I'm not sure if I've written about my past obsession with Vietnamese food or the fact that I was dating a Vietnamese girl for 3 and half years. But it's a shame that Miss Saigon couldn't satisfy me. It would have been nice to have a local joint to pick up so Vietnamese food when I'm jonesing for some in North Bay. But there were a number of issues I had with this place. First and foremost, no Cilantro!? HOW ON EARTH ARE YOU SERVING PHO WITHOUT CILANTRO!? It just doesn't make sense to me. Cilantro is like a key ingredient in Pho and without it the pho tastes bland to be frank. My second qualm with this place is that they didn't have anything in stock that I wanted to eat. Which is partially understandable as a new opening restaurant but make an effort to ensure your servers let the customers know that your out of something particular so they don't start drooling over the idea and then let down by the fact that they can't have it. This brings me to my last point, the service. I'm not sure what the deal was the night we went in but there were three tables in total, one waitress, and the service was still mediocre. Any time I have to ask to put my order in I get particularly annoyed with a restaurant. And this was the case with Miss Saigon.

I'll be curious to see if some of the new restaurants opening in North Bay will reach viability. And I hope they do so when the day comes that they are established I will revisit them in hopes of a better experience so I can come and brag about it to the Yelp community.
