Can't say enough good things about Miomia. Not only does the amazing Hilery Sklar work out of the shop with her magic facials, but Katie Chang has such a brilliant personalized selection of the products she loves and believes in.

I have found gem after gem through Katie and her recommendations. She never hesitates to offer a sample and a thorough explanation of why she digs the product.
I love how everything the store carries is hand picked and stocked for a reason, rather than following trendy labels and ingredients.

Additionally, Miomia has one of the most kick ass selection of scents ANYWHERE. The bottles are all unique delicious smells for both men and women. They offer Mario Badescu products in Williamsburg, so I do not have to travel to the city, plus they sell Mike Potter's kick ass matte nail polish, KnockOut in all the colours.

Buster, the dog, will greet you at the door with his mellow eyes. So many good vibes at this store!

    I LOVE MIOMIA!

When I stopped in, the owner was talking to a friend the whole time and her dog snarled at me while I peeked around.  I love dogs but this one was not exactly the kind you should bring in to work.  After reading about their facials, I was excited to stop in and schedule something and take a look around at the products.  They definitely have some nice stuff, but nothing that was that new or enticing to me.  They could offer more in the way of little gifts too.  My final gripe is that facials are offered only at very limited times during the day (who can do that?)

Miomia could be the worst retail cosmetic experience i have had in many many years. as a fashion executive i have the income to buy what most would consider an excess of cosmetic product. with that said i had been making quite a lot of purchases at Miomia and one of those purchases was a lipstick, i put it on once and it cracked from the stem. i took it back to the store where i was met by the part time help who knew nothing about returns and how they should be handled, he proceeded to txt the owner (he told me this is the only way he communicates with her) and she told him him that i should leave it there for her review, i thought this weird as he was telling her the condition of the lipstick after clearly 1 use. i left it there for one week and upon returning to the store for what i thought would be a pleasant exchange of product i was again met by the same store clerk who could not find the lipstick that he had taken in only 1 week before....he again texted to the store owner and she told him where it might be, he searched some more and then texted with the owner some more and then finally advised me that the owner was not going to do anything for me, end of story and she NEVER looked at it.
i cannot say how disappointed i was to learn that a small local business was extremely uninterested in keeping their local customers happy and quite frankly couldn't care less.
SHOP AT SEPHORA, BARNEYS, BERGDORF, BLOOMINGDALES AND THE LIKE, THESE STORES WOULD NEVER TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS WITH LACK OF RESPECT, and they all take back cosmetics.

Just had and INCREDIBLE facial with Hillery Sklar @ Miomia. THe store is well stocked with a great variety of  corporation free  notions and potions for the skin.  Hillery did a very thorough, deep cleansing facial with the right balance of chit chat and quiet time.  She really got in there.  Worth every cent.

Miomia rocks! Katie's the owner and always very cheerful/helpful in providing product advice. They have a wide variety of facial/beauty products that range from the more common (e.g. Malin&Goetz) to some obscure/rare brands I haven't come across. Store definitely carries more products for men than the typical beauty/grooming store which is not common and definitely a plus. Didn't realize it but apparently they have an aestheticialn providing services to (facials, etc.). Must have added that fairly recently (its by appointment only). I can't review the services since I haven't tried them yet, and not sure I ever will (might take some serious arm twisting) but if I do I'll gladly update my review.

Miomia has lots of unique, effective, corporate-free, and cruelty-free beauty and grooming products to both men and women. They have an environment where everyone can get beauty tips but you will not feel pressured to buy anything.
In order to go you must visit their website because they have different hours during the week.
On their website you can also buy products and learn about skin care and beauty.
If you want to have beauty lessons, brow-shaping and applications you can contact Thomas McEntee, a make-up artist, who will teach you how to be pretty and natural. (contact him in advance to know about his schedules and prices).

Miomia is one of my favorite online shopping stores. Yeah, Sephora has all the brands, but it's really daunting. Here at Miomia, the selection is small, but it carries all the brands that Sephora wishes it had - Malin and Goetz, OSEA, Julie Hewitt and, my personal favorite, Knock Out Nail Polish. I visit her website once week, mentally noting the next bunch of products I want to order. :)

But really it's all about outstanding service. Katie, whom I assume is Head Lady in Charge, has always been super helpful and quick in response (via email). I had a problem with the website not recognizing the free shipping (for orders USD$75!), and she amended it within 24 hours. Plus the first time I ordered, I wanted to edit my order and she was helpful and made it happen.

One day, I'll be in NYC again, and I'll finally get to experience Miomia first hand. :)

Katie the owner is great. Awesome selection of cosmetics and carry black out- the matte nail polish!
Check when Thomas is there- the best and most gentle brow job ever. I never do my eyebrows but I heard good things so gave it a shot and wasn't sorry- he's a 10 out of 10. GO!

Great selection of products that you can't find just anywhere. Prices are very reasonable for what you're getting (this stuff isn't what you'll find at your typical mass market drug store, so don't expect to pay those sort of prices). Plus they have a great dog!

Great selection of men's products, which I appreciate. I hate going to skin care stores with my wife and they either don't have any men's products or have a really tiny section.

I highly recommend that both men and women pop into this new store on Bedford Ave. Forget Sephora. Forget Duane Reade. When in need of balm, cleanser, exfoliant or scents for your delicate skin, Mirror Mirror is the only place to go.

The place is filled with high end products that will not only make you swoon at the price tag, but will also entice you into buying. I'm a sucker for lotions. The minute I entered this pretty boutique, I knew I was going to walk away with something I really didn't need, but couldn't live without. You know that feeling? Yeah, well, Mirror Mirror creates that in spades. Let me say this though, the items I bought are the best I've ever owned. I'm not kidding... I've never been so soft to touch! It's incredible and I did not harm nary a little furry animal. Everything in the store is organic and/or not tested on animals. Amazing. I also got a pregant friend of mine this wonderful anti-strech mark creme that she now swears by.

They also  have an array of products for men of all types - active, lazy, ego-driven - so fellas, if you want to impress, go to Mirror Mirror.

Despite the fact I've yet to visit this store, I am in love (LOVE) with it! Over a year ago I came across MioMia searching for Baxter's of California after a great review of their products via Men's Health, and learned MioMia has more to offer than pretty smelling lotions. The stock of men's care products available are a budding beauty freaks dream come true with moisturizing lotions, protein shampoos, hair styling gels, and colognes that will cause all to pause and appreciate your sense.

My first set of products from here was through the sample pack that included items from Baxter's, but Katie added other things for me to try (facial scrub & toner). This extra care for a first time consumer impressed me so much I started buying my skin care products from MioMia.

Katie, the owner, is a DOLL...

The store carries a nicely edited selection of skincare, shaving, fragrances, candles, cosmetics, and even Thank You cards!

You will like this store so much that you'll buy a Thank you card for the owner and seal it with a kiss! This store is wonderful!

Despite a small space, MioMia carries an excellent selection of high end colognes and perfumes.  My wife fell in love with the Histoires de Parfums line when we were in France and this is the only shop we found in NYC that carries it.  The owner is very friendly, helpful, and generous with samples.

This proved to be good for business as we came back today to buy the 1969 cologne she gave us a sample for the last time we visited.  It shouldn't be too long before we come back to pick me up the Jovoy Boise cologne she gave us a sample of ... DAMN HER!!!!

Katie, the founder of Mio Mia, is truly an amazing and caring person.  She has the most amazing selection in men's and women's grooming products.  She carries the most cutting edge and advanced products in skin care today.  She stands behind each brand and tells you honestly if something works or not.  This is the only place I will buy my Mario Badescu basics and find out about brands like Dermelect.  Check it out!

Formerly MirrorMirror, Mia Mia is a great cosmetic shop for girls and BOYS on Bedford.  They had to change the name after some stupid mean lady claimed she had the rights to it.  But MiaMia is just as fun, and has a nice ring to it. Katie [the owner] is super friendly and helpful.  She always knows exactly what to give you and so far, she's batting 100% with me AND my boyfriend [who is definitely hygiene-challenged].  The stuff can be kind of expensive [sometimes there are sales] but for skin care, it's worth it.  I mean you have to wear your skin ALL the time. . .AND you'll have it for the rest of your life.  The store always has fun events [make-up artists, with free champagne. . .  SCORE!] so it's a great place to be.  It's also right next door to DuMont Burger so if you're waiting to eat, check it out.  She loves to give out free samples so make sure to hit those up.

I am new to this site and I live outside of the NYC area. With my laptop, I can live online in the City and visit frequently to enjoy what NY has to offer without actually having to be there. My experience with MioMia began about three weeks ago when I was looking for products that I found in The Vermont Country Store catalog. This retailer tends to mark up their products substantially. So using my computer, I typed in the name of the product and located it at this metrosexual apothecary in Williamsburg. I thought this was great since not only was it cheaper but the owner offered free shipping and has an adorable dog on the site. If a dog 's fur can look this good, I just knew her products would help my wild hair look better. She was very service oriented, gave me some free products to sample and sent me the  order very promptly. Again I ordered more products, and was given additional samples, along with a complimentary letter in which she told me I rocked. This is funny because I really can't rock anymore.
I won't disclose my age, but I am definitely not a rocker. However, it made me feel so good I didn't care if the products worked or not. And by the way the products are GREAT and my hair is manageable once again.

I go here for the perfume.  I have yet to find a better place in Williamsburg that possesses such a finely edited--and sophisticated--selection of perfume.  A touch of class for the Williamsburg.

Cleanly lit and presented,  I highly recommend this jewel;  especially since I have yet meet a proprietor as lovely as Katie.

Oh, and check out the candles by Malin & Goetz, skincare from REN, and anti-aging products from Dermelect.  The prices are actually quite fair considering the price-points of brands like La Mer, Sisley, etc.

The shop's owner, Katie, is extremely knowledgeable about all of her products. I have complicated, and ever-changing skin, and she has always provided the right suggestions--and samples--for me. She remembers what you've bought in the past, and changes her inventory as newer items become available. All of her products are CRUELTY FREE, which is a major plus. It is a bit more expensive than the drug store, mass produced, paraben stuff, but for so many reasons the expense doesn't seem extra. She saved my skin! And really, that is often what people notice first.

Heaven in a storefront... This shop has a superbly edited selection of candles (great line from Delerium), skin care ( malin + goetz,  Badescu, and other boutique lines), fragrances and makeup, all from small companies that have the best ingredients. I LOVE the Histoires des Partums line ( check out the uber-sexy Tubereuse #3) and she has them all. This stuff is very hard to find! I can do all of my gift shopping in this gem of a store, for men and women.  The owner is knowledgeable and friendly and she always seems to have something I didn't realize I needed!

I had been in need of a facial for literally 2 years, and was totally dragging my heels on breaking the threshold. A friend recommended Hillary at Mio Mia, and I could not be happier with the results. I was convinced that it was bad enough that I needed to get microdermabrasion, but Hillary assured me that all I needed was a good deep cleaning and an updated daily routine. She was very gentle and explained the procedures and products she used on me throughout. I left relaxed and amazed at the instantaneous improvement in the quality of my skin. It took several days for my skin to adjust to the new routine of a vitamin c serum and peel, but I stuck it out, and a month later I am pleased to say, my skin is looking better than ever has. I highly recommend her if you are looking for an esthetician in the Williamsburg area.

It's terrible but I mean that in a good (if not great) way.  The thing is, you go into this brightly lit, clean place and are swept away by all the lovely smells coming out of the bottles and the next thing you know you've spent $50 on lotion.  I must say, though, it's the best lotion I've ever purchased.  You may want to try visiting without a credit card first.

Mio Mia is one of my favorite places in NY.  Me and my dog stop by often to visit Katie, chat  and get a treat.  A bone for my dog and a spritz of cologne for me!  I have spent far too much money there, but am happy to. All of the products that Katie carries are well priced and wonderful.  In addition, she carries no corporate brands, so I am confident that my purchases are helping these wonderful companies thrive and continue to design and share their wonderful formulas with the world!

Mecca!  This store is like being in a candy store only instead of candy its filled with the best skin care products ever.  I could honestly spend an hour there just perusing the entire store's stock, which was all hand chosen by the owner herself Ms Katie who is most delightful to chat with and reason enough to stop in and say hi to.  She can help you with whatever skin care needs you may have and really knows the products and stands behind each one of them.  If she served drinks there I would never leave.
