Unless you read an endorsement for this tiny shop on a website that connects people with great local businesses (like, um, I dunno ... Yelp), you might never come across it. Located on Jones Avenue just south of Gerrard in a sort of non-neighbourhood (kinda Leslieville, kinda not), this shop is compact and crammed with goodies collected by the owner over the years.
It's a bit overwhelming but if you look hard (or better yet, just ask) you'll definitely find something. He also makes custom pieces from salvaged wood and materials. History
Established in 2005
"Matter of Time" itself was birthed in 2005 from parent company "Steve Reynolds' Second-Hand Store," which had a glorious run on Queen Street from 1996 to 2003. Steve himself entered the second-hand retail industry in the late 1970s, and has continued to share his joy for vintage ever since.
Meet the Business Owner: Steve R.
Steve has been in the vintage retail industry since 1979. With a couple of stores under his belt, he thought it was a Matter of Time until he *really* put his knowledge and experience to proper use.
He has provided charitable donations to schools, as well as worked closely with film productions, providing wonderful stock and materials so as to promote Toronto and new artists.
Steve has a story for everything, and an extensive list of resources available. No matter what you may be looking for, he can find it, no doubt!
