    Reviewing a lookup restaurant, c'mon I can't be serious. Well, actually I am.

    First, what the heck is a lookup restaurant? This is the type of restaurant that when you walk in, you have to stand in line and look up to see the menu.

    Now, back to McDonalds. This isn'tnecessarily specific to this location, it is a one size fits all kind of comment.

    They have really decent coffee! Now there are a lot of coffee snobs out there who won't agree, but if all you want is a decent cup of coffee and maybe a breakfast sandwich to go with it, McDonalds should be a place to consider.

    I am all for the coffee house, but don't overlook some of our other slightly less obvious options.

    I must admit I only come to McDonald's for their $1 any sized iced coffee (caramel) all summer long and the occasional egg mcmuffin.  I'm pretty thrifty when it comes to McD and only come when I have a coupon.

    The reason I'm taking the time to review this location is because they are always pleasant and efficient. On numerous occasions when I have come through the drive thru and used a coupon the lady behind the till has cheered, "woo hoo!" and they have let me keep my coupon to be reused on several occasions.

    This place is near my home, so my family has been patronizing this location for years.

    We've finally given up on them!! The problems have gotten pretty bad. Last week they double charged our debit card.  The girl who did the transaction knew something messed up and she claimed she canceled the first transaction, but she didn't. We had to make an extra trip back with the bank records and our receipt to have a manager correct it.

    Coffee through the drive through has been bad on many occasions. It is so weak it taste like hot water, not coffee. One time I took it in and the manager said they must have 'forgot' to put new coffee in when brewing (using old grounds instead) and the coffee he got out of the urn used for inside service was ok. The weak coffee has been given to me so many times through the drive through that it couldn't be an accident - I think they are too cheap to brew real coffee for the drive through, knowing everyone will be long gone before they taste it.

    Oh - and I can't tell you how many times we've not gotten sausage in our hotcakes and sausage. Just hotcakes.

    There is another McDonalds just north on St. Albert trail a couple of kilometres that doesn't have these problems.
