste the mochi. It was like having a cold hot chocolate with marshmallows, but slightly different. Great light chocolatey flavour and texture, although the texture was more soft serve than froyo. Get it with the corn puffs or oreos if you like it really sweet. Definitely try it with the mochi.

Update: Corn syrup is listed in the ingredients on their website, don't think I'll make this place a frequent stop. But it's still delicious :(

Loved the frozen yogurt here, had a small with three toppings. I had absolutely no issues with the taste of the product. The interior of Mon Berri was also pretty fantastic. Cute and minimalist, with free wi-fi and plenty of space.

This place is, however, a little pricy for what you get. Serving sizes are pretty small, and I would have liked more in the realm of toppings. Regardless of this, I'll definitely be going back in the future.

Finally, soft serve frozen yogurt the way it's supposed to taste. I'm tired of eating crappy frozen yogurt that's been mixed with water or other additives. As the owner proudly informed me, he only uses a REAL yogurt mixture with live active cultures, thus making it a probiotic product. Otherwise I guess you're just eating frozen powdered milk.

Plenty of standard toppings plus some unusual but delicious ones. Their chocolate frozen yogurt is the best I've had in Toronto by far, although Original is still my all time favorite. They also had smoothies but I didn't have a chance to try one, perhaps next time.

Their patio was perfect on a sunny day, they also had free Wi-Fi, thought that was a nice touch. They should really open up more locations this place has so much potential. Best replacement for our lack of Red Mangos and Yogurtlands in Canada.

Mon Berri Frozen Yogurt really taste more like soft serve ice cream than Frozen Yogurt.

The Taro flavour is not too strong.. I feel it a little sweeter and a lot creamier than other Froyo I have before. Question how much calories does one servings has?  Also the taste is a little artificial. The toppings selections are really different corn puffs? mochi??!! yes I love mochi!

I don't really like the interior. Too white...everything is white with these colouring changing light panel on the side walls. The little hearts... I feel like this place belongs to Cali teenagers hanging place.

Such a fabulous little place...if only I were a student again, would've been such a fun place to go to after a brutally long week of school...then again, even now with a career job, this place is still a great place to go to after a brutally long week of work!

Found this place through a Groupon site (in fact, I think it may have been Groupon, but don't quote me on it!). My sister, mom and fiance and I ran in right before closing and the owner was still super happy and enthusiastic about serving us.

They had soft serve and of course, the low-fat no-sugar added variety caught my eye. I got fresh berries and mochi! You must try the mochi, it's delicious and different.

Plenty of other toppings to choose from, free wifi, great clean space....i will definitely be back. And come on! As a calorie counter (when I have to be), this place will always be a favorite of mine!

Time for an update on both the froyo and bubble tea fronts.

I can honestly say this is now my favourite between Mon Berri, Menchies and YoYos. Unlike the other two, it's not self serve, but they do have a **NEW** menu option called 'unlimited toppings.' You basically pay extra for your small/medium/large and are then granted permission to stand there and say, "More. No, more. More. Just load it on. More. Keep going," until you're happy with how much of each topping is on there. I thought it was a neat attempt at taking on menchies and yoyo's. I'm not quite sure on the pricing, but I'm fairly sure you pay about a dollar extra on top of the current base price (small/medium/large) and then 89c per topping. Flavourswise, they're still doing four flavours each day. The last two times I've been in (inside the last two weeks), it's been mango, original, strawberry and chocolate. All but the chocolate are fabulous. Chocolate froyo is never good in my opinion.

As for the bubble tea, I have since figured out that whether or not the bubble tea is good ENTIRELY depends on who's working/making it. Every time I've gone the (half)guy pictured here: http://www.yelp.ca/biz... has made my bubble tea and it's been great. Unfortunately, the last time I visited, another skinnier guy was working there (along with a new girl) and what I got from him was awful. Truly, truly terrible. It was disgustingly sweet. It tasted like cold milk tea with half a bottle of squeez-y honey in it. It was foul enough that even after I added milk to take away some of the sweetness, I didn't feel comfortable drinking it because I knew how much sugar was in it. The worst part is that as I was leaving he was teaching the new girl how to make it! NOOOOO!

Last night I had a meeting suggested to be had at this location. Based on the friends that suggested it, I knew it would be a GEM. I was instantly  impressed with the very colorfully lighted walls, Bright White store. Right away the owner gave me the code for the free Wi-Fi and when my company arrived, I sampled the Frozen Yogurt...FRESH, simple selection and lot's of great variety of toppings from Mango to Captain Crunch Cereal. On a special note and thanks to the owner...he let us stay over 30 min longer than they were open because our meeting ran long.

Nice place to go to for a yogurt fix. They have about 4 flavours that change weekly. My fave is the taro with corn pops, mochi and fruit. Word to the wise do not put nuts as toppings its not very fresh. besides that the yogurt is sweet on the tart side. Price is average and the environment is clean, simple and futuristic looking. They also serve bubble tea with tapioca thats just right. To top it off the guy working there is always cheerful.

This place is great. It is bigger than a lot of the frozen yogurt places so you can go here with a group of people and sit around and talk and have frozen yogurt... And the owner who works there has got to be the nicest owner in the world. Also, this happens to be the best frozen yogurt in the city (and so many new frozen yogurt places are popping up). I also love how this are finally has a place where you can go sit down and eat something that happens to be really good, but is not a boring old Starbucks or a really expensive restaurant either. Toronto is a better place because it has Mon Berri.
