The only reason that I am not giving Moksa Pickering 5 stars is because classes get canceled  all the time....

There are alot of specials, most noteworthy the $40.00 introductory unlimited for a month special, after that the prices get a bit steep. You are also encouraged to join their volunteer program which involves a few hours of work per week to allow you unlimited access to the Studio.

** On Friday nights for those who are tight on a budget there is a 5 dlr (recommended minimum) special Karma Class :) !!

Other than that, the staff is the most friendly I have ever met. New comers are greeted with a very welcoming attitude. The atmosphere makes you feel safe and enables you to learn peacefully.

The studio is always clean and inviting with a relaxing theme throughout.

There is always the option of a towel and/or mat rental incase you have forgotten yours at home, these both are at a cost of $2.00.

All in all, Hot Yoga at Moksha is addictive and good for you :)

This facility could really use a few upgrades. The front desk and entrance way is no doubt spacious and beautiful, but aside from the frontal facade, the women's change room (which next in importance to the practice room, is crucial in aesthetic) needs some works.

There are 3 showers with enclosed doors (6/10), there is only 1 toilet/washroom (2/10), and the space is compact (2/10).

If the studio was filled to full capacity, in order to use the change room, a line definitely would need to be arranged. Overall, if they had reduced the space at front and increased it where it's more important (the change room), it'd've received a much higher mark from me. Overall 4/10 (and this is entirely for aesthetic).

Since I moved back to Pickering after a long trip, the first thing I needed to do when I put down my luggage was find a yoga studio to stretch out my back. I was used to a multi-class-style studio (in Ottawa, I always went to Rama Lotus) but my mom said good things about this place and she was willing to drive me there, so it worked for me.

The studio is large and airy, with bright change rooms and brighter practise rooms (I agree with the previous reviewer who said that it is almost too sunny!). There is a second, unheated practise room but for $16 per class I really want to sweat. There are economy ($8) classes offered throughout the week.

The teachers were helpful, but not too handsy, and the $40 for an unlimited introductory month of classes is an amazing deal. If it offered a larger variety of classes (and I realize that Moksha studios offer only Moksha-style classes), I would be more inclined to get a class package.

Also for those interested, they have treatment rooms for massage and skin treatments, and a small area for merchandise.

I really like going to Moksha Yoga Pickering. The classes are great, the instructor comes around to help you with your postures, and customer service is great.
The washroom / change room is always nice and clean, and then smell of the facility is very clean. I was happy to learn they use all-natural cleaning products.

During my summer vacation, I found myself in the GTA staying with friends in Whitby and decided I wanted to get some yoga in.  I'm a regular practitioner at Moksha Yoga Halifax and thought it'd be awesome to check out another studio.

Seeing they had an "economy" class which sounded like a great deal, I headed off to find the studio.  It's in an almost empty office building but is generally a really nicely laid out studio - bright with windows, a pretty nice changeroom, and a little "merchandise" section.

Compared to my "home studio", it was a bit different - none of the ridiculous humidity that makes Moksha Yoga Halifax so torturous and yet so awesome, but a drier, more intense heat.  It was pretty nice, actually.  The only real drag was as I settled into savasana a train rolled by and kind of ruined the atmosphere, but that's going to happen.

Only real downside of the whole day - despite there being only maybe six people in the room, no real adjustments or "teaching", just guidance through the series.  That was a little let down, I like smaller classes because I can get some actual help improving my poses.

I did like that the teacher added flows at the beginning of class and throughout, rather than just putting them in at the end which is common, and not my favourite thing.

They have a lot of package options, and a great facility, I'll be back next time I'm in the area.

Moksha Yoga Pickering is under the same management as Moksha Yoga Markham.

The studio since it is less than 1 year old, is spacious and nice decorated in a more pastel theme. The practice room is bright and sunny... with floor to ceiling windows on 2 sides... and it can be way too sunny especially for savasana!

There are 2 rooms one for heated and one for room temperature so they are able to offer a lot more varieties of classes!

The change room is nice with 3 individual showers and all the things you need and more...

The teachers that teaches at this location is similar to Markham location and even the class pass you can use that at both studios.

I used to attend classes at Moksha in Scarborough but glad that they opened this location (closer for me).

The instructors I've had so far are pretty good and the room is a good size.  I've yet to experience a packed class like I did at Scarborough.

Still wish their change rooms were bigger, though.

If you pay with cash you get extra classes, that's cool.

I came here with my Eastender friend on a weekday afternoon for the 12:30 class.

It's far out (for me) compared to most city schools, however, if one even lives in Scarborough, the highway route isn't far at all, and it's located a few minutes West of Pickering Town Centre, Outlet stores and a flea market if you were looking for a day trip venue.

In terms of decor, this studio reminds me a lot of Moksha North York in the kind of basic simplicity one would expect from a studio located in a commercial/office building. That said, the Moksha Pickering very large for a single class session studio.

The changeroom facility is well-equipped with individual showers and a bright, non-intimate space for changing. I'm no fan of ghost-like studios, but I loved that it wasn't overly busy when we were there.

The practice room is huge with cool-looking wood panneled flooring, but the drawback here, is the commercial building being so close to the highway. The practice room is actually facing the 401, and it's no joke when you can hear trucks blaring in the middle of your Shavasan.

The drawback at Moksha Pickering (aside from the Traffic issue) is the lack of service at the front desk. The woman manning the front desk upon our entry wasn't cross when we met her, but became increasingly so when we registered and further so when as she glanced at our Passport to Prana cards (which she gave a once over, and then a twice... Okay, more like a stare down the card session).

The upside was the instructor's level of teaching. She was skilled, and you'd know it by the tips and quality of advice I'd never heard before. Now that I think of it, she was also quite persuasive during abdominal sequence, as I pushed myself like never before.

If you live in the East end of Toronto, this studio is worth a visit. You'll be stretched out for days.
