Review from Mike S.
Toronto, ON
If there is one thing that we as Canadians don't do very well (there is more than one but none of the others make sense in the review) it's pastry. This isn't something we should get particularly down on ourselves about because lots of countries can't make very good pastries, but the French aren't one of them. I can remember the first time I ate a chocolate croissant from Michel's. I knew full well that the particular pastry I was eating contained probably more fat and calories than I should eat in two days and yet as soon as I was finished I had a second. This is how good the pastries are at Michel's. I would highly recommend this shop for their deserts; they are worth the extra wobble in your step because they are truly decadent. When you do go, and I sincerely hope you do ask for the freshest selections because they are by far the best and you will get the full experience.

Review from Lilliane G.

I stop in here at least twice a month for breakfast. There are so many places to grab breakfast in the underground and this spot invariably ends up in the rotation.
My usual is the breakfast croissantwich - egg, cheese, ham, lettuce and tomato on a toasted croissant. It's actually quite tasty and they have a good selection of toppings to finish off your sandwich with. Of course, you can have your sandwich on a bagel, toast, whatever...I just prefer the buttery goodness of the croissant.
They also have plenty of pastries - muffins, cookies, croissants...the usual.
Breakfast, however, is not their only offering...they have soups and other lunch fare on their menu, though truthfully, I've only ever had breakfast here.
The good is good, but it's by no means spectacular, plus the service is S-U-P-E-R S-L-O-W...so if you're in a rush...I wouldn't recommend you visit this spot. Their prices are relatively cheap, but you can find cheaper in the underground.
The place is clean, and they have plenty of seating, should you decide to eat in.Listed in: 30-Day Yelp Challenge,…

Review from Kelly O.
The pastries here ARE delicious. I particularly like the apple-cheese danish, as well as the cheese stick. Crispy, crumbly, and buttery. For a chain, they really are quite good. Their croissants are good too...buttery and flaky, but perhaps a bit crunchier than I would like. The original is good, but the cheese croissant is very good. Almond croissant is just so-so. I am not a fan of the type of almond paste they use in the filling, but I'd still eat it!
