I can`t really say much about Metro Dental that others haven`t already said. From reception, to the dental hygienist to my dentist, Dr. K, I was made to feel extremely comfortable. The receptionist handled my insurance claims so everything was instant. The dental hygienist gave me recommendations on more comfortable tongue rings (most dentist just tell me to take it out so it was nice to have an alternative rather than judgment). Dr. K takes her time to make sure you understand everything she is doing; I like that she`ll let you know exactly how something is going to feel. Which alleviates anxiety when my eyes closed and foreign objects are going into my mouth...which only happens at the dentist. I swear!

I was thoroughly impressed with everything about Metro Dental. The service was exceptional and I the office was beautiful. My dentist, Dr. Kraus, was extremely professional and had an amazing attitude and level of care that definitely made my visit enjoyable and relaxing! I would highly recommend Metro Dental to anyone and everyone!

I was looking for a dentist close to work after dealing with the same guy since 1993 - decided to check out Metropolitan Dental based on the excellent yelp ratings.
I must say, I was very impressed with this place. The office is absolutely gorgeous, the staff are friendly and Dr. P is a funny guy. I had Eva the hygenist for the cleaning - she was funny too and didn't put me in too much pain. Dr P was direct and explained everything throughly.
Only thing I didn't like is that they wouldn't process the co-insurance payment on my behalf - my last dentist did this - so that is a bit of a nuisance.
Overall, good experience and I'll be back... -

It had been 7+ years since my last dental check-up, so it was with some trepidation that I enter Metropolitan Dental (MD). Located on the lower level of MaRS next to the food court, I'll be honest that I chose this dentist primarily because it's next to my office, and I pass by it often on my way to lunch. Having experienced MD, however, I would easily recommend this dentist to friends and family.
MaRS is a stunning building, and MD continues the trend within its deceptively large space. The facility is classy, bright, clean, and looks brand new. Impressively, the music selection playing in the background is pretty good; no easy rock here, I definitely heard some MGMT on rotation. The dental chairs, with their soothing back massage, nearly lulled me into an afternoon nap (if, you know, it weren't for the tooth work going on.)
Dr. Andrew Plaitis is a young, professional dentist. I felt he was thorough and attentive during my complete exam, and he was easy to talk to. I didn't feel at any time that he was trying to sell me anything, and he was cool with the fact that I hadn't been to the dentist in years. (He also said I had great teeth, despite my lack of dental attention, so perhaps I'm biased. Whatever, flattery works.)
My hygienist for the cleaning was Laurie, and she was friendly, professional, and a pleasure to interact with. Her work was careful and thorough, and she made sure throughout that I was comfortable. I was given the option to schedule my next cleaning with Laurie, so I'll be seeing her again in a few months.
Ruth at reception is great, and will happily submit insurance claims electronically. Having my own dental insurance is new to me, and they're good at working with you, and with what you've got. Also, they do take Amex, despite their website saying otherwise.

Dr. Platis is a great dentist and for the first time in my life, I go on a regular basis for check-ups and cleanings. The reception staff are especially good. Very friendly and they always remember me. The waiting room plays Cirque du Soleil. He's thorough and non-judgmental.
Plus, he's a young dentist in a great location. If you need a dentist, check him out. -

Great location, beautiful office, friendly staff and Dr. Platis is awesome. He is professional, caring, maticulous, and to top it off he has a great personality and sense of humor. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a dentist.

this is a great office. the staff is real friendly. the office is modern and nice. and the doctor is easy going and good at explaining everything. I really enjoy going here for my dental care. I don't get the feeling of it being a high pressure sales driven office like others can be. If your looking for a downtown dentist I highly recommend this one.
