The staff made my stay exceptional. The hostess/server in the restaurant (I never caught her name) was top notch, and made each complimentary breakfast that much better. In addition to freshly cut fruit, wide array of hot and cold items alike, including fresh waffles, you could choose any way to have your eggs cooked; omelet with anything you could think of, poached eggs, etc. Best continental breakfast I've ever had, and it came complimentary with our stay! What could be better?

The service here was top notch. Service goes a long way. The girls at the front desk was helpful at all time. They accommodated everything. Thanks for taking care of my faxes.

OK -- I'm a sucker for Marriott hotels. I admit it. That being said, I travel a lot and stay in a lot of them, and this is the best of the best. Nice rooms, great staff and service, and one of North America's prettiest locations. What's not to love?

Technically my review is 3.5 stars (can we finally get half stars please?), but I followed rules of mathematics.

You can't beat the location, right behind the Empress, a block from the water, and within walking distance to tons of restaurants, shopping, etc. The rooms are pretty basic and small, but do the job for a single traveller or a couple. Beds are mediocre, definitely not the Westin heavenly bed, but not terrible either. Bathrooms are only large enough for 1 person at a time.

Room service (the menu is small) and breakfast options were all very tasty. You can order your breakfast the night before, hang order on the door to have it delivered at your specified time frame in the am - very nice option. I am a huge fan of late night or all night items and these guys only had 3 :-(

This hotel is not very big, yet they had a very nice fitness center and a pretty good size indoor pool with jacuzzi and a wet sauna which is open till 11 pm.

The service was extremely accommodating. Staff is patient, genuinely nice and helpful with any questions or recommendations.

    I would stay here again.

Why is it that Marriotts can be so modern on the outside and so frumoy on the inside?  That aside, this is a comfortable and clean hotel.  The beds are comfortable, but not like those in Starwood's hotels.  The location is very good, a short walk from the inner harbor.  The free wifi was fairly fast.  The concierge was knowledgeable and friendly.

A cleaning rag left in the shower by housekeeping was disposed of quickly and in a friendly manner.  We did not try the food options.  Loved the 9th floor corner balcony with magnificent views of the Olympic peninsula in Washington, especially at dusk.

I would stay here if visiting Victoria again.

This is a great place to stay in Victoria. It's located close to the harbor area & the downtown area so it's an easy place to explore from. The rooms are more luxurious than the average Marriott. I would recommend getting a room away from the elevator - the sound proofing of the room sides is good (didn't hear our neighbors at all) but the door sound proofing doesn't exist (could hear the conversations of people waiting for the elevator like they were in our room). The view improves dramatically as you ascend floors, so try to get a room on a high floor.

The concierge lounge breakfast is ok - there are only two hot dishes (dry scrambled eggs & a breakfast meat), fresh fruit (good fruits like pineapple & blueberry), and a small selection of pastries & bread. The whole wheat bread is super good - super thick, fresh, and very whole grainy. The view from the lounge is fantastic. If you have Platinum status, you can get complimentary wine & cheese delivered to your room (pick that over the points!).

This is a long overdue review.  I just remembered since i just did a review for another Marriot hotel.  Marriot's customer service has not let us down before.  We had a nice corner room with balcony and a great view, free chocolates every night as part of the down service and our request for a crib for our child was also accommodated.

I found out that I left my portable gps navigator at the hotel when we got back home in California.  I was so upset as this was when TomTom's was still about $800 per unit.  We called the hotel and sure enough, it was still at the drawer where I last saw it.  They shipped it asap to our home in California.

Kudos. Perhaps a bit of a 'hidden' gem at/near Victoria Inner Harbor. Here's why were made to feel most comfortable and appreciative:

+1. Our trip inward to Victoria was by car and ferry. A long day for us....but we were satiated upon arrival. The front-store staff was most inviting, supportive and attentive to getting us unloaded and check-in was a breeze. Additional thanks and consideration was most appreciated - an upgrade to a 14th floor view room and complimentary self-parking (underground) which saved us 15.00 CDN per night. Thank you, Marriott!

+1: A cozy lobby bar with reasonable prices and a very attentive bartender. We were ready to move on to a city-dining-spot after several beverages by all.

+1: Indoor pool, fitness room (modest), steam room, jacuzzi, showers and ample towels. We truly appreciated this each afternoon or everning. "Open 24/7!".

+1: Kitty-corner to The Empress; easy walking distance to Wharf Street and the Inner-Harbor.

+1: Rooms (our room) was a 'traditional' Marriott lay-out, nicely sized, free wi-fi (we asked, the front staff 'gave')....and HIGH SPEED, as I write. Nicely sized bathroom (marble countertops and full shower), coffee makers, iron and ironing board, bathrobes and slippers (wow), small chill box (not a reefer).....only thing lacking (but no deductions) is no flat-screen tv viewing (at least in our room).

Oops, that's +5.....well....we very much enjoyed all of the above. Hopefully you will, as well.

We booked two rooms here through Priceline. I think the price ended up being about $20 cheaper for each room. This hotel is in a great location with all the downtown attractions within easy walking distance. My favorite part about this place were the ultra comfy beds. After staying at my parent's and in-laws on lumpy beds and air mattresses for a few days I was in need of a really good sleep. The bathroom is also very nice. The staff was friendly and accomodating, especially the doorman.

If you stay here check out the bar as well. I travel frequently for work and fun and have become a bit of a connoisseur of hotel bars. This one is great - nice soft lighting and classic furnishings. We had a couple of delicious martinis before venturing out to dinner and the bartender gave us a great recommendation for the restaurant..

This is a very nice, relatively new Marriott.   I really liked the location, just a block or so from the harbor, the museum, and the Empress Hotel.  The rooms are of typical size for a nice business class hotel.  The staff and service level is very good and what you should expect.  I would stay here again.

The staff at Marriot Victoria Inner Harbour makes this hotel superb.  Upon arrival we were greeted kindly, upgraded to a suite and offered meal vouchers.  Essentially anything we needed we were accommodated!  This probably wouldn't happen every stay, but I'd certainly go back just because of how nice we were treated.  Located downtown near shops, hotels, parks, transportation & food.  Nicely furnished & clean.

I stayed here last month for a night that was included in a Clipper Vacations package. This Marriott is located a few more blocks away from the ferry terminals than some others (like the Fairmont Empress). Considering that we didn't receive any Marriott points for our stay (since it was booked by the Clipper), I would certainly next time stay at the Fairmont (for the experience) as opposed to siding with my Marriott favoritism. There was nothing particularly notable or wrong with our stay though; we had friendly service and a pleasant stay.

So I'm lying here in bed at the Marriott waiting for my Partner to wake up and decided to write this review.  I'm not happy with my stay here.  While the hotel itself is very clean and everything is in it's right place, I can't say that I'm happy with the service we've received.  I reserved a balcony room with city view directly on the Marriott website two months ago.  Well I'm sitting in a room with a very limited view (definitely no city and sight) and No Balcony. They overbooked the hotel and can't move us to another room.  To their credit they discounted the rate by $40 and gave us free breakfast for two days.  This is great and good but this also happens to be our honeymoon and this place just isn't that great.  It's a standard room with nothing extra.  There isn't even a mini-bar.  Then, to add insult to injury, there isn't even a refrigerator to store any food items.  Instead of a refrigerator, they have a "cooler"  that maintains a temperature of 55 degrees.  WTF is that any good for?  Instead of having a cold orange juice I'm sipping on a luke warm one.  In any case, I will not be staying here again.  Meh!
