Yes! They serve Harp Lager again! I am partial to Irish Pubs since my Dad owned one when he was here on Earth with us. So to find an authentic Irish Pub so close to home was a blessing for me!
Our visit last night was as wonderful as always but then also sad because, it seems, since downtown Anderson changed their smoking laws there were only about 1/2 the patrons there than ususal.
When you visit you must try the Mini Mutton Bridies, a very simple mutton, ground lamb, pastry in which the taste is out of this world! It is served along side a little cup of ranch. Along with all the usual tastes of Ireland there are many other choices of American pub fare.
I love the atmosphere, dark and cozy, yet last night the lights were left on a little too brightly from what I'm used to. Makes no difference on whether I will visit again though! Cheers! -

Listen, ignore my 3 stars. You're going to go because the prices are great and the things they do well they do oh so well. You're going to go for brunch, because you like Bloody Marys and Mimosas (You get 2 complimentary with brunch.)
Oh yeah. The Bloody Mary bar amaze balls. There was bacon and sausage and shrimp and pickles and horseradish, and worcester, and sour kraut, and tomatoes, and olives, and celery, and cucumber, and and and.... I don't remember it all. But it was perfect, because *I* made it perfect. I especially liked the sausage I put in it. I never thought of that before, but I WILL NOW.
I was very excited to have onion soup because I had heard they had the recipe from the now gone Jax (because OMG that was amazing) but it was not even mediocre. The onions in it were practically raw and the broth was not nearly rich enough.
My eggs were okay but the homefries were boring. The scones weren't as good as they looked. The food timing was terrible, entrees came out with appetizers.
BUT... oh the Bloody Marys. Worth the trip. Besides, maybe I just made the wrong choices.Listed in: Y'all Come Back Now, Y'here?!?

I went back on a weekend night. They had a one man band that actually knew how to play and sing. We ate snacks and drank beer. The final tab was very reasonable for the amount of time and live entertainment. It's pretty laid back and not so load you can't talk. That was much appreciated.

We have been here several times and tried several menu items. The Irish items are mostly OK but the corned beef and cabbage was well below par. We have gravitated to ordering their fish and chips or their shrimp and chips, both of which are very good. On this visit the service was particularly good and that made the experience all the more enjoyable. The waiter is well on his way to a more upscale restaurant if that's what he is interested in.

On a recent trip to SC, my travel group insisted that we go here for brunch. I am glad we did as it was very tasty and the best part is make your own Bloody Mary. I know, you are thinking "How on earth do you make your own?" Well, they bring you a glass of vodka and you go to a table with all kinds of toppings; bacon, horseradish, pickles, celery, tomato, sausage, olives and so on. This allows you to make the ultimate Bloody Mary to your liking and it is a great idea!
The food was pretty good too. I had the Croque Monsieur which was topped with cinnamon apples which was a great addition to the ham and cheese sandwhich! The beer cheese soup was really good as well.
The overall establishment looked like it would be fun to come to at night, as there was a stage for entertainment. -

I spent the week with my grandfather in Iva and ate at McGee's twice. The first time I went for lunch and has the shrimp and chips. The portion was huge and the shrimp was fried to perfection. The second time I went was for the mystery dinner.
For $30 a person you get a 4 course dinner, a drink and the mystery murder show. It's great for groups and adults of all ages. The more people you bring the better. -

Awesome pub and fabulous food!
Live music, hot and delicious foods, great service.
Had the mini mutton bite things... ground lamb encased in a flaky blanket. Delicious! They arrived with a curry ranch sauce, which was the perfect accompaniment.
R enjoyed his lamb chili-- a bowl with the "works" that came with soda bread. The soda bread was "alright." I tried a few bites of the soda bread-- the thickness was about 2 cm with the perfect consistency and slightly sweet.
M loved the beer cheese soup. She says "go for the bowl!" I had a spoonful and it was phenomenal. Shepherd's pie was also delicious. The spices were spot-on.
I had the fish and chips. Delicious! I usually feel guilty eating cod, but this dish nearly wiped out remembrance of the endangered status. Two gi-normous pieces of perfectly battered cod with the perfect ratio of batter and fish-- crunchy with a slight bite. mmm. The fries were medium cut-- nothing outstanding. The cole slaw and tartar sauce were too sweet. The fish was awesome-- so awesome that it negated the cole slaw and tartar sauce.
The atmosphere is great-- and we thoroughly enjoyed the live music.
I will definitely return ... tomorrow night if I could. -

Very nice pretty authentic Irish Pub. I had the Corned Beef and Cabbage and a house salad with house dressing. Excellent meal and incredible service! I'll be going back!

I would give this quaint, not so little, pub 5 stars, but, I have not had dinner there yet so will edit my review as soon as I do. Since I was thrilled with the food @ Jax New Orleans Bistro I simply had to try their sister restaurant McGee's. We had lunch is was very good. My friend had the fish and said it was some of the best she has had in a while. I look forward to coming in the evening to have the whole experience. Just need to nudge my friend into taking the trip as it is in another county, but, I feel well worth the trip.

MacGee's has one of the better beer selections in town. We especially like that it is a pleaseant blend of bar and resturant. The food is better than average. This is a great place to hang out with family and friends! Live music and trivia at night
