Review from Lisa C.

Although I live in a suburb of Dallas, I recently spent one night here for a 5k race at Fair Park. Loved the room. Comfy king sized bed. Nice flat screen tv. Had a perfect cup of frou-frou coffee at the bar at 6am, it was cold outside and they did a great job of quickly waiting on the racers heading out. Later I had a super delicious breakfast of baked French toast with fruit. The Dart station right outside the hotel door was perfect! I enjoyed my mini vacation here!

BIG clean rooms. My room overlooked an ice rink. Service was fine. No complaints, but other than a big room, nothing special. Proximity to DART is really convenient.

It's a Marriott. Stayed here 3 days. The only thing special is the concierge lounge. It is a huge, and they have a decent breakfast.

We stayed here for 3 nights for a wedding. The staff was helpful and always quick to offer suggestions since we weren't familiar with Dallas. The parking attendants were always speedy, with one exception when they couldn't find our car. There was a fair amount of construction but it didn't really hamper our stay. It was really helpful to have a mall as part of the building. It made life much easier.

I recently spent 9 nights and 10 days at the Marriott City Center. I was pleased that when I arrived at 11am they were able to get me into a room: a junior suite, which they said was an upgrade. NICE! I quickly realized that this wasn't as NICE as I initially thought. They are apparently doing a lot of renovation on the 10th floor (I was on 11) so I was constantly listening to hammering and construction work being done.
One other complaint I had was with the doors to the rooms: they are SO LOUD when they close!! It sounded like someone was slamming my door every time a door on my 1/2 of the floor would close. Very obnoxious.
The location is GREAT: right next to a DART station which will get you basically wherever you need to go (in our case, the Convention Center and places to eat). It is attached to a food court/shopping area which has an ice rink. That is all well and good, but I visited that area three times and hardly any restaurants were open. Around 6:30pm on a Friday night I was able to eat at the Mexican restaurant in the food court, however it was closing at 7.
The hotel restaurant was pricey, but very good. I only ate one meal there, but my companion and I were very pleased with the service and food quality. For the two of us to eat lunch and have a couple of cocktails was approximately $50 (not including gratuity).
There are no vending machines in the hotel, but there is a gift shop downstairs which has snacks and limited drinks. Additionally, there was free WIFI in the lobby.
Overall this hotel was pretty good. I would be happy to stay there again, especially if I don't have to pay for it! -

Houston, TX
My brief stay at Marriott City Center was surprisingly pleasant. The room was clean and well appointed and the staff were courteous and helpful. It was relatively quiet in spite of its urban location (I was on the 4th floor), and my night was a restful one - this is almost never the case when I travel on business. My room service breakfast even arrived right on time, which I appreciated immensely. The only drawback I noted was the lack of vending machines coupled with the lack of mini bars; this pretty much forces one to either leave the premises or call for room service. All I wanted was a bottle of water, so I did find that a little frustrating. Outside of that, it was a good experience.

My very best thanks to the Marriott City Center in Dallas for a relaxing, quiet, clean and comfortable stay this past weekend. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and the accommodations were very clean, extremely quiet and offered a great night's sleep without any of the usual hotel noises and interruptions. It is right next to the DART public transit system (Pearl St), a few blocks from the West End arts district in one direction and one stop from the West Village shopping area in the other direction. An easy walk over to McKinney Ave to a few wonderful restaurants too! I would recommend this location to anybody and I will definitely return on my next trip to Dallas. Thank you so very much for providing the perfection accommodations and service. It does not get better than this.
