Drinks great, food great, service also was great!
Loved the look and vibe. We always try to visit the "local" places and we were pleasantly surprised.
So much to choose from we've decided we have to go back on our next trip to try the rest of the menu. -

We ate here outside while the recent Tour de LaFrance criteriums were in town. We wanted to watch the action and sit outside in lovely downtown Anderson. This place offered a good variety of burgers, sandwiches, wraps and salads.
I got the island Grill salad which was a lovely mix of tangy (borderline spicy) chicken in a lovely sauce with mandarin orange salsa on top of a bed of tortilla chips with romaine. It was an absolutely great salads, and I usually like my salads at home better than any I eat out, so I was really impressed, especially for a small town. Yum.
My husband got the Hawaii five-o chicken sandwich with grilled pineapple and was very satisfied with his. The chicken on both of ours was quite tender.
The service was attentive and friendly. A great value and a great find. -

I went here a few weekends ago with my hubby and in-laws. My sis-in-law lives in Anderson, but has never been here, and we decided to give it a try. I ordered a sampler appetizer platter that came w/ onion rings, fried pickles, chicken tenders, fried ravioli and corn fritter things. Everything was really good!
My hubby and brother-in-law both had burgers, go figure! My BIL actually said that it's one of the best burgers he's ever had! My SIL had a steak sandwich and she really enjoyed it.
I'm going back to see my SIL this weekend, and we may have to hit up Matty's again! I'd love to try some other stuff on their menu! -

We hear about Matty's a lot in local advertiments but they have failed to impress both time we have visited. The food is OK nothing very special and the burgers are way to hyped to be any good. during the fall with the garage doors open out front this could be a cool place but there are better options now downtown. Hope they choose to step up to the plate as the competition downtown Anderson for your dinning dollars is getting very competitive.

Great food. Great atmosphere.
Tuesday night is burger night, and the burgers (one of the best items on the menu) are half price. It's a great deal, but you'll need to get their early or eat late. It's usually packed.
My only complaint is that it's a very loud restaurant. -

Matty's is in downtown Anderson, very close to the square and the main court house. You need to try Matty's, even if you've got no reason to go downtown...it is the reason to go!! 'Cause you don't need an appointment to "hold court" at Matty's! It's a real neat place; the front doors are large garage doors that open all the way up...and let me tell you on a hot southern evening you're going to wanna a place that the doors open ALL the way! They have a great selection of burgers, original toppings but also simple burgers cooked to perfection. They have beer, I highly suggest a Bluemoon and the burger. My mom really likes the almost Ruben...instead of sauerkraut they put coleslaw on it...like a Southern-style Ruben - scrumptious!
The owners are always on-hand and all the wait staff are good kind folks. And if it's your birthday (and it's always somebody's) the owner plays you a round of Happy Birthday on his Trombone and the whole dining room sings...can really make a birthday good clean fun! They have seating on the sidewalk and it is bar none the best place to go with the kids...they can yell and scream and it's just all a part of the excitement of an evening out at Matty's. You just gotta give it a try!
I can hardly believe that the ONLY review of Matty's is from someone in San Francisco...what is wrong with you people...review this great hangout! -

Matty's is GREAT! Friendly staff, great menu, and great atmosphere with super prices. I got the hot brown which was excellent! I will definitely recommend this place for everyone!

This place is awesome. Fun atmosphere, and great service. good food too. If Avis is your server then your in for a real treat.
