Mo:Le may be a casual breakfast joint but it's one of the best! It has amazing menu options that other places don't offer. Their banana pancakes are my absolute favourite! Super healthy being made with spelt flour but the also have the banana split and placed in the middle of the banana practically carmelized. I have yet to see this item on any other breakfast place I've visited.
They offers hash browns that are complemented with pesto making them taste fresh and creamy. Potato gratin is something you don't see on menus that often and this gruyere one blows all others out of the water. It's ooey gooey deliciousness ready to be eaten to the last bite. Wild smoked salmon scramble offers a fresh local salmon on top of fluffy creamy eggs.
The service is quick and friendly but make sure to not get to this joint too late or you'll be waiting a while for a good seat.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 17, 2018
From the moment I saw pesto potatoes, I knew that I simply had to eat at Mo:Le while in Victoria. The recommendation by our Airbnb host sealed the deal. We happened to stay practically right across the street from the restaurant and walked over to put our name on the list on a Sunday around noon. With about a 20 minute wait, we decided to go for a walk around the block and take a look at Chinatown, which is just on the next street over.
Since we were on vacation and I was trying to avoid having leftovers, I created my own breakfast with a single banana spelt pancake and a side of the pesto hash browns. The pancake had a subtle banana flavor that helped it to stand apart from standard pancakes. The slice of banana running through it looked odd but didn't detract from the taste or texture. The pesto potatoes, while good, didn't quite live up the hype. I felt like they needed a bit more seasoning but were otherwise good. Just not as amazing as I was expecting.
My boyfriend, who was more in the mood for lunch than breakfast, ordered the maple balsamic grilled veggie sandwich with a side of the pesto potatoes. Unlike most restaurants, he had a wide range of options to accommodate his vegetarian diet. The menu even noted that almost every item could be made vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free.
If we lived in Victoria, I could see this restaurant becoming a favorite of ours. Since we don't, however, I'll just have to recommend that everyone I know give it a try instead.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - 4366581780Apr 6, 2019
This is a tight spot in downtown Victoria. The brunch is popular enough that you'll be waiting 15-20 minutes. You might use that wait time to check out the queues of the other places and you'll find yourself right back where you started. They own the coffee shop next door as well, from what I can see, so while waiting you have the opportunity to be upsold on a latte next door to help pass the time. Despite the name of the restaurant, there is no Mexican flair to the menu, no Chicken Mole sauce or anything like that. It's just a simple straightforward western brunch with sufficient hipster vibe. Put it on your brunch list

They have a large menu and some great vegan and gluten free options. You also have the option of building your own breakfast but the price for that would add up quickly. I was feeling super hungry and craving brunch - chose this place because they close later than other brunch restaurants. I got the wild salmon scramble with sourdough toast, fruit, avocado, roasted mushrooms and a vegan tofu scramble on the side. The sourdough and fruit portions were very generous but the wild salmon scramble was definitely smaller than expected. Vegan tofu scramble was a little disappointing and several of the onions were burnt black.
They close at 4 and I felt very rushed finishing my last piece of toast. One of the staff started mopping pretty close to me and I felt uncomfortable staying longer, despite offering to settle the bill first before finishing my food. Some of the staff were all dressed up and presumably ready to leave work.
Having worked in the food industry I understand that customers shouldn't stay too long after closing, but I was a little shocked to find that it was only 4:05 when I exited the restaurant. Aside from being rushed to finish my food, I think the quality and selection of all-day brunch was pretty good and would come back another time. I'll definitely try to come earlier though.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 17, 2018
Loved all the great options on this restaurants menu. Definitely a great place for brunch! The locals that come here told me the lineup is usually out the door on the weekends but if you want to get a coffee while you wait they have a deal with the cafe next door who will let you know when your table is ready! I had the most amazing eggs benedict with lots of veggies like zucchini eggplant caramelized onions and goat cheese on a fresh buttermilk biscuit. I also had the pesto roasted potatoes as a side and the lattes were made to order. The service was great and I wish this place was closer so I could brunch there all the time!

Surprisingly the yummiest brunch food I have ever eaten. Let's start with the drink! Warm apple cider is a MUST! Vegan chichi is a MUST-tastes like a piña colada. The Bloody Mary and the Caesar options were both great! I ate the curry noodles and it was warming to the soul. I wanted to try the mushroom hash, but it had egg whites. It looked so bomb!

Hands down. Best breakfast/ brunch I have EVER had. And being from Portland - that's saying a lot. Our waitress was Rachel who was a joy to interact with, and checked on us not too much or too little.
My husband and I came in and we're seated right away. We started our meal with a Caesar for him, and a Bellini-type drink for me. Both fresh and tasty. We ordered some warm apple cinnamon banana bread and dug in before our main dishes came out shortly after. My husband got a smoked salmon scramble with pesto hash browns and toast. I got a yam/goat cheese egg white omelette with salad and toast.
Everything was out of this world incredible. FRESH, delicious, local when possible... you can tell love was put into these dishes.

Was pretty good. Cool little vegan restaurant downtown Victoria. Was a short wait to get in but service was quick and very nice.
I had banana pancakes served with whipped cream and fruits. Very good. My partner had a yam omelette with pesto hashbrowns. He loved it. All the dishes being served looked amazing.
I'm happy. Had a good breakfast. Good to go.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 10, 2016
Tasty little place to grab some lunch! Very busy during the lunch rush though so be prepared to wait if you find yourself wanting to eat around at golden time.
I was thoroughly impressed by their strong selection of healthy meals, and after a while, finally settled on the Pro Vita Meal and as a treat, got a spelt banana pancake. The tofu stir fry, sautéed in that spicy chili bean sauce was really good! It definitely had a strong kick, but it wasn't too strong which would of made it off-putting or not enjoyable to eat. It had a strong, but manageable level of spice. Had a lovely salad and a small cup of cottage cheese. Can't say much about either, both were fresh and tasted fresh. The banana pancake was a sweet little addition to my meal. Added some syrup and a dollop of whipped cream for a tasty way to finish out lunch.
Meal was good but I didn't leave feeling full so I could of benefited with something more. I would definitely come back though, as pretty much everything on their menu looks appetizing, healthy, and delicious! Busy place but it's worth the wait.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Marie B.Central, Vancouver, BC1861113Oct 29, 2017
Gluten free toast! Yes!!!! Great breakfast potatoes which paired well with the salty smoked salmon. The atmosphere is really warm and relaxed.
Menu: I had the wild smoked salmon scramble which comes with three scrambled eggs, cream cheese, smoked salmon and lemon-lime crème fraiche. I asked for the diary to be placed on the side. The pesto potatoes were great but could have used a touch more salt that day.
Service: The staff was great and they all were very friendly towards each other and to us even during the crazy Sunday brunch rush.
Venue: The restaurant is very casual. The decor is very unassuming and hip with exposed brick walls.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
