On my ongoing quest for quick, convenient, cheap (under $20) and ideally non-disfiguring options for tending to my mop of hair, I came across May and John's Beauty Salon.
There were two stylists on the job when we walked in, a really cute older couple, we presumed to be the eponymous May and John themselves, who, according to my friend, were wearing matching kicks and all.
My friend got her bangs trimmed, which came in at a very wallet-friendly fiver, with no extra HST, and my quickie trim came in at $12, which definitely hit the mark in terms of budget.
I appreciated John (whether or not that's actually him is one thing, but for convenience, I'mma use that name) and his attention to detail with the cut, constantly asking to make sure everything was okay - very important, as I wear glasses and am forced to shed them for haircuts, which are always risky, sometimes tense situations...
All-in-all, friendly, cheap, and attentive service, with neither drama nor hair-related regrets.
