Wow what a great burger. We ordered the Market Special with mushrooms. Boy, I couldn't get over how juicy and sweet the beef patty was. I wasn't particularly hungry so I told my partner to order one burger and that I would have one or two bites. After it was all said and done, I probably ate more than half.
Since this is a food stand inside the public market, seating can be limited. People are generally very friendly and willing to share their table with you. We shared a table with an Emily Carr student, who said that they ate at Market Grill almost everyday.
The prices are similar to other burger joints across the city, so I don't think this place cost more, especially since they make their own buns and the ingredients seem very fresh.
Very pleasantly surprised considering the mixed reviews. I'll definitely be back for more. -

It's good. Nothing more, nothing less. You can't complain on something that is decent and the price is right.
They make a burger for you on the spot, and the fries are wedge fries. Seasonings are on the side so that you can add whatever you want more or less of. -

Pacific Gold Salmon Burger($10.00+) choice of Salad or Fries side.
The Salmon Burger itself was quite delicious even when it reminds me of one of the Sandwich forms from McDonalds. Maybe the flavour had some slight resemblance as well from that first bite.
It sounds like I'm negatively reviewing the Market Grill but aside from the Tourist pricing, everything was done well and kept in simplistic method as a Market Grill should. Once again much like their Granville Island Food Stall counterparts the price is relatively similar.
Friendly staff willing to help me with my order when someone clueless took my Pacific Gold means they gain the full 3 *Stars* in my books.Listed in: Vancouver'ing for the Week

People seem to be annoyed at the cost. Maybe, but compare the quality of salmon burger/cost between Market Grill and places further east and inland. Don't take this place for granted, locals! Tourist price aside, the pacific gold salmon burger was close to perfect. Fine enough bread, not the worst lettuce... but the salmon? Man, they make a point of building the pacific coast burger around a high quality salmon steak. Moisture, fragrance, depth of texture, body and savour were all as desired. Perfect piece of fish for a sandwich. Good times!

This place was a four and a halfer a few years ago, but alas it has gone downhill. They still serve up a tasty chicken burger (my fave is the Cajun) and the side of caesar salad is still top notch. It's just the size that has changed.
Smaller chicken breast and bigger bill.
Oh well, still a great option for quality fast-ish food on a sunny Sunday afternoon. -

MMMmmmm.......... mmmm.............. mmmmmmm.......
just thinking about market grill is making me drool. every time i come home, it's one of those places that i MUST go to.
in my very humble opinion, one of the most over looked components in a burger is the bun. you can have excellent meat and accompaniments, but if the bun is mediocre, then the package as a whole suffers.
market grill has fresh baked (artisan?) buns, perfectly crusty and soft. my favourite burger is their californian beef - rondele cream cheese, avocado, bacon, and mushrooms on a beautiful bun. all burgers come with caesar salad or wedge fries - both are equally good.
there is a vegetarian option available, but that's where market grill loses the last star. the vegetarian patty is AWFUL, it's strangely peppery and dry and because of this, i can't in good conscience -even though i really wish i could- endorse the entire menu.
(market grill is located in the granville island public market.) -

You know what? Market Grill is exactly what it should be, and could be. You want a dog? great dogs, good price. You want fries? Excellent crispy fries, good price. Burger? for sure you got it. And the customer service is friendly and COHERENT which I have to give stars for these days. (Sorry if that's offensive.)
The Grill serves it right, and you can eat outside on the water listening to live music.
What more could you want from anything with "Grill" in the name? -

Well i went back. Mainly because another person told me there burgers were good. I asked this time to have my burger well done and it came at least cooked this time! I tried the Lite veggie burger this time, and their special sauce was tasty. Yes, now i get it you just have to be more demanding.
