I feel like I have never had a regular dentist. I will go see one when I know I need my teeth cleaned and they will make me feel like I'm going to die if I don't spend $40000 on fixing stuff and then I'll avoid them. It's a vicious cycle.

Someone in my neighborhood recommended Dr. Bourgeuis' office and I hope I never have to see another dentist again. Not only is it close to my house, but it has good hours (including Saturday) and the staff are so polite.

I see Dr. Walden, as opposed to Dr. Bourgeois who I think may actually be retired, but don't quote me on that. She is extremely friendly and makes me feel very comfortable. She has never pressured me into getting additional work done and tells very funny and sweet stories while I'm there. I've had one hygienist who wasn't the most gentle but the hilarious receptionists make up for it. I actually look forward to getting a call from them. They just started a new online appointment confirmation system that is very helpful, but this means I might get fewer calls.

Appointments are easy to get but Saturday's fill up early. Sometimes you wait a bit for your appointment to start, but never more than 15 minutes. They put through insurance for you which is awesome because I can never remember to claim things myself.

I recommend this place to anyone. It's very close to the Delaware entrance to Ossington station if you aren't in the 'hood. No excuses, get those teeth cleaned!

I am sure nobody likes to go to the dentist.
    Not really.

For me it goes a step further though.
I have a lot more anxiety before a dentist visit than I had before giving birth to our son.
I know it's stupid, but I have had my share of butchers in the past (Hello Germany!), so I can't help it.

Now 2 weeks ago, I lost a filling.
I used to go the Humbervalley Dental Centre near Kipling/Finch, but without a car it's a mission and a half to get there.
So I was looking for a new dentist closer by.

Of course, I checked here first.
Read the positive reviews about Dr. Bourgeois.
And then I asked my friend Google.
And read a dozen more encouraging statements from other patients.
So I made an appointment and I am happy to report that I can toot the "Dr. B" horn now as well.
(That's how they call him in his office.)

He is a nice guy and very understanding.
I told him that I was nervous and he did his best to make the procedure as painless and efficient as possible.
I felt well cared for as he was explaining every step without belittling me.
He mentioned further options, but didn't try to pressure me into getting additional or more expensive treatments.
(Who has the money for a crown anyways?)
    I really appreciate that.

I also have only good things to say about the rest of his staff.
The receptionist as well as the dental hygienist were both friendly.

All in all, it was pretty quick too.
My appointment was on a Tuesday afternoon at 3pm and I was in and out of this dental office in less than 1 hour.

    The verdict:
I still don't like going to the dentist.
But if I have to see one, I will make an appointment with Dr. B.

I saw Dr. Walden after reading another review here on Yelp. I move to this neighbourhood last year and was looking to see a dentist in the area. This clinic made a great first impression. They were all very friendly and knowledgeable. They took the time to ask questions and the receptionists did a great job of getting my health plan information to make sure that I understood what was covered and what wasn't. As a bonus, they're open Saturdays too!
