Found a new place in Ottawa! As a first timer to this particular Yoga studio, they make you feel very welcome. Signing in is a piece of cake and layout of the space is so straightforward.

The change rooms are open concept, no lockers for belongings so bear that in mind when packing your bag I suppose. I felt totally comfortable with that though because a) I don't think of yoga-people as ones to steal and b) there's always someone at the front desk to keep funny business at bay. There's plenty of room for everyone, even when it's the rush of people leaving class and people waiting for the next one.

The class itself was very good! I've done Bikram before, but not Moksha and this was a Moksha Flow class. Gotta say, it was flowing in there! They integrate sun salutation into the various poses which keeps thing interesting and challenging. Obviously it gets hot in there, so bringing in water and towel as they suggest is a very good idea.

Kind of a ripoff, but if you forgot to bring a water vessel of your own, you can rent a jar for two dollars. Yep, a mason jar for an hour, for a toonie. But water is quite essential so remember to bring your own!

The teacher was excellent. She was very calming and walking around all the time. In other places I've been, the instructor is at the front showing you the poses but in this one you really have to listen and focus on what you're doing. Also, it majorly helps that there are so many mirrors. Not going to lie, as a first timer, I was sneaking many peaks and that's ok.

I've already been back and will continue throughout the summer. It's a great work out leaves you feeling it the next morning. Moksha Flow. Just do it.

Fellow Yogis! Make sure you check out Moksha Yoga Ottawa.

It had been a while since I signed up for a regular yoga class. Being a student, I found myself drawn to cheap walk in classes and school run programs. That being said, upon my graduation, I decided to treat myself and bough a month long membership to Moksha Yoga, a strictly hot yoga studio. I was pretty excited to see their various pricing options; it is easy to get a yoga plan that fits within most people's budgets. There are drop in classes, classes for charity on Fridays, Month long memberships, or class packages (10 classes for $100) etc. I purchased their unlimited first month of yoga classes, a great deal for only $40.00!

The studio is nice and bright, with full mirrors at the front of the room. Moksha has not been too busy when I have gone so far, but granted I am usually there at 7:00am or a little bit later! The teachers have been very friendly and very knowledgable. They do a fantastic job at accommodating various levels of Yogis within one room, without it feeling awkward or unbalanced.

There are two change rooms (male and female) where you can drop your belongings before class, and I believe that there is one shower in each one. It would be nice to have more than one shower (so. much. sweat!) but it is not a huge deal. They also rent mats, towels and mason jars for water by the front desk. The small store by the registration desk also has a small variety of yoga-esque apparel for sale.

On Mondays and Wednesdays they offer late night classes (9:30pm). I wish that they had this every night, as it would be great for those of us who work evenings to be able to pop in and enjoy a nice, long unwinding stretch after a busy day. Their schedule does change each month, so check out their website to stay informed.

For those of you interested in, or looking into hot yoga, I would absolutely recommend Moksha.

    Namaste!

This is my favorite yoga studio. They only do hot yoga (Moksha) and they only have one room, but it is clean, beautiful, and not smelly (a great trait for a hot yoga room because people are constantly dripping sweat everywhere!)

They don't have as many classes as larger studios (rama lotus) but their class times are competitive so there is usually one when you want one!

They also do charity yoga on Friday nights, which is a minimum 5$ donation, that all goes to charity. The yoga teacher volunteers her time for that class, and the class type varies. This is great because it makes yoga accessible to people who normally wouldn't be able to drop 10-15$ on a class.

Check out their website for a full list of classes and keep an eye out - the owner is looking to open a second location in Ottawa...maybe in your neighborhood?

Been going to Moksha for two years now.  It is professionally run, great facilities, great teachers, and great location -- especially for folks without cars.  Participants of all ages seem to enjoy it, though the average attendee is a 20-something female.  There are beginners sessions for people who want to learn the basics or who have qualms about exercising in a room heated to 104F.

There is nothing better when it's minus 20 than 90 minutes of sweaty yoga.  This said, poor Moksha has outgrown its facilities -- it is just too busy for me to enjoy anymore.  The addition of an online registration system helps -- as do the little green tapes on the floor to delineate mat territory but the line-ups, the cold water showers and the distraction of 60 or so people trying to achieve nirvana at the same time isn't working for me. My husband and I are on the hunt for something less crowded out in the 'burbs.
