Honestly, I don't know what it is about fabric stores that I love so much - I don't even know how to sew.
But I did go here in an attempt to find some fabric for a headboard I was going to make.
Marshall's has a huge selection of fabrics and at really good prices. The people are not as helpful as those at fabricland, but that is not an essential thing for me - chances are, people who are shopping here know what they are looking for and if not, they will ask for help.
The fabrics seem to all be of good quality and I enjoyed browsing through the store. If I ever learn to sew - this is where I will buy my fabrics. -

I only go here when I have to, it's so far from home.
The selection is decent, but I find the store to be a bit haphazard. I scraped my hand pretty good on one of their displays yesterday. Giving it a closer look, it really wouldn't be the best display for the sales floor.
The prices are good, comparable to Fabricland (but no membership needed!). They do their best to organize their fabrics by type, which is helpful. I like the fact that they have a medium-large selection of swimwear/dance fabric.
In the past I haven't found the customer service to be the best. I also don't think they do enough to make their employees stand out. Most of them look like they could be customers.
