Review from Sonya D.
Mississauga, ON
I had signed up for trial periods at a couple of different yoga studios, and MiraVena came out way ahead. Even if you are not a local, it's easy to get to coming from East, West, or North, as it's a quick exit off of the QEW. Located in a large shopping plaza, parking is never an issue. Don't be thrown off by the unassuming exterior; the moment you walk through the studio entrance you know you've come to the right place.
You will be greeted by friendly desk staff who are ready to answer any questions you may have. The studio is warm and cozy - you will find yourself coming early to enjoy a complementary mug of tea before your class.
There is a surprisingly huge variety of class styles, lengths and times. The hard part is deciding which class to take. Sometimes I go twice a day. I had never understood the appeal of hot yoga until I attended my first class here and I am now hooked. Who knew sweating profusely could feel so good?? Every teacher I have encountered here has been wonderful and genuinely focused on helping students to improve.
Relaxation continues when you return to the change-room/bathroom for a quick rinse. I love that respect and consideration are promoted throughout with simply written memos. I've been to yoga classes where students push their way in and out of the room vying for the "perfect spot." You won't encounter any of that rudeness here, and they're all perfect spots.
As great as all of this is, my favourite aspect of this studio is the commitment to environmental consciousness, which is evident in its sustainable cork floors, toxin free cleaning products and filtered tap water.
I'm not an easy person to please, and this studio has fully won me over! -

Not sure why I gave a mediocre review last time, but took a regular Moksha class (they call it Series) today.
The studio has debranded itself from the Moksha name, but they run basically Moksha style classes with the trained teachers.
The studio has a big open waiting space. The change room is bigger than most of the ones I've been to with wooden cubbies for everyone and 3 nicely tiled showers.
The water is filtered and you can get it from the tap.
The class today at 5pm on Friday was small. it's nice because she can spend more time with each of us. I had spoken to her about my low back issues, and she gave me some tips and tricks to try during the class. This was excellent. I had just been complaining that I've been finding my weekly practice boring - and now I have something to work with again!
She was a great instructor with a clear voice, but not harsh - friendly with a sense of humour. She's also careful about alignment (something you don't really se in a a lot of classes). Since we were such a small class, she had use turn with our profile to the mirror and helped us become aware of our body. I really liked this.
60 Mins today was just enough, but could have gone for 75 and held the poses longer.
I'm a big fan of the place, excellent the location. It's hidden away in this strip mall on the 2nd floor behind this California restaurant, I hate the lingering and leering looks from these people of a certain type on the patio.Listed in: Om.........Namaste, Laura's Award of Excellence -…, Yoga Studios that I would take…

Review from Betty T.
Toronto, ON
This studio was my first hot yoga experience almost 2 years ago, and after a brief hiatus and many other hot yoga studios travelled, I'm happy that I've returned.
Actual Yoga - the Moksha brand has never failed me, and I've been to a couple of studios in Southern Ontario and the GTA. The Moksha Flow routine is predictable and the generally the same across most studios, which, for a beginner, is great to get used to the poses.
The Studio - the upkeep of the studio has deteriorated since I was there 2 years ago. The ladies's room smells like BO, but I suppose that is expected given that it's a hot yoga studio.
The Teachers - I've been to the regular classes, karma and community and have never been disappointed. Out of all the studio hopping I've done, I've truly enjoyed the quality of the teachers at this Mississauga location. -

4.5 Stars!
I came here yesterday for another class. This time it was during the day, and the studio looks quite different at night. I was able to see everything much better this time around, and the studio's colours are very soothing, and everything is immaculate, just as a yoga studio should be.
The service was fantastic, -just like my previous visit. Also, I can tell the staff loves their working environment since they go that extra mile to help you and make you feel welcome.
My instructor this time around, was Michelle and as far as Moksha instructors go, she's a great person from whom to learn. Adjustments were given throughout the class at every single position, and it truly felt like she was immersed in helping each yogi through their practice.
I appreciated the inserted physiological facts about which position helps what organ/muscle/ligament, and it be great if she threw even more of those facts into the mix (for geeks like me). Also, many yoga studios, including the Moksha ones, fail to cue you into the point of each position. I think it's vital to know, so that you don't collapse where you should be stretching, and so on. Michelle's tips made it useful to understand, so we could make quick adjustments ourselves.
I wish I lived closer, -I'd be here everyday.Listed in: Yoga Fire!
