Review from Dave D.

Pricey but yummy bar food. Yam fries are nice and crisp. I had the Nick burger names after Nick of the Beachcomber TV series. Needless to say it was a lamb burger. Seafood chowder was well received too. Nice to see they old Beachcombers hangout alive and well.
Good size portions too.
Lastly, the ownership has changed and I understand the food has had a major upgraded due to that. So if you went there years ago and weren't impressed, maybe try again. -

Like Mark H. said, I'm not old enough to know much about Beachcombers. I only heard about it on this trip. However, I do know good food, and I can saw that the food here was nice. I ordered the lamb burger and it was sooo good! The bun was perfect, the burger was lamby (which I like), and it came with feta and garlic mayo. Super Yummy! The onion rings and fries were pretty good. The side salad looked nice as well. However, the other big winner of our lunch here seemed to be the chicken club sandwich. It was huge and looked really flavourful. And as far as I know, the guys liked it.
Plus, they had good coffee.

Great casual location for a nice meal at a decent price. With a window seat you are overlooking a beautiful marina. The fish and chips are the best and there is plenty. Wait staff are efficient and pleasant.

Molly's Reach was indeed featured on "a TV show"
The Beachcombers! It was on every week for almost twenty years-- how could you miss it?
It's kind of a Canadian icon, and so, of course this bar is famous.

Our friend had some lifelong ambition to go to this place to celebrate her personal attachment to the seventy's and, okay the eightee's.
What I can tell you about it is that I found it to be very cute and the fries are exsssselllllent!
Yum.
As you may know by now, I'm on a Fries kick. Not just any Fries, but I am hear to tell you now that I intend to find the best Fries in BC and tell you about it.
The service at Molly's Reach was great, friendly and patient.
The outdoor patio was perfect.
Oh yeah, and the Tee Shirts are nice too :-)Listed in: "Wanna get outta Dodge"?

At the top of the dock off Gibson's Landing. Can't miss it, yellow building that apparently used to be on a TV show. Nice views of the harbour and a good patio for people watching.
Serviceable food, amazingly long wait for seafood "chowder" - which turned out to be cafeteria-like vegetable soup with a side of chopped up seafood bits (a side as in like a ketchup paper cup side), clams and calamari. Really disappointed in the "chowder", it was really just vegetable water. I thought they had made a mistake in my order, until she pointed out the side of chopped seafood bits.
A bit better luck with the fried oyster burger. Comes with decent fries and an over-sauced salad. I guess it's hard to go wrong with most things deep-fried. -

Came back again. Bought some T-Shirts and had myself a Lamb burger. Juicy lamb patty on toasted bun (I only ate the bottom half of the bun - trying to not ingest too many carbs) and had a ceasar salad with it. Cup of java from Salt Spring Island and I was good to go for a walk around town.
My Buddy Rino had the fish and chips which he said was good. The clam chowder was nice with big chunks of clams (not the cheapo canned itsy bitsy clams). A bit of grit from the clams helped to make it more authentic???
The waitress was very nice and knowledgable about the food and the history of the old Diner.
For this meal, I have it at a good 3.5 to 4 stars.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I'm not old enough to know much about The Beachcombers so that novelty is not appealing. The food is best described as 'reheated frozen' as there is no taste whatsoever. Maybe go here for a drink for the view.

Since I live in Gibsons, I have to be satisfied with what little selection there is. Fortunately, Molly's is one of the few reliable spots in town. It makes no pretense to haute cuisine: it's well-prepared food for the average resident or visitor. The place feels like a lively local eatery or pub. Lunches and dinners are tasty. Coffee and deserts, specially deserts, are far better than average. Brunches are great, such as their crab cakes or bennies. The waitresses are all friendly and I've always found the service to be good. All in all, it's a good place for a meal, if you're looking for tasty food at a decent price.
