wow! The food was great, yeah oh k I had the sterotypical woman dinner. Ceasar salad with chicken. BUT my friend had the steak which I tested out and it was AWESOME. The potatoes were tasy. another person had the appy platter. it wasn't very good but it was better then nothing.

Its a beautiful resturant, with a nice view.

We ended up there because the (super rude) hostess at Cactus Club across the street said there was no way we would get a table for ten by the time they closed at 11. even though it was only 8. but oh well thier loss.

The staff at milestones were so good they not only made sure to accomodate our table but also stayed open I would assume an hour after closing so that we could continue to hang out nad do our thing.

The waitress was friendly, knowledgable (even bringing over the bottle of beverage because one of the boys had questions) and efficent. She had my wine glass filled before it ran dry, and she had the table clear quickly so we didn't get food all over the place.

I truely recommend this resturant, it was exceptional!

I'd probably give this place 4 stars for service, but only 2 stars for food. Maybe I came on a bad night, or ordered the wrong thing.

I went here about a week ago and am just now getting around to writing a review, so I'd rather get straight to the point.

I ordered the sausage ravoli. It came out cold. When the waiter came around to ask how our food was, I told him that it was cold and he immediately took it away and apologized. The manager came out with a new serving that was hot and offered us a free dessert for our troubles.

While the ravoli was much better at the proper temperature, I still wasn't very impressed by it. The sausage did not have a lot of flavor, and the ravolis were very doughy. I don't think I would order it again.

For dessert I got the chocolate torte cake which was nothing remarkable either. I expected much richer chocolate-y flavors from a "torte".

Since this is a chain restaurant, and on the slightly pricy side of things, I probably wouldn't return - just because there are so many independent restaurants that I could try for the same or less money.

After all my brunch quests (many are horrible), I'm back to Milestones, HURRAYYYYY!!! Traditional breakfast and English bay is the perfect spot for people watching too!! But seriously, I came here many times and they have the best service. Once they "forgot" my shrimps in my shrimp benedict, and the manager came to apologize, and my benedict was on the house. No questions asked, and they serve me a new plate instead of just serving the shrimps. They know how to make customers happy.

Im a sucker for good service, and thats what we got. My wife and I went for lunch and sat outside to enjoy the view of the beach. The hosts were friendly and accommodated our seating request.

We ordered vegan options for appetizers and entrees. It took a bit longer than it should've and they actually got the appetizers wrong and we asked the waitress to send it back. That would've been enough for me not to return to the restaurant again, but the manager came to our table and offered us 2 complimentary appetizers for our next visit and didn't charge us for the order they screwed up.

Food was good, although a bit overpriced in relation to quality and portion. But Ill be back.

I'm glad to say that, based on reviews on the DineHere site, we hand-picked, without prior knowledge of Vancouver, the best view in the whole city.  Honestly, we stopped here so we could dine outside on the first sunny afternoon since we've been here.  My husband had just presented his first workshop and we were celebrating his mental freedom (he's napping now, poor man).  We loved it at Milestones.  The food was decent, nice presentation and the service was very good but what we wanted we got: a nice meal with crisp fresh air, sunny skies, and a beautiful view of water and snow-capped mountains.  As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't get any better!  (Oh, valet parking in the alley for $4!)

Ok, 23 reviews on this place and we pretty much know what to expect.  It's safe and it's consistent.

We just finished the grouse grind earlier and decided to go for a walk to the beach after.  Since we hadn't had a chance to "freshen up" after the grind, we thought it might be a good idea if we found an outdoor patio to blend in with the rest of the funk-drenched folks coming from the beach. We quickly did the old european shower with some old spice body spray and  the hostess seated us right away.

We had the cali shrimp benny, breakfast wrap and the lady ordered a bellini.  Pretty good but portions kind of small.

Come here for the "safety factor" and the view.

I usually *love* Milestones but my experience at this location this morning was totally sub-standard from what I expect from this chain.  (I've been to the Robson and South Surrey locations a few times each, and have always had a fab time.  With Bellinis, it's hard to go wrong, right?)  I hope it was just a one-off for the Denman locale, but I think probably not.  Our waiter was less than lack-lustre.  Not fast, nor efficient.  He said he was extremely busy, but looking around, I didn't understand how since there were only a few tables occupied.  He was less than engaged with us.  Brought tea but no milk/cream.  We asked and received it, but several minutes later as our teas grew cold.  He was just cold.  I'm not asking a lot, I don't think... not looking for a best friend, but I'd like someone who took in an interest in serving me my food.

Pet peeve: The new-ish "credit swipe at the table" machine is a great piece of technology... but as a waiter, please don't hover over me as I input your tip into the machine (or discuss it with my partner).  I don't like the 'pressure' or vibe you give off.

So, all that said.  I wonder what will happen when Catcus Club opens up across the way.  Still, Milestones is a great chain, and I will be back.  Just not the Denman location (as I recall the last time I went about a year ago, I was similarly unimpressed).  Make the walk and go to the Robson Street location instead

I've only been here for drinks and appetizers.

    Pros?
    -Big portion sizes on appetizers
    -Great view
    -Outdoor seating with heat
    -Delicious drinks
    -Large menu selection

    Cons/tips?
-The hosts don't seem to know what to do. Luckily, the servers do. Be forceful with the host.
-The non-appetizer meals were a bit pricey

Pretty standard for Milestones. Decent food, but it's chain food: what you get in consistency you lose in creativity. Location is nice and the patio works, save for the noise of the traffic. But a brunch in front of the ocean is indeed nice. Service was nice, if not a little slow. Milestones is good enough if not mildly underwhelming.

This is a pretty deluxe patio to sit on on a hot summer day. I ended up only having to wait ten minutes to get a table for two with a view of English Bay on a Sunday afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised that they were serving brunch until 4pm, so I opted for that since it was such a lazy day.

I ordered the Eggs Milestones, which the server forgot, and had to come back and ask again what I had ordered. No big deal, I'm sure the place is packed and hectic all day when it's this gorgeous out. But then another server brought out these fancy fruit plates and I was a little confused? These plates were too extravagent to be complimentary and I sure as heck didn't order a fruit plate. I needed a greasy benny to settle my angry stomach from a late night of drinking, not a plate of citrus that would burn into my belly. We flagged our server down and he scooped up the plates and gave them to the couple sitting next to us. I was a little surprised they didn't complain, but they could see our confusion and we didn't touch the plates at all. I don't know how I would feel seeing another table get our food and then have it given to us after it had been sitting in front of them for five minutes, but I guess I am a bit picky about that.

Anyways, my breakfast came shortly after, and it was really good. The has browns were comci comca, and for some reason they gave me this weird salsa for them instead of ketchup. Why don't restaurants just give ketchup with hashbrowns, I'm sure that 75% of people probably eat ketchup with their hash, so why make us ask? Milestones must sell burgers, so I can't imagine they wouldn't have ketchup.

This was probably my first visit to Milestones in which I DIDN'T have a bellini, that's right, I have failed you all. My friend had a cesar though, so at least one of us can make you proud. I would have rated this four stars easily, and I will probably be back for brunch again, cuz the benny was really good, but next time try not to mix up the order! Thanks!

Had our last family dinner here when we left the vacation, and it was great.  The waiter was very nice and attentive. I started with a watermelon salad, and it was amazing!  For my meal I had a steak with shrimps & lobster & cream sauce of sorts...so good!  My sisters burger, with avacado and salsa on it was AMAZING.  The bun, the meat, everything about it was excellent!

For a chain restaurant, I think the food and service is very good.  In this particular local, the setting is spectacular and the decor is very nice since they renovated about a year ago.  Menu has been changing a bit over the last while, but it's still very good.  The four cheese burger is fantastic and there are some really nice starters.  The mojito's are also very good.

This place gets 5 stars because I think it does what it does very well and the room and the setting is fantastic.

Vancouver is saturated in decent chain restaurants.  In a category with stiff competition, Milestones falls short.  It lacks the food quality of Boathouse, the service and décor of Cactus or Earls, and the liquids list of Joeys.

I find their success speaks less to their worth and more to Vancourite's love for the chain restaurant simulacra.  The best compliment I can pay is the same one reserved for McDonald's or A&W.  It does not surprise nor innovate, you always know what you are going to get.

There is something to be said, sometimes, for consistency.  Personally I prefer surprises.  I would rather check the new restaurant and risk disappointment then return to the dull consistency of places like Milestones.

Suit yourself, if culinary risks don't tempt you, Milestones is a good, safe, basic, dull, unimaginative and uninspired bet.

    Dessert & BELLINI!

those bellinis are the most incredible thing i've ever had. topped with chocolate cake and vanilla gelato, HEAVEN!

The service was also super nice, even though we came in 10 minutes before closing.  There was no rush at all and they made sure our dessert fun was going smoothly.

I was starving and walking down Robson. Since I didn't have my internet data service on my phone, I took a chance when I saw Milestone's. I saw that it looked trendy but modern and hopefully reliable.  It was. I sat at the bar. The bartender quickly took my drink order, a pomegranate martini $8.99 and I ordered a seafood salad, $18.99. A tad bit pricey for the salad, but it was a huge bowl with grilled salmon and grilled prawns and papayas, sun dried tomatoes, crispy noodles and avocados. It was hearty and so large that I did not finish.

I thought the coolest part was that they had an portable electronic card swiper, which I guess is something probably not so novel in these parts. You could choose the percentage of tip and it would add it on directly to the total and it printed out the receipts right there!! So cool! And your credit card never leaves your side.

Solid 3, the food was good.  It reminded me of Houston's in the LA area; good food, friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere.  Nevertheless it's a chain restaurant, so nothing fancy was expected just consistency and execution.

I found my meal to be filling and decent with an appropriate price tag to follow.  I had the Prime Rib Hash as my main course, along with the Spinach & Artichoke Dip for starters.  Also, the Corn & Potato Chowder and Steak & Eggs weren't bad either!

Hit the spot!  Filled me up when I needed something good.  The view of English Bay also helped make the meal all the more enjoyable.

That's right: a chain restaurant. We all go to them. Usually as a group consensus choice, or when we give up and move to the suburbs. Or, as in A.'s case, when we're craving sangria, which not a lot of places make well.

As far as chain restaurants go, Milestones is a classy place - but restaurant class is, of course, relative. The most up-market of the Cara super-chain, Milestones looks like Moxie's or Earls but, at least in my experience, tastes more like Swiss Chalet.

Maybe that's because I got the chicken. Still, I couldn't help thinking that, for just a few dollars more, I could have eaten at a more memorable independent instead.

I still love this restaurant -and always bring out of town visitors here. for brunch. It's got a  beautiful view of English Bay, and the eggs benedict are always perfect, along with the mimosas.
I was here a couple of months ago for a late afternoon appies and drinks get together , and had the roasted garlic and baked goat cheese plate, with corn and cranberry relishes, along with the spicy thai drummettes The chicken had a nice kick to it, and the goat cheese was good, if you mixed all the toppings together. My companion also had the yam fries which were good with the chipolte mayo, but were a bit undercooked and not very crispy.
Service was a bit off I thought - maybe it was the time of day? I normally come in for brunch when it's busy, or in the evening when the dinner rush is on, or late night, and it's usually good at those times.

My husband and I and two of our friends went to Milestones for brunch today.  We have always liked it in the past but today just reminded me that I need to go more often!  Milestones in English Bay has to have the BEST egg benny's hands down.  Don't even get me started on the bellinis!
Our group of four arrived and we were offered a table with a beautiful view of the ocean.  I know most people would take the table due to the view but we really wanted to feel comfy and cozy so we asked for a booth table.  The booth tables were in a different section where no one else was seated yet but the host had no problem seating us in a booth.  I mention this because I've been to other restaurants where I've asked to be seated in a particular section and the hostess has said "sorry but that section isn't open yet".  This was not the case at all at Milestones.
Once we were seated, our server came right over.  We ordered our bellinis and started our day of leisure....sipping bellinis, eating great food, joking with the server, and basking in the sun coming through the windows.  We had a great time :)
My husband and I ordered the California Benny's which are, still to this day, my most favorite culinary delight!  Two traditionally poached eggs on english muffins with bright green, tasty avacado all over them, then a layer of crispy bacon, then a layer of grilled prawns.  YUM!
I totally recommend the food, the view, the service, and OF COURSE the Bellinis!

I have a sweet spot for Milestones and can be found at the Lougheed location often...

My favorite is the roasted garlic appy with goat cheese, and I love the strawberry/pecan salad with goat cheese too.

I hadn't tried the Denman location and dragged my bf there a few months ago and he had the seafood salad and loved it.

The only reason this location loses a point is that it was cold inside... and I can't give it a 4.5... but, overall Milestones is one of my favorite restaurants ....

I will never come back here again.

First time I ever walked in, was seated in a decent amount of time.  Waited forever for the server to get us drinks.  Waited forever for him to bring them.  Waited forever to order our meal.  Dinner came out.  It was good, nothing spectacular.  However by the this time we were done and just wanted to leave.  After dinner, with our dirty plates still on the table we waited for them to be cleared and to get our bill.  We waited.   And waited.  And waited.  After 30 minutes we found a manager and asked her to get us our bill.  She said she would be right over with it, but ended up waiting 10 minutes before we went back up to the front and told her that we were leaving and that if she wanted our money we would have to see the bill first.

Second worst service I have ever received in my life.  The first time ever that I have seen an entire table leave nothing but a penny for the waiter.  Never going back.

I ate there on Friday and the Calamari, tasted like burned charcoal obviously the oil was burned and the calamari tasted like fish balls (the kind you get in WONTOWN soup) . I decided not to order anything deep fried so I ordered a burger, after 30 minutes I told them if they had not ordered it to go ahead and cancel the order. Within 1 min the mgr was there to tell me it would only be 3 minutes and that it would be free, another 15 minutes went by still no food. Finally after one hour of waiting my food came! RIDICULOUS! The only thing good about this experience was a free burger. Don't bother with Milestones. Total waste of time!

This is the type of place that is slightly better than your average Applebees. It's only looks really nice, but don't be fooled! I had the 4 cheese burger, which was pretty good, but the fries, the caesar salad, and the beer selection were mediocre at best. We had an excellent server, but the atmosphere was sadly loud and oddly busy (odd because the food is so bad!). I agree with another of the posts that the view of English Bay is lovely. But if you want good food, don't waste your money here.

I live in the area and normally like this place especially for bunch, but am I wrong for wanting my entree within a hour of ordering it? I was there this evening and ordered the salmon special and one hour and fifteen minutes went by with several waiter interventions and no food and no offer to help us out. Perhaps it was the time of night, eight PM ish but I think they need to step up the service. What a disaster.

Milestone's is a Vancouver standard that serves up some hearty meals and drinks with a bit more class than Earl's, but not as much swank as many other Vancouver hangouts.  I had pasta, and it was pretty good, if not remarkable.  I also had a tasty martini, but my friend was busily getting drunk on bellinis; don't ask me what's in them, but my dining partner was enjoying them very, very much!

Pretty average and nothing special. Dont have the burger if you are sensitive to grease.  I had the Californian Burger and it was a low grade "very grease" patty.  My wife had a seafood salad that she said was "not bad, but not good".  Later that night, my tummy felt like it had a coating of grease in it.  Would not go back and if I did, I would certainly NEVER order a burger again. Restraunt setting and decore is nice and has a prime location overlooking English Bay...but the food we had left much to be desired.
