Review from Melissa C.
Richmond, BC
Minoru park is a close walk from and located in the middle of Richmond Centre, Richmond Public library, Richmond track, Richmond Hospital and Gateway Theatre.
Located in the park is the Richmond Chapel as well. Parking is either pay parking or you can find lots of residential parking and walk 5 minutes.
It's well-known that scattered throughout the park are bunnies and rabbits that occasionally hop right up to your feet because people tend to feed them things. Some are shy, some are bold, whichever the case I love watching them hop around and munch on grass. http://www.yelp.ca/biz...
Minori park has an encircling path that is surrounded by beautiful and colourful bushes of flowers, gentle willow trees, and a central pond usually full of geese with babies or ducks. Signs say to not feed the birds as it brings rodents!
Among the park, there is also lawn bowling. So you can admire the people decked out in their starch white outfits.
Overall, it's a serene getaway from the bustling cars and city, to experience nature in all it's lovely plants, water and animals. Benches and grassy areas are lovely spots to soak it all in. -

A wonderful place to exercise, swim, learn, and just to get away from the loud streets of Richmond...
Walk across the field and you'll find a beautiful man made pond filled with ducks and rabbits.. a serenity in it self. Take in the wonders of nature Richmond has to offer, Relax on the bench and forget all about your problems for that moment...... THEN after get back to your crazy-ass life, paying bills, and student loans, or hiding from your wife or ex-girlfriend,...... you know.... which ever comes first ;)

What better way to spend a beautiful, sunny afternoon than at a park with your best friend and her new baby? Especially a park that features a good-sized pond, fish, ducks, geese, squirrels, and -- best of all -- bunny rabbits?! All things even a big kid, like me, can easily get excited about.
Minoru Park in Richmond, BC, is a gorgeous little oasis in an otherwise-urban centre. Located by the Richmond Hospital, this picturesque spot boasts an impressive number of amenities for young and old alike, including athletic facilities (basketball and tennis courts, sports fields, ball diamonds, a paved pathway circuit, running oval, bowling green, cricket pitch, and more), a kids' playground, plenty of picnic tables and benches for sitting and relaxing, and a serene pond filled with fish and waterfowl.
The first thing that hit us when we entered Minoru Park was the scent of lilacs -- beautiful annual and perennial floral displays bloom year-round throughout the park, in particular by the historic Minoru Chapel, which looks like something out of a storybook. The flowers and grassy areas also provide plenty of bites and nibbles for the park's resident rabbit population, which is a real hit with visitors.
Though we didn't spend much time on the athletic side of the park, my friend Katie, her son Connor, and I spent about an hour strolling around the lake, looking at the birds (but obeying the signs and not feeding them), and taking close-up shots of the bunnies. It was a great way to spend my lunch hour (and a good excuse to be outside in the sun), and seemed to really stimulate Connor, who, at six months of age, is curious about everything, in particular animals. -

The minoru park is so beautiful. A place for people walking after a meal. Watching the scene and playing the swing are so relaxing XD

From Noa G's review...this had to be a "must" visit for me and the wife and Minoru Park did not disappoint!
Fantastic park with lots to do and see. Very calming and relaxing. Great place for your morning wall (around the track or the ponds) or to read or have lunch. The rabbits are plentiful and cute as heck!
We took a ton of pictures...the pictures tell the story more than me typing, so check them out!! -
