Maurice Nightclub is a pretty convenient place in the Quebec City winter as you can access a few other areas in the complex internally including Charlotte Ultralounge, Voo Doo Supperclub and a cigar lounge. Conveniently (and comfortably), there is an indoor line for access, so we saw a lot of hardy locals leave their coats in their cars and brave the elements in t-shirts and little strapless dresses.
The scene inside is high energy with a lot of latin beats and salsa steps mixed in. There was a fair diversity in ages, but most of the club-goers looked to be in the 18-35 range. 80% of the crowd was dancing, and the attire ranged from jeans and tank tops to sequined dresses for the ladies. For the gents, there was a mix of ed hardy and classic dark button downs and jeans.
PARTING THOUGHT: Definitely a good choice if you are in the mood to dance. A bit of a line later in the evening, so plan/pre-game accordingly... -

So this club was ok. Nothing really special. The coat check girl was absolutely beautiful.
The thing that I didn't like however was that I took my sweater off and within 2 minutes the security team came to me and forced mgr to check in my sweater. I mean come on, I'm dancing, I get a little warm, I just wanted to remove my sweater to cool off and then put it back on after I was comfortable. I wouldn't go back to this place however its not a bad place.
A bit about the location, two dance floors and a little bar area. The bar area is behind a set of double doors and on the same level is the main dance floor. About 3,000 square feet is the room size, ceilings about 14 feet so should be good for keeping a nice temperature and the ambient noise down. Upstairs is a very nice lounge with some great lounge seating. No lounge music though so I was a bit turned off.
Around 11:30 this place gets jam packed so plan to arrive around 10PM if you dont want to hassle with lines or coat check lines.
