Milestones is always amazing me. What should be everyday fair is usually kicked up a notch. Tonight's meal was a tasty Roasted Red Pepper & Tomato Bisque followed by an order of Pork Croquettes, this accompanied by a glass of Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc, started off a great dining experience. The main entree was a Cajun Shrimp Dianne accompanied by another glass of the Sauvignon Blanc. A decadent Strawberry Shortcake finished off the evening accompanied by a Baileys and Earl Grey tea.
This was another fine evening coupled with some great serving staff in the lounge. The next visit is highly anticipated!Listed in: @Mac_Daddy 5 Star list

I'm not really sure what it is about milestones but I can get into the menu. I mean I am not sure what this place is to be a fancy restaurant and burger place?? Who knows. The service is good here just not sure about the food. I had a chicken sandwich it was good but nothing I'll crave.

Food was pretty good, service uninterested and featured menu items not available. All in all, too expensive for a chain.
I had the steak frites which turned out to be very nice beef tenderloin with a good mushrooms wine sauce and frozen fries. At that price, they should have been fresh cut fries. Came with a generous helping of very bland Caesar salad.
Mom's Mediterranean chicken looked good, but the veg were mostly spinach. The son's asparagus were so overly peppered they were inedible, steak was good, mashed potatoes lumpy.
The son tried to order prime rib, but they were sold out. When he tried to order the strawberry shortcake (a featured item) we were told they had run out of vanilla whipped cream. How does a restaurant run out of whipped cream, could they not just whipped some more?
Our server could not remember three orders, did not know the menu very well and never refilled my water glass.
Also it was a lovely night, but the patio closed at 8. -

I was a bit unsure when we pulled up to Milestones for our date night. I was pleasantly surprised!
I ordered the steak, she ordered the prime-rib. We had the yam fries as an appetizer and the apple crumble for dessert. We found all the food really tasty.
This was our first time there, but we found our server friendly and would definitely go back. -

Milestones is forgettable for many reasons. The quality of the food does not warrant the prices; microwaved pastas & uninventive sandwiches/burgers, hit and miss staff, predicable decor. There is nothing special here. It's success rests solely on the location.
Another chain restaurant owned by Cara industries (Swiss Chalet, Harvey's, Kelsey's, Montana's Cookhouse and Milestone's Grill & Bar). -

Okay, it's a chain and the chef is located in Toronto or worse, Missisaugua. The food is consistent if predictable. There's the chicken dish, the Steak, the seafood pasta and the usual mix of heart threatening appetisers. The menu mix is pseudo-fine dining, upscale easily reproduced meals.
What makes it a four star for me is the burger with the American topping. No doubt about it, one heck of a fine burger. Large without being jaw-dislocatingly stupid. Fresh lettuce, onion, tomato, pickle and a slice of real old cheddar. Comes with a mountain of tasty shoestring fries or sub a salad in vain attempt to feel less suicidal. Good eating. -

Milestones is a good place to eat. I think it gets over looked in South Common being next to places like Joeys and OPM which are far more popular.
They have good food, not the best but still good. Their Grilled chicken pesto fettucini is really good and I would recommend it for sure. The Shanghai noodle stirfry and the red curry chicken bowl are also worth trying. I don't like the ambiance of the place. I think that's what keeps me from frequenting the place. It's kind of gloomy inside. Feels like a place to go to for that last drink before you shut it down for the night.
The service is good and the servers are friendly, not pushy. -

So the one and only Milestones had to be way the heck down in South Common. I've been to a few Milestones locations back in Toronto so I thought I'd check this location out.
When we arrived, for some reason right above us the vent was opened so a brush of cold air was right on top of my bald head. One of my coworkers but on a jacket. This was for a brief moment as the heat was turned on.
My coworkers had chicken stirfry and a burger each. I had the braised beef pappardelle with my friend's portion of mushrooms since he doesn't like them. This item was found on their seasonal menu (http://www.milestonesr...). I liked my dish a lot and so did they.
The only problem was that it took quite a long time to get to our table. It wasn't as if it was busy, but it could be busy by Edmonton standards. LOL.
I would go back but if I was in the area and my gf was in town otherwise it's a stretch. Hence because of the 2 knocks (location and service) it's 3 stars instead of 5. -

Meal was very nice, good quality and nice sized portions. Service was excellent.
A very good middle of the road restaurant. -

Milestone's is alright place to eat. I've definitely had worse.
I really like their Caesar salad. They have cipolline onions, shaved asiago and their signature Caesar dressing with cloves of garlic. It is fantastic! I love garlic! In fact, this is probably my favorite Caesar salad in the city - and I know my Caesar salads.
I've also had their Portobello Mushroom Chicken. It has sliced sautéed Portobello mushrooms, fresh basil, and roasted garlic. It was also very delicious.
I've tried a few other things on the menu and been very impressed though (hence 3 stars instead of 4). And the staff is not great. I've had one really good server there and the rest made me feel like a chore. That's not how it should be.
They have a few good dishes but they have a few bad dishes too. I guess you'll have to decide for yourself! -

I had a great time here! I ate here last night to celebrate my sister's birthday.
We ordered drinks and they came in pretty quickly. I decided to try a mojito for the first time. It seemed like it had a bit too much lime, but this was my first mojito, so I'm not exactly sure how it was supposed to taste.
I ordered a medium-well steak and it was...medium-well. You would be surprised as to how many restaurants don't get that right and under cook steaks. My steak tasted delicious and was well worth the price ($23). My family had the lamb and some other pasta/chicken dish; I had a bite of both and they tasted great.
The service was great. The waitress (Naomi, I think it was) was extremely friendly and made the night enjoyable. She even gave my sister a free dessert since it was her birthday!
Good time all 'round. -

Probably the best bang for your buck in this crummy town.
The quality here is always great for me. I usually compare the steaks at each restaurant I try to gauge the quality of food. I often order rare because it comes out medium to well done if I were to request medium rare. But not here. Spot on. Decor is ugggglyyy gaudy try hard. But the 3 red seal chefs in the kitchen make up for it.
Service is amazing! Never has a server turned the steak towards me when serving until I came here. Is the mashed potatoes the star of the show? or the delicious, perfectly cooked piece of meat that I ordered.
Proper serving. Proper food. Good price. Beats the common moxies and earls of the town.

Review from Adam S.
A chain restaurant owned by the same company that runs Harveys and Swiss Chalet. I started out liking this place because the menu was kind of unique for a restaurant of its kind. Trys to be trendy and upscale, which is kind of ironic when it is located in South Common. Staff are really hit and miss (maybe because it is a relatively new place?). Food quality is also highly variable. The last several experiences were progressively worse to the point I will no longer return. Take your chances here. Specific problems with the food: steak was raw (I mean purple) when I ordered medium-well, appetizer (bocconicini bread) was greasy to the point of being gross.

The food and service were both great! The server who served us had a genuine smile and seemed genuinely interested in what we needed to make our meal great! A definite visit back there is in order!
