The things I like about Migz:
    - conveniently located on Broadway that isn't some chain that's going to gouge you (earls cactus milestones moxys).
    - excellent drink specials and always an enticing food special.
    - extremely friendly staff.
    - it's a BBQ, so there is usually something i'm in the mood for on the menu.
    - there's TV's everywhere so there's very few seats where you don't have a good view of the game.
-cheap chicken wings...a necessity for a good pub!

The menu is quite extensive, and I think there's a few things on there that probably wouldn't be a good idea to order.  Probably a good idea to stick with the classic pub/bbq stuff.

I decided to re-review Migz after our last 2 experiences.

    1) We went to Migz a couple weeks ago with the groupon, ordered, ate a good meal (it was wing night, their wings are great).  At the end we presented our coupon and weren't allowed to use it because the items we ordered were on special.  The server blamed it on the fine print, but we read the fine print and there was nothing stating we couldn't order the specials... whatever.

    2) So we go back a few weeks later.  I have the ribs; which are great and convince my boyfriend to have the duck.  The duck was a horrible mush of bones and poorly butchered meat.  He almost choked on the bones and when we told the server, she took the food to the kitchen and came back and said - you can have the sausage or ribs; no sorry; no nothing.  It seemed she didn't believe us that the duck was so bad.  Eff that sh*t - when someone doesn't care about my business, I'm out - stay tuned for when I find a BBQ place better than Migz...

Migz has really become a force to be reckoned with on West Broadway!

I have always had a great experience here when it comes to both food and service.  My most recent meal was one of their "from the pit" items, the St. Louis Side Ribs with a side of creamy corn and hush puppies.  Absolutely awesome!  If you are a meat-eater like me you will love this place.  Menu prices are reasonable, and they also have great daily food and drink specials (wings, ribs, prawns, etc.) that are super cheap.  And with all their TV's around the room it's a great place to watch the game, as well as UFC.

Service has always been really friendly, you always feel welcome and very 'at home' when you take your seat.  All the servers I have had here are very cheeful and helpful, and service is always fast.

They have definitely grown beyond their original concept of southern style bbq house.  Although their food is still true to those roots, the atmosphere is much livelier than before, and on any given day you will find a great mix of people sharing the room.

    Migz rocks!

Good to watch the game with a group of rowdy friends!

I wouldn't go here on game night expecting a quiet meal.  Not going to happen.  But if you want a fun atmosphere and friendly wait staff to enjoy your game with, Migz is a good bet.

The nachos are usually pretty good, and their Migz Platter has some tasty treats, like jalapeno bites.  I haven't tried much else here, though.  Just the snacky foods.  And beer.  Lots of beer.

    The bathroom is nice.

They are happy to try and squeeze in your big group, and sponsor Urban Rec so you can get Fun Points here and team deals.
I'm between A-OK and I'm A Fan, so I'll round up for them to 4.

Migz is a no-nonsense place to go to watch the game (whatever game that happens to be). If the Canucks are playing, the game will be on, and loud. You might not get much service if they're rushing the net.  The staff is friendly and very, very casual. It's what you'd expect from a sports bar.

What makes Migz exceptional is the specials. You can get a tasty pulled-pork sandwich and fries (a way bigger portion than I expected) with a pint of Granville Island honey lager for $10. That's hard to beat, unless you're more of a Sunday football type. For $8 you can get a massive brunch that even an NFLer would have trouble finishing.

Dudes are usually sold on the place after hearing about sports with cheap beer and BBQ. Girls should know that the place is nicely painted with some interesting photography on the walls, the bathrooms smell good inside and it's a great place to watch men in their natural environment. Go Lions!

It's in a fun neighbourhood (Kits) and caters to the UBC crowd, but not exclusively -- older patrons won't feel out of place. But if there's no game on, you'll probably be stuck with Top 40 playing equally loud.

Great atmosphere. Anytime I've been here the staff has been great. They even challenged our group to a boat race, which we won. The food has always been really tasty for pub food and I've never had a mix up with an order, food or drink. It's always a great place to go, even if there are a few of the pretentious UBC students there. There is plenty of room to sit and hang out and the staff is very likeable.

I luv this quiet part of W. Broadway. We came out this way simply because I happen to know that the street trees along here are mature enough to provide the right amount of shade for a hot day.
Migz menu is basic, but varied enough. Small-ish Burgers and sammi's aren't overpriced.
Beer is a deal and you can sit outside and people watch.
Locals know this is a good spot that will seldom be overcrowded or too loud.

Serving brunch specials is an added attraction.

One less star though, the deep fryer needs an oil change. My fries tasted Fishy  =:O [

Broadway's got some good spots for eats but Migz is not one of them.  Good food and drink specials and friendly staff but mundane decor and poor layout.  The food is low-level and the atmosphere can be pretty dull.  I've definitely experienced better for a low-budget sports bar.

If you're planning on just getting drunk for cheap and want some 39 cent ribs to go with your pints or pitchers on a Thursday night, you should definitely give Migz a shot.  Otherwise, watch the game at home with your six-pack.

    Love Migz!

One of my favourite places to go on Broadway for sure. The food is surprisingly delicious for a pub, and really great drink deals.

Servers are really casual and friendly, actually take the time to chat and make sure we're having a good experience.

I would definitely recommend checking it out, I'll be back there for the next game for sure.
