M.O.B.Y.S. was amazing! It just re-opened under new ownership, and not only is owned an operated by a lovely family the food, service and drinks are not to be missed either.
They have an awesome selection of local beers on tap and their wine list is extensive too. Everything on the menu is deliciousl and quite veggie friendly (I recommend the Portobello burger and salads were super yum) and filling too.
Located directly on the water, the combination of the rustic architecture and the seaside view create a lovely ambiance. If you are on Salt Spring I highly recommend checking it out and say hi to the family: Robert, Dave and Jen. -

The food was great even though there were shell bits in our shucked oysters. The lamb burger was very nice and the wings were delicious. They are a very green restaurant which i appreciate and the views are lovely. The service was a slow at times and some little things were missing like a second spoon for my partners cup of coffee and spoons for the sauces for the oysters. that being said, we ate there several times during our 3 day visit so that says something!

Moby's doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's surprisingly large and nice inside. Definitely a proper pub, not a chi chi gastropub, they serve excellent food and offer one of the best indoor views I have ever enjoyed. Certainly the best I found on SSI. I had the mussels (local mussels - twice as large as any I've had before) with fries (homemade) and mayo (nice touch). I also enjoyed two of the many local beers available on draft - the barkeep knew his stuff. He was able to find me exactly what I wanted (first hoppy, then dark) and steered me to local brews rather than megabeers. The food wasn't cheap, but nothing was on salt spring, and at least this was great food rather than tourist pub slop. I'd be a regular if I lived here, and will certainly make this my first stop on my next visit.

Robert Steinbach is a Productivity and Workflow Coach who also has a serious passion for Great Food! As a certified sommelier, and with many years of experience in business, he ensures that not only that his customers enjoy their dining experience, but that Moby's is operated as an Open Team-Effort.
His leadership with his team shows in the experience you will enjoy at Moby's ~ as he has used his skills to bring out the full potential with his team.
In addition to founding and leading two companies, Robert has held top-level executive positions in two others. He has enjoyed working as an architect, a money manager, and a financier.
