The Marmot Lodge is part of the Mountain Park Lodges chain that also includes the following Jasper area properties: Amethyst Lodge, Chateau Jasper, Lobstick Lodge, the Pocahontas Cabins, and the Pyramid Riding Stables.

I last stayed at the Marmot Lodge in the winter and during the weekend that Bush vs. Gore was playing out at the Florida and US Supreme Courts. I remember feeling conflicted in that I wanted to follow the news, yet I was in this stunning Canadian National Park, and I needed to get out there and explore!  Properly layered of course.

The Marmot Lodge is nice property and at the time it was relatively inexpensive. The Lodge is at the edge of town, amongst the tree and the occasional wildlife that I got to see wander by.

The rooms were comfortable, the heat worked well (it was -40 C outside) and they had a really nice separate hot tub and pool facility. I didn't have the chance to eat at their Embers Steakhouse during my stay, but I very much enjoyed my adult beverage at the the Fireside Lounge.

I could definitely see coming back here as part of a family vacation.

Visited Jasper in the offseason and stayed here, hadn't made any reservation in advance but called once we arrived. They gave us a standard room with 25% off, they didn't know about the deal at the front desk!  Big rooms with queen and pullout bed in the second room for 95$ tx inc.  Great buffet on sundays.

My husband and I stayed here six days.  No elevators, so kinda difficult for people with heavy luggage.  Free parking.  No breakfast.  No refrigerator, and no microwave.  TV was facing strange angle in the room, so it was hard to enjoy the TV from both sides of the bed.  But it's in a very convenient location along the main street in Jasper, and the front desk was so nice to give us complimentary chocolates and champagne when they learned that we were on honeymoon!  They also have laundry facilities in case you want to do a load or two of laundry.  Detergent is available at the front desk for $1 each box.  To wash is $2, and to dry is $2.
