In the Marpole area, this would be the best one for these HK style cafes.
I ordered:
1. their signature chicken vermicelli soup, got a bit of that chinese wine
2. congee beef, sure
3. Beijing pork chops, a variation of the sweet and sour, but much better in terms of none of that food colouring, red fake sauce...quite tasty, and surprised as most of the finer dining chinese restos would make this as a dinner entree. i was just here for lunch!
4. flat noodles dipped in soya...no biggie to me, she recommended it.
5. iced cold coffee/tea drink, good coffee flavour.
great service, top up your tea, parking can be a challenge, and clean washrooms. I wouldnt say it's ghetto, but typical, and casual.
Offer delivery which is a bonus since you dont need to drive to richmond or chinatown. -

This is one of our neighbourhood places that we go to regularly - probably once every 2 weeks over last few years since they started at this location. The ambiance is just like a small Hong Kong style cafe in Hong Kong. Service is good (by the definition of a Chinese place).
Over the years, we have tried many things on the menu. In the end, we generally settle on Chicken vermicelli with ginger and gooseberry in the clay pot, clams with cilantro in the clay pot, or pork chop with tan tan noodle on most days.
I am not sure if this is a good enough of a place for me to travel a long distance to visit, but it is certainly more than good enough for a casual dinner on a week night when cooking is off the agenda. -

The noodle soup is tasty and the staff are friendly. This place is A-OK!

Came here to try based on a friend's recommendation. Always driven by, but never tried until now.
The inside is pretty ghetto, but the staff are friendly.
The dishes seem to be lighter on the MSG, which is a good thing. This was especially noticeable in their Singaporean style vermicelli, which also had less oil than other places.
The best dish though are the salty peppery chicken wings. The batter just melts in your mouth. And they're hot and crispy.
Lastly, the milk tea is pretty concentrated. This is a welcome change to many other HK-style cafes where you need to add a pile of sugar to hide the fact it's watered down.
