I stayed at the Mayfield Inn & Suites once, and it was a really good experience. It's a pricier hotel, kind of like the Sutton, except the Mayfield has newer and more modern-looking rooms. I also think you can get a much bigger room at the Mayfield for less than it would cost at the Sutton. The room I stayed in was very nice. It had a living room with a sliding door that connected to the bedroom. I found the room to be very clean and comfortable.

The room came with a free breakfast, so in the morning, I headed down to the restaurant that's located in the lobby. To my surprise, it ended up being a breakfast buffet. It was so good, and there was a chef that would make up an omelet of your choice. I'm a bacon lover, so I piled a whole bunch of bacon on my plate, and I didn't care who noticed. It was probably the best breakfast I've ever had. I still can't believe it was free.

I stayed here for the Cubamemucho Cuban Salsa Congress, and it was awesome....but this hotel...not so much.

It's in a ghetto part of Edmonton (well, it does have a strip club and liquor store across the street, and is a really "cool" industrial part of Edmonton).

This hotel has just seen better times.  I'm sure back in the '70s this place was THE  place to go to, but now?  Yeah, it's just a bit dated and a time machine to an older time.  There's no wifi (didn't they have wifi in the '70s?!?!).  The hot tub is actually in a gym which is attached to the hotel....ummm...no thanks.

They did have a recycling bin in our room (but we ended up filling it with ice to keep our drinks cool...you guessed it---no fridge).

Would give this about 2.5-stars.  With that said, I'll be back next year for Cubamemucho.

Not so high end really. Restaurant buffet was bad - cold food, bad taste to most stuff; the mash potatoes were SPICEY. saw 2 hookers leaving when i arrived: not unexpected considering there is a strip club next door. Many nice hotels around whyte or downtown - why come here (unless for the hookers)?
