Mayfair is = bar none = the best periodical store in the lower mainland. It's got the most comprehensive collection of magazines and newspapers possible.
There have been rare occasions when I've asked for something that they don't have - and the staff is always surprised that it ISN'T there...Listed in: Books

If the magazine industry is a dinosaur who's time has come, you'd never know it by perusing the many shelves at Mayfair News. Magazines on virtually any topic, no matter how obscure, can be found here.
I go for the art mags. Here, you can find, ArtForum, ArtNews, Canadian Art - the usual suspects at magazine stands - but also great, lesser known magazines such as C Magazine, Flash Art and one that I discovered there and now love, Art Lies.
They also have a great literary section that includes a lot of art/text hybrids such as Public, Canteen and Matrix - well worth a thorough investigation.
Not just for literary types, Mayfair offers plenty for the sport enthusiast with magaziness in sports I didn't even know existed. Hikers, boaters and climbers will be happy to find a huge selection of outdoor mags, and there are fashion mags to match every taste.
And porn. Yes, porn...and plenty of it! Whether you drool for chicks or dudes, butts or boobs, vanilla or fetish, they've got your number.
In short, there is something for everyone to enjoy at Mayfair News - a must for all magazine lovers. -

When I recieve a parcel I need to make my way to Mayfair News postal outlet to retrive it. The line up is usually painful long and slow as they have only one person manning it most of the time, the service is always great!
They have the best selection of magazines in the city as well..you wouldn't expect that this would be a the hot spot for obscure fashion magazines...and wicked asortment of dirty magazines..so I've been told.... -

The very best selection of magazines in Vancouver. I used to work near here and it was very dangerous to go in as I'd always end up with several magazines I really didn't need. They have foreign language issues and every subject you can think of, as well as newspapers from all over. The location is right near Granville and Broadway, so if you're in the area you shouldn't miss out. Large selections of art, fashion, travel, etc....I could go on and on.

I love this store for its selection of newspapers and magazines from around the world and in many languages. If you are looking for Spanish Vogue, for example, or an Italian fashion magazine, there's a good chance that this place will have it. They have, of course, the New York Times alongside the Globe and most other national and international papers of repute. And, you can also use this place as your post office and to buy bus tickets. Oh, and I've never been asked to stop reading and buy!
