Grab up. Its free, and a colourful blend of both local and large-scale news. This paper has got some integrity in its journalistic flare, and its all the mainstream dish you need without a price-tag.

Lindsey Lohan's legal woes graced the cover of the most recent issue, although light-hearted celebrity buzz is just a piece of the pie. Thorough local discussion, international queries, and pretty much all one may come to expect from an everyday newspaper, is presented in Metro News.

Pedestrians can find it scattered in bins throughout the city, as well as friendly folks shelling it out on the streets. Metro is a well fused news that covers a lot of ground but keeps it cohesive. Good read for those on the run.

I recently discovered the Metro News Paper. This is a great free paper.
You will find it located all over , some times it is in a stand on its own, this would be outside in a green bin. When inside it is located with the other free magazines.

It is a great paper, covering international news but focusing a lot of our own city. It is a very easy read and it about half the size of a regular paper. I look for the Metro now when I am around town.

Be sure the get one early, they tend to fly off the racks quick.

I love free newspapers. And I especially love free newspapers that actually have good quality news in them! And the Metro does. Its a relatively young paper in comparison to most in the city, but its definitely always worth a read. They have local and national news all geared towards news items that affect us in Halifax.

What I also love about the Metro is that I can choose not to pick it up, but get it handed to me. In the morning, while you are walking or running to work, there are employees on the streets handing out copies of the Metro to the general public. One day I was running to work and a "Metro employee" saw me coming and saw that I was going to try and snag a paper off of him while keeping my running speed. He held it out like one of those sticks or bars you hand another runner in your team in a race. After a successful catch, I ran to work and arrived on time. That was a lot of fun.

The Metro is simply worth reading and picking up. And since its free, honestly, what have you got to lose. You can pretty much pick it up anywhere downtown Halifax. Their Writer's are good, concise and deliver strong, valuable content.

I can honestly say that I truly appreciate the Metro News. I mean what's not to like about a free, daily newspaper. It's compact size makes for easy reading on the bus or at the kitchen table, and you can literally pick one up anywhere, whether it's from one of the many newsstand boxes throughout the HRM or from a street distributor.

In comparison to a subscription newspaper, Metro offers significantly less news coverage and does not include an index, but is great for seeing the news at a glance.
