Review from Jeanette B.

It's so weird, because I've walked past this store so many times and thought, 'wow, this looks like a cool store,' yet I never walked in. I guess I thought this store would be really cheesy, but it really wasn't.
Millenium is a really cool store that sells a variety of things that are either medieval, gothic, or fantastical. I have always loves gargoyles, and they has some very nice gargoyle statues here. Many of them were chipped though, and I am not sure if that's on purpose to make them look old, or if it's because they get banged around a lot. I saw a cool clear skull with red flames on it, but I was surprised when I picked it up. I was sure it felt like plastic, and I think that for $55, it probably was.
There were also some very unique chess sets here. The pieces were different, because they used things like old-looking castles and dragons. These cost $199. They also has crystal balls--how cool! I don't know what I'd do with one, but it would be neat to have one, just for fun.
The other half of the store is full of gothic clothing, like corsets, bondage pants, and very short skirts. -

Everything medieval and fantasy can be found at Millennium. It feels like a piece of the Dark Ages in present day. They have gargoyle statues, crystal balls and an impressive display of war tools. Age nor gender seem to be a matter here; everybody seems enthralled with the war tools case when they come here. Behind glass cabinets are gleaming swords, daggers, battle axes, and war helmets. They even have Kendo sticks. Of course, these items are only for display and aren't intended for use (except maybe the Kendo sticks). They're more for collectors, and the price reflects it.
As you walk through the store, you'll see figurines of wizards, fairies, and dragons. They also have a lot of small crystal skulls, like the one in Indiana Jones. If you're a World of Warcraft fan, they have various trading card sets and boardgames too.
Millennium also sells clothing for both men and women, I think, although I didn't see much for men. It's more of a punk/goth/retro style here, and while that's not usually my thing, I saw some pretty neat stuff. Their jewelry tends to be more punk and gothic than their clothes.
They also have costumes available here, although it's the most expensive I've seen yet, coming to about $110 each. This store reminds me of Sanctuary near Whyte, with its dark fantasy vibe. It feels dark, but it's cool. It's always fun to come here and check out what they have.Listed in: Spooktacular Shops

Millennium is an interesting store to say the least.
Nothing in this store interests me at all but it's always an interesting browse. They carry all types of items of fantasy and medieval nature. They carry things like gargoyle statues, Knight amour, swords, axes, etc. A lot of the things seem to be collectors items but I don't know anyone who collects this stuff. Ya it would be cool to have a battle axe but seriously? What's anyone going to do with a battle axe.
I guess if it's your thing you might buy some stuff here but everyone else can kill some time looking around. -
Review from Paula K.
One of the many cheesy gift stores in West Edmonton Mall selling overpriced knick knacks and novelty gifts for people who need to buy something for the proverbial person who has everything. Most of the stuff here as a gothic and fantasy theme, so if you are in the market for that sort of kitsch, you're in luck. I find a lot of the stuff here kind of creepy. Obviously though, there is a market for this sort of thing or else the store would not exist. It's the kind of place I still take a look at when I am passing through, because like a train wreck, I simply cannot look away.

Millennium is the kind of hobby store I would have had no interest in going into back in high school. In fact, I might have narrow-mindedly called the people who shop there weirdos or freaks. But now I think it's cool (and also know that 'normal' is an erroneous concept). While I was studying to get 'A's and worrying about my hair, they were pouring over fascinating topics like Tarot, the Occult, the supernatural, mysticism, witchcraft, Wicca and other esoteric, fantastical or metaphysical phenomena. Who was building more character, them or I?! This store feels like a cave when you walk in, and it's filled with fascinating, neat things to look at, if you're into medieval-style stuff. For Dungeons & Dragons enthusiasts, or "dungeon masters" who like to really get into their roles, there are lots of props and costumes here to make the game more authentic and exciting. Also, if you're into darker decor, there are wall swords and daggers, cool lights, dragon-inspired art objects and crystals. At the back, there's a good selection of books on a variety of subjects, like people who don't know they're dead and how to channel cosmic energy. Cool stuff, if you dig it.
