Moms to Be is my go to store for baby/toddler items. When registering, the sales associate helped us as first time parents navigate all of the NEED items versus the NICE TO HAVE items. Huge selection and yes, it can be pricey, but they stand behind what they sell.
Don't forget the AS IS store too. Great deals! -

I have such mixed feelings about this place. First of all, the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The challenge is that you will have to wait around for 20-30 minutes trying to get someone to help you (at least on a weekend). They are so short staffed and the store is so cramped that it makes for a bit of a frustrating experience.
As for the range of products, it's great. There's a perfect mix of mid-priced to high-end products that is perfect if you're finding Babies 'R' Us to be dissatisfying. However, when it came to bigger ticket items nothing was ever in stock and I couldn't get a straight answer about when products will arrive - inventory management is not their strong suit. It seems that hot items are constantly on back order.
There are lots of good things about this place, but I suspect they've been too successful for their own good. Products that they said they couldn't get their hands on because of high demand were in stock at almost every other shop in the city.
If they could double the amount of staff and invest in an inventory manager who knows what they're doing, it would be a great shop. Until then, I'll go to the other independent baby stores in the city. -

Very expensive.
I went in looking for a shower gift for a friend (and not having had a child yet) asked for some assistance in finding a good gift. I informed them of the lack of knowledge I had on the types of products they carry, but got no help at all when I asked. The sales girl looked at me like I was an idiot and I was simply informed of the promotions currently going on.
Big store, lots of variety (but knowing nothing about them and not getting any assistance, the variety was of no use to me).
Go in with prior knowledge of products or be prepared to feel looked down upon. -

Their stock is one of the best of the 'yuppie' baby stores in the city - they seem to have just about every brand and style of those must-have's for a fancy baby in the city of Toronto. Beyond the fancy stuff, they also have really great sales on their website every month. I ordered one such item and it was delivered to my home the next day. Great customer service over the phone and a great experience overall. Highly recommended for all your yuppie baby needs.

Surprised by the size of the store. Normally, independent baby/ kid stores are pretty small but this store has an upper level (which I did not visit since my little guy was sleeping in a stroller and I did not see an elevator) and spans the length of 3ish stores?!
Very impressed by their selection of nursing pillows and nursing covers. Prices for these items are reasonable and competitive.
What I also like about this store is they have a selection of demo carriers you can try out.
You can find free parking along the residential streets.Listed in: Mommy Stuff

This store has everything. I really mean everything. It's huge. It also carries a lot of high end products, and a lot of accessories (ie stroller accessories etc). We bought majority of our stuff here, and have been really happy with our experience at this store.
Pros:
Knowledgeable staff, large selection, good baby registry system, good on-line site
Cons:
Prices can be high, and it's hard to find parking -

I love, love, love this store. Why can't we have stores like this in Vancouver? No, instead we either have tiny places that carry a handful of overpriced and impractical but cool looking organic clothes & gifts, or big warehouse places that carry the cheap brands and never have any staff to help you.
What do I love about Moms to Be? Well, I walked in looking for a car seat, which they certainly have. But at the same time, I saw in walking around the store all the stuff I had to painstakingly assemble through trips to the States / mail to my sister's house in the States. They have the Skip Hop bedding I bought, the wall decals I bought, a good selection of swim diapers (and other diapers), the portable bins I use for toys, a very broad selection of Gro Baby sleep bags in all patterns and weights, my UppaBaby stroller and all the accessories for it, etc. It's everything I had to scavenge for on the other side of the country, all in one place.
At the same time, they have staff around and they're helpful. I walked out with a number of things I had in the back of my mind to buy, but hadn't expected to find on my business trip. I'm looking forward to having to be back in Toronto every couple of months so I can shop at Moms to Be. -

Awesome baby store with excellent service. Staff are helpful and eager to serve. I needed some items that were not normally carried at the store so the staff found a way to get the items for me.
In addition, prices are lower than Toys R Us. Absolutely love this store. -

ABSOLUTELY LOVE this store!
They've always been very helpful and eager to help anyway they can. One staff member even went as far as telling me Bugaboo prices would be going up in a couple days!
Their website is great too with videos and tips on just about everything!
The only thing they lack is sufficient parking is very- 2 spots available just outside the store and for a prego girl like I was - my visits were, as a result, more scarce -

Great size for an independent baby store with a little bit of everything. I would much rather shop here than Toys R Us. I can always find what I'm looking for here. The staff is always friendly and can answer my questions.
I could spend a fortune here... -

Great service with TONS of groovy gadgets for soon-to-be-parentals. This place can be pretty pricey, but worth scoping out for your baby shower wishlist. Might as well register at this "mom-and-pop" type store, since the selection is ginormous. You wouldn't want to miss a thing.

Fantastic selection. Has just about everything you could want. I did shop around for baby gear like strollers, etc. and generally found better prices elsewhere but still bought majority of baby stuff from here.
